The fact that you didn't drop the quality of your work even though the subject didn't seem worth it says much about your professionalism. It was a pleasure to watch!
It’s been said a thousand times by a thousand subscribers but why on earth aren’t suppliers falling over themselves to support our man? Honest, hardworking, down to earth, the lads a goldmine! Top job Oliver
Fully agree, your rate also needs the ability to grow the business to enable workshop overhead chain hoist, more tools & machines to make your personal life far easier and attract the higher earning work. The future will always be the bespoke new workshop …. Well done you lad, I bet your parents are proud of you….
I totally agree with your sentiment, but we've watched 3+ hrs of video, how many real time hours went in to the job one wonders. It would be interesting to know, I know some creators film for 8 hours for 15 to 20 mins of output, great job Ollie, well done mate, love your content.
You were spot on with your assessment on whether it's worth fixing or not. Thats the customers choice and if they were willing to pay the cost the rest doesn't really matter. As far as raising your rates go your work is excellent so your rates should reflect that.
Don’t think most people realise just how much work goes into a job like this, especially when you’re a one man business. Enjoy your videos, shows your high level of work and knowledge 👍
Morning, Oliver. Well done. It's ready to be used and abused for another couple of seasons. Cheaper than buying a new one and just as good. I'm not sure a lot of people realize how much money you are saving customers versus them buying new replacement equipment. That looks like a 40-foot low boy trailer--a new one will be at least 15,000 to 20,000 pounds. So, when a customer can get like-new quality work (like you produce) to restore their equipment at a fraction of the cost of new, it becomes a no-brainer. Anyway, that's my two bits. Thanks for inviting us in to look on and see you next week. Cheers.
@sjv6598 if Oliver didn't make more than a few grand on that work, he's definitely not charging enough. At the same time, if both parties are happy, who am I to tell him to charge more?
Jesus. Parts of that trailer were definitely held together by paint, rust and the grace of God. Absolute shed. Thanks for another interesting video!! 😎
Definitely in the 'OMG I thought she'd never leave' category... but a hell of a job, trailer has another life ahead of it. Those 'one thing after another' jobs are testing - but you passed and took us with you on the journey. Thanks for taking the time, appreciate it.
Brilliant video as always. Thank you for your honesty. You do a first class job, often better than manufacturers. You provide a one stop service and your customers need to pay you your worth.
You definitely need an overhead shed hoist. I’m amazed how good you are at manoeuvring things in the shed. You once said you weren’t an engineer. I’d say you’re better than most engineers. You’ve got the touch when it comes to this sort of thing. Also your hourly rate should be commensurate with your great skills. 👏👏🇦🇺
I watched all 3 episodes of this job Oliver and it looked like hard graft the whole way through, you were so honest about your feelings about working on this job and still producing the best possible result for your customer, which tells the story.
What a reliable source of entertainment and education you are. A real insight into the work of a real mechanic and engineer. Always a video to look forward to.
That's an awesome job mate! Don't undersell yourself! Charge what others are charging for the same work. Keep up the good work! Enjoy your videos on Sunday evenings here in Australia.
I am absolutely in awe of what you have done here. There is an old story of the carpenter’s favourite hammer which had had 3 handles and two heads. Maybe it ought to be the farmer’s favourite trailer! The product far exceeds the original! Well done mate!
The rate is the rate and the customer makes a decision on a budget. It has nowt to do with anyone else because those viewers on RUclips are not paying the bill or doing the work. I have repaired stuff before today that should have been scrapped but not on this scale. Work is to do or decline, so top marks for rising to the challenge and making a champion job!
