@@ACRfalconry thanks thanks, I watched the vid and I did build one but I think mine is a bit short. Was wondering what the min height for a red tail would be. Just don't want to go though the trouble of rebuilding if not necessary. 😅
Wtf?! Pretty sure this is for people that like Hawks, not those trying to harm them. Maybe put your chickens in a coop not out in the open where any animal could get at them.
@@darkwitch8648 The reason I want a trap is for relocating an animal. I do not kill what I cannot or do not want to eat. Which in fact now only includes fish. As for the chickens, you cannot keep chickens in a pen all their life unless you are raising for butcher. We have 40 and sell eggs at farmers mkt. To show you why I do not want to kill animals, I have caught 4 coons in a live trap. A big bull coon, a female, and 2 small young ones. the first two I took to a large wooded area at the lake and release. The 2 small ones I took to a lady that has made a type of zoo/haven on her farm for animals of all kinds. The 2 new ones started exploring as soon as they were released. The Male Hawk has moved on, now Im trying to catch a red fox and more coons. I still want/need a Hawk trap for live capture to remove.
Jon little I understand what your saying man I have lost$ 2,000 in game birds this year. I try to solve problem and not kill hope owls like the hawk trap also I do have motion control cameras to watch trap 24/7
the hawk I want to trap is huge, he prob. stands 3 ft. tall, wing span approx 3 to 4 ft. prob. 4 ft. I would need a trap with a high side for the spring action. I dont want to kill him killing my hens like his mate did, please help me. I will pay for a large hawk trap, I dont want any harm to come to him. If you want, if I catch him I will give him to you. I just dont want to kill such a beautiful bird of prey. It breaks my heart to think people actually kill them, my father in law, dead now, told me he killed a few that were after his chickens, he never thought about trapping and sending somewhere else.
thank you for your time and effort.
Great job explaining look forward to watching more

Very carefully, I'd imagine.

Can you capture and teach a hawk to protect your chicken's from other hawks?
No that's not possible
Can trained hawk withot hood ?
Yes I've trained a few hawks without the hood.
Do another video on measurements on how to build it
Coming soon 😊
Will this work on an african goshawk?
Can't see why it wouldn't work
Awesome video! Curious to know what's the hight from the tip of the trap to the base.
Not sure off the top of my head but I did a video on how to build one on my channel.

I will measure tomorrow
@@ACRfalconry much appreciated!
@@ACRfalconry Yup I've been curious too as to the overall height.
Near my home 30m can i catch goshawk and sparrowhawk ?
Not sure. You need to check your local laws
@@ACRfalconry why not sure
How can I find a sponsor near ne Ohio
Try finding a falconry group on Facebook near you.
Having a problem with being able to set Perch? I see you even moved doors while you have it set maybe too much tenchin on spring
You have to find the "sweet spot" and make sure you use a good sized dowel for the perch.
@@ACRfalconry yes it took me a week to tweak it out equal pressure is key thanks for reply with information
I also found that adding string to the corners allows the doors to stay square and the perch tighter
Is difficult to built swedish trap
Not really. Just look them up online for measurements
Another video on famous you tube that tells you how to do something but doesn't show the end result
would you build a trap for me. I have a big, really big hawk killing my chickens and I dont want to kill it, just move it to an area far away.

Where are you located
Killing a Hawk is a federal crime. Also heartbreaking. They're beautiful animals.
Looks like a Goshawk? Definitely not a Eagle
It's a red tailed hawk
You should remove this video. Idiots wont read your legal warning at the start. Nice falconry vids.
