    As much as the Oilers goaltending is bad, their defense is worse. This team is going keep spinning its wheels until this issue gets addressed. It's not one player, it's bad team defense.

    Aside from everyone complaining about the defense, there's another problem. Can someone please explain why we took so many shots from the blue line? It doesn't make sense to me at all. Seems like a wasted effort, instead of getting a lot closer and taking a shot. And the defense is shockingly bad.

      Skinner has been trash this year, this wasn't a good game for the Oilers, but season wise they are among the top teams for denying high danger chances. Skinner is a back up goalie trying to pretend he's a starter.

      @@sdco7487 the issue is they are winning the high danger chance race(most of the time) but they arent finishing their own chances, so it really really weighs some pressure on the goalie. then Bouchard does what he does with that amount of ice-time.. this is what you’re gonna have 🙃

    Please watch the replays of Minnesota's first 2 goals....Honestly ask yourself if THAT is a top 4 D-man that deserves a massive raise this summer? I don't care about his "Bomb" anymore. He is a LAZY, defensive DISASTER. He screens Skinner on the first goal and does not even try to move the Wild forward out of the way. 2nd goal he just looks pathetic. ...TRADE HIM NOW!!!!!!

    • @53greenhill
      @53greenhill Месяц назад +2

      He has always been this bad defensively. Others reams are now keying on him more and Ekholm cannot cover for him like before. I’m sure Oiler Management also realizes this but his trade value has tanked, he should have been traded over the summer at the latest. He can easily be replaced on the PP with Ekholm, Nurse or even try Kulak. He shouldn’t get rewarded for crap play with PP time. Same goes for RNH and Hyman (try Skinner/Perry/Henrique).

    • @algrundau9441
      @algrundau9441 Месяц назад

      @@53greenhill Apparently there already have been some solid offers for Bouchard...Other teams that play a more strict, structured defensive system may mitigate Bouchards disasters better...He is STILL an excellent Powerplay option at this level and some teams are willing to add him.....I have always be;lieved they should make him a forward, ONLY put him on the point for Powerplays and cut their losses.
      I still like Nuge for his intelligence and decision making but there is no question about it...Nuge, Hyman, Skinner and Arvidsson were supposed to score more than this....and Bouchard was supposed to have outgrown these kinds of defensive blunders......Maybe adding Bouchard and Kane up front will help.
      One thing for sure. Stan Bowman had better be working his phones. there is much work to do here if they plan on taking another serious run.

    I see so many comments blaming Skinner when its Oilers defense leaving him high and dry.
    Like, ok, there are like 2 goals maybe he wants back out of 7 goals (2 disallowed), but it was Skinner's defense that didn't help clear the rebound or left open uncovered men in the slot after Skinner made the first save. After the goalie makes the first save its really on your defense after that...
    Skinner is not a superstar goalie, but if our defense is going abandon him its going look worse for him than is fair.
