The police rider really makes the point about overtaking well into the other lane. When he shows it, you can see how it increases the safety margin. Top course, that, learnt things just watching, thanks.
Also 6:53 isn't nice overtaking. That's you pushing past as an oncoming car passes. It's very easy to get killed overtaking like that. Sorry, I don't mean to be negative, i just don't want to see you get killed or seriously injured.
thanks for the feedback , but please watch full video before you think anything you saw earlier was wrong , because it wasn't and as police officer said. It was all good and in control. But thanks for watching!
I think if it were longer than a day course the feedback may have been different. It's progress vs restraint and I wouldn't ever advise you compromise safety to make progress. All it would take was for the car driver to decide he too wanted to overtake the other vehicles and not notice you overtaking him and it would have been a different story. Nothing wrong with overtaking but just hold back a couple of seconds to be sure what the other vehicle is doing first. That's just my opinion though, different people perceive risk differently but as an IAM observer I tend to lean more towards the side of caution
@MOTOMOOD there's a young lady who has recently passed her test having been through her course with Bury & Rochdale Advanced motorists and has vlogged the experience. It's a good watch as too is Reg Local. He's an IAM examiner but also posts extensively. If you do vlog any advanced rider training though I'd be very keen to see it. It's always enjoyable to see how other groups operate. Anyway, good luck with it all & stay safe.
Interesting insight. I wonder what difference filming makes to the appraisal. I did the theory aspect to a Welsh version 'Dragon Rider Cymru' last night, so I have the supervised ride coming up soon. What are your feelings about doing your advanced. I've subscribed to you as I'm a new channel and enjoyed your video. Ride safe, Lady J Rider
My recommendation is to get more training with your local I.A.M or ROSPA group. Well worth the time and effort. I was so pleased I did my I.A.M test last year. I learned so much from proper safe bikers.
Being in Road Rage mode tends to freeze your mind and distance it from the PRESENT situation which may have become even more dangerous! So for YOUR sake practice not reacting.
Thoroughly enjoyed my Bike Safe day. Probably gonna go every year or two to keep improving along with other training

Not wearing gloves while riding? Hope you don't need to use your hands much...
