I was really hoping for you to bring up hasunosora when you talked about the popularization of virtual idols since that's taken it even further with the characters being alive in real time but this was still really fun watching the history of love live in relation to virtual idols, I definitely recall virtual idols being a thing before love live but I'd be stupid to not agree that it definitely made it 'mainstream' more popular, esepcially here

This is nice. I knew there was some sort of connection between hololive and love live. Yagoo getting inspired by it does makes sense and also was inspired by Akb8 as well. I love hololive and love live and knew about the Vocaloids, but seeing all of it come together through making paths for each other is inspiring as well. One would think that hololive and love live would have more projects done together because of this, but as far as I know, hololive talents just performed snow halation as a cover. And that's it. It's still cool, though, and can have all three Ips Face Off on the stage of weiss schwarz, too. Also, I did not know "Rance" knew about idols.

Huh you really are a fan of the whole idol franchise. I guess I never really thought about that despite watching your vids. Good work as always 🎉

I like all genres, I'll be there for what this world has to offer

While they didn't introduce the concept of virtual idols, they certainly caused a boom in popularizing it. Good video :>

I cracked when I first saw your post about MiSide, then when I started this video, the first OST is from MiSide

@@WhiteHorsePrince Same here. I haven't experienced the game myself (planning to), but I've watched others play and that already made me love it. If you're interested, make sure to check out Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame's voice-acting on it. It was incredible.
Either way, appreciate the video! My journey as an idol fan also started with Love Live, since I was pushed into the rabbit hole by my classmates back when Muse's first started. Unfortunately, I'm the only one still listening to their music now.

@@RedSatoshi Damnnn, I only caught a glimpse of part of Eliza's live stream, but I didn't imagine she had literally dubbed it. GOAT. I initially played the game because a friend of mine recommended it to me and just said, "Play it... play it without knowing anything". Thank you, "a friend", thank you...
Thanks for your comment! Idol was also quite present for me in the past. I'm not as obsessed as I used to be, but I still hold certain animes dear. My personal favorite is Aikatsu, and from the new generation I'm a big appreciator of Zombieland Saga and Paripi Koumei.

Ehh... kinda weak video. If Love Live created virtual idols, what did Macross Frontier do?

My apologies if you didn't like it. That's unfortunate.
I never said in the video that Love Live created Virtual Idols, I said it "brought". And then I said "if it weren't for Love Live, this Virtual Idols trend wouldn't exist", which again doesn't mean that Love Live invented it, and that in fact it was the one that gave the final boost to the global popularization of the idea.
Revolution is not just about creating or inventing something new-it's about transforming or elevating an existing idea, concept, or system to a completely new level that changes the way people interact with it. My position here is that LL! revolutionized and popularized virtual idols, giving the trend its biggest push to success.
      Thanks for watching my video

The flaw with your video is that you say Love Live started the idea of having real life and virtual idols in a mix media project, but from where I stand Love Live took the ideas from idolm@ster and pretty much copied it, but the Love Live franchise was the one that manage to make it popular for more mainstream consumers. The anime was definitely the big contributor, I mean who doesn't like watching a sports anime with a bunch of cute school girls, with the sport being an idol contest.
Also don't forget the roots of Bang Dream didn't come from Love Live, it came from idolm@ster. The then CEO of Bushiroad, Kidani saw Aimi's performance at one of the idolm@ster concerts (MOIW 2014) and he wanted to create a the franchise around Aimi with a band motif.
Also not once you mention Kizuna Ai. I don't have to explain her impact on virtual idols/vtubers.

@@nork22 Thank you for your feedback (:
You provided some really great information that certainly would have helped when I was thinking about this video. That's one of the great things about making RUclips videos-it’s a way to gain knowledge from the people in the comments too.
I don’t believe the core of my video is wrong, and I think the message I wanted to convey comes across: Love Live changed the industry. But your work here in the comment really highlights the finer details that could have made the video truly solid!
In the end, Love Live wasn’t the first or the pioneer, but it was the star.

@@WhiteHorsePrince Love Live is definitely the shining star and it captured the "idol" boom the west hadn't experience yet.