You have done an amazing job on this trailer. In addition you have probably saved pedestrians and other road users lives. I was on the M6 some years back when a trailer similar to this one was in the middle lane doing 70ish, obviously in a hurry because he was continually cutting up other road users, frequently changing lanes to get one car length ahead. Suddenly the trailers whole wheel assembly came off, crossing the central reservation and killing a driver coming in the opposite direction. The two occupants of the vehicle towing the trailer were both seriously injured as were several of the vehicles occupants following the trailer. Seeing the level of dedication you put into this trailer repair I would definitely use your machine shop services for any engineering tasks I needed to be undertaken. Thanks for sharing.
I bet you were glad to see that go up the road. It is a bugger when there is more work than you thought. I only hope the bloke who commissioned the job appreciates the amount of effort and work you put into it. Good onya
Dude, best video yet. Sure hope you didn't take a financial ding on this one. You put in more work than any man could reasonably afford. If this was for a friend, be careful you're not being taken advantaged of. Fantastic work. It's another reason why I really like your channel.
As you say, it could be that jobs like this help you to re-assess the value you add and decide you want to look at things differentely. Looks to me that you have certainly increased both your personal skills and made investments in new hardware to allow you to attract the sort of work that best suits your set up. Longer/shorter form videos are fine with me - always look forward to Sunday's. Best of luck.
Outstanding job Ollie! I recently had a similar experience with stubborn wheel nuts and relived it through your video... Your quality of work is defiantly worth a premium hourly rate. Looking forward to the next video. Stay safe.
I have been following very closely, the repair on rhe "rust bucket" of a trailer, and very impressed with the great job you have done. I am 81 years old and for over 60 years I did the same type of work you do. For a young man, you have a lot of knowledge and ability. I love to watch your projects and I send my greetings from West Texas.
Great conclusion. I said to my boy at the outset that you are not charging enough if you get these horrid jobs. Great video and great content as usual. Keep em coming Ollie. Have a good week! 👊
Oliver, you are amazing. Taking on a job like that is very rare. Most shops would have walked away from that job. I hope you charged plenty for that job.
Excellent work as a welder fabricator in a one man shop myself, i will say we need 100s more just like you and i and the countless others that take on the big jobs and make the impossible possible for other hard working family farms and businesses. on a world wide stage skilled tradesman are in dyer need..👍🏻
Great work as usual, not many would take on what you achieve, don’t be a busy fool! Make sure you charge a decent hourly rate, especially with your expertise, well done , keep up the great work 👍👍🇬🇧
I'd look at this piece of work as not so much a paid job , more a case of look what i can do and make for you out of nothing ! A great example of your determination and endeavour mate 👍This must bring more work in if nothing else 👏
Everything has been said about this amazing project, another sow's ear -> silk purse job. With all respect to your amazing use of the fork lift, I think it is time to consider a shop crane or lift. I am always impressed with the excellent controls of Kurtis' electric crane and am sure you would benefit from a similar unit. Thanks for sharing this extensive repair with us. Hope you are having an enjoyable Sunday.
Great work oliver. A lot of main dealers are charging £100.00 /hr + for a technician who may not have half the skills you have. I always thought guys that do work like you on all manner of machinery often considered uneconomic repairs by others should earn the most.
Its swing and round abouts when working for yourself and many don't appreciate what you put into it for if they did they would pay top dollar and farm equipment is not cheap even second hand for example a 30 year old tractor will go for over 10 thousand and all the time i've watch you your standard of work is second to none very few could even come close .
Oliver, brilliant job done proper. It is difficult to find the right amount of fees depending upon the economy and what the customer is willing to spend. I know painting a job is not in the fore front but, as a client, I get surprised and appreciative when I did not expect a job was painted. Looking forward to another. Cheers.

Good morning from Mississippi USA. I can see where it's worth repairing vs the price of a new one, that might not even be as good. Depends on the use. You sure have taken it back to a respectable trailer. See ya next Sunday
If anyone thought this kind of work was easy they know better now that job never stopped throwing up problems and you just kept on battling through them great set of videos 👍👍👍
Well it turned out alright in the end. Cracking job . Don't blame you putting your hourly rate up and all the materials you have used and welding wire and other bits .soon adds up

Great work! You definitely ascribe to the concept of not just repairing but making it better. I can see how you’re sought for designing and building custom projects. 👍👍👍
Oliver great job, that trailer sure had it's challenges. That cutting table sure is asset for fabricating parts needed to do the job one of those jobs where do you stop and say that's it
Hey Oliver. Great job. That was a lot of work. Sometimes you just do what the costumers want. As long as you're getting paid appropriately. You do great quality work, make sure you are paid what you're worth.. You might not keep getting all the little BS jobs if you go up on the rates, but hey, the high schoolers need a start 😂. I'm sure you will always have work on the expensive, much needed equipment. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you are well compensated for your excellent workmanship, I've been doing repairs for over 35 years, glad I learned early on, seems like there are less and less qualified people that do this high quality work.. Your commitment to high level work is commendable.. Good on you!!

Agree 100%!!!
And that subscriber count decimal point should be at least 1 place further to the right.
@@onlyme7939 👍👍
Defo don’t price yourself too cheap mate ,,not for the standard of work you produce,,it’s all too easy to be the busiest poor man out there
Well put
@@RyJonesI agree, well said.
Mate , love watching your channel. Bloody good work. Cheers Nick from down under
Absolutely agree with that "busiest poor man" fell into that trap when I started out.
Fully agree, your rate also needs the ability to grow the business to enable workshop overhead chain hoist, more tools & machines to make your personal life far easier and attract the higher earning work. Definitely one of the hardest working men on youtube. Great job bringing that thing back from the brink!
Jesus. Parts of that trailer were definitely held together by paint, rust and the grace of God. Absolute shed. Thanks for another interesting video!! 😎
An bailing twine as my grampa use to say...😅
A solid waist of baling wire for sure. The cost of paper for a the title must be horrific in England. That trailer has nothing worth keeping.

Silk purse out of a sow's ear job. Well done. The quality should be clear to your customer. Thanks for posting.
What a nightmare, Mr Oliver!! The biggest joy was when you finished it. Great job, I must say. Thanks a lot.

Good for you Ollie. As someone earlier said, “You don’t want to be the busiest poor man in town.”

A job well done....and I bet you are glad to have your workshop back!
Really like your video editing. Nothing wrong with upping your hourly rate. That will definitely weed out the sketchy jobs. Randall in Kentucky, USA
Great ! Congratulations ! I hope that if IC weld look at your video he is proud of your job ! Greetings from France.

Another top job
Big thumbs up
You did a great job polishing up that pile of rust.
AS others have said you'll be glad to see this job finished, amazing professionalism and attention to quality.
That was a lot of work! Thanks for another great video, I look forward to every one :)
You went above and beyond on that one. Great job and video.
a tuff job but well done and wright by you. thanks. see you next week l hope.
Whatever you’re charging it’s too cheap Ollie. Trust me. I’ve been there. You’re a grafter. Unusual in someone your age!!
That was a monumental salvage job. Well done Oliver!
Muito bom trabalho como sempre amigo!!!Vai aguentar por muito tempo este trabalho!!!
Boa sorte sempre!!!

Great job Olly another one saved from the scrap heap
Well done, another great outcome 🎉
I feel we are too quick to consign things to the scrapyard. It's good to see old equipment made good and put back to work.
well done . yes raise your rates and look after yourself word will spread on your work so be happy
I know exactly what Oliver is talking about. Its nice to know not everyone else takes the easy way out.
Oliver, brilliant job done proper. It is difficult to find the right amount of fees depending upon the economy and what the customer is willing to spend. Nice one Olly, great job as always, mate.
Good morning from Mississippi USA.
I can see where it's worth repairing vs the price of a new one, that might not even be as good. Depends on the use.
You sure have taken it back to a respectable trailer.
See ya next Sunday
Great video. Raising your hourly rate is good. Not many customers actually get to see work being done.
If anyone thought this kind of work was easy they know better now that job never stopped throwing up problems and you just kept on battling through them great set of videos 👍👍👍

You do great work buddy! Enjoyed watching this series, thanks.
You have made a cracking job of that
Wow, this is like the trailer that just keeps on taking. I hope that you don’t lose out on this mammoth task. ❤🇦🇺
Good job Oliver given what you had to work with.
