With Dido I once settled a single city on another continent and made it my capital. Then I got those Diplomacy cards that gave all those bonuses for cities not on the same continent as your capital. It was huge.
This is seriously impressive expansion! Also, glad I’m not the only one who takes a non-Monumentality golden age dedication and then proceeds to spend the next 30 turns buying all my settlers 🤦🏻♂️
6:46 Little optimization thing, for the culture bomb district resolution, the AI will almost always (to the point where I've seen maybe one exception in my entire time playing civ) place a single vote for resolution A on themselves. This means that two votes on yourself will always win! Always worth going for IMO, unless you have literally zero diplo favor.
Harbor gives you gold from adjacency 🍋 And science from golden age 🍬 And +2 culture from NanMadol 🍇 And production from shipyard 🍍 And power from Cardiff 🍺 And trade route from lighthouse 🍥 Improves every water tile 🌽🍍🍋 One district gives you 🍋🍬🍇🍍🍺🍥🌽
Fantastic game. Not to take anything away from Ursa's play, and obviously the governor mod is a bit OP, but this really shows how great city state control and Owls of Minerva is. Easily my favourite way to play. Maybe it's time for a spotlight series on someone like Rough Rider Teddy or Pericles to really show that off?
I don’t know if you would consider it cheating, but if you have the merchant governor with the “buy districts with gold in any city with an established governor,” you can actually buy districts before the governor is established in a new city. You just need to “refresh” the established merchant governor by reassigning it to a different city, then assigning it back to its original city in the same turn. In this way, with hic sunt draconis and the pioneer governor, you can settle 5 pop cities, buy in 2 districts (for instance a harbor and commercial hub triangle), and then buy a settler all on the same turn. This way, with owls, you can get essentially 2 new traders per turn, thereby increasing your gold income and further snowballing.
you know the governors mod you're using seem a little bit too strong, well, maybe it's the how favorable is the map, the promotion are a bit more interesting than the OG governors and reminds me a lot of civ 5 (i always liked playing germany on civ v)
“One of favourite cards” a civic that ursa usually just forgets until he desperately needs to change his government. Lol

That's the plan!!! Always fun = )
Ursa: "i'm gonna play Dido and do naval invasions"
also Ursa: *Bumb rush Macedon with city state land units* "it's cheap"
OOOOH. I love how the big staircase on etemenanki goes right into the ocean. Very satisfying graphic placement.
I didn't spot that!
Your thumbnails are really unhinged. Love them
Hahaha thank you - we have fun!
Dido looking real happy and energetic conquering all the land!
Not Tyred at all.
(Sorry).
You're not sorry. And you shouldn't be!
12:35 might have a bit to do with the very turbocharged governor mod...
This is seriously impressive expansion! Also, glad I’m not the only one who takes a non-Monumentality golden age dedication and then proceeds to spend the next 30 turns buying all my settlers 🤦🏻♂️
Hehehe = ) It's the science!
What a game!! Owls + lots of traderoutes really gives you the monopoly over the city states

My coast is more useful than my land!
The Casa and Pioneer "foreign continent" bonuses could get pretty nuts with the move capital nonsense.
Just you wait...!
Very impressive Ursa. Your editing is getting quite good as well. Great vid, thanks!
Why thank you!!!

Any tactic that snowballs tends to do well against the ai! Pericles has had this issue from pretty much day 1 = )

Oh that's sneaky... Possibly cheating yes but very fun!
Plural of Campus...is it Campi? Sounds right...
My favourite citystate Aukward is missing 😭
If only!
I feel like this is a game where Merchant Republic is a better pick than Monarchy.
Wait till you see the diplo favour!
That's weird. Have lost old units I've set to auto explore, but not noticed it happening as a result of attacking on my turn!
Just subscribed, and then rewarded 10 min later
Every day, 8pm UK time! Glad to have you on board = )

It's a fun mod, I can't lie!

You said "butt", hehehe!

@ursa Ryan , does it matter what direct X version you select for the mods to work?
Shouldn't do! Swing by the discord if you're having issues, the people there are fab at helping out
Horse sauce. ❤️
Do the AI actually make use of this governor/tradition mod? Or does it just make governor titles pointless for them?
They do! Tricky to see promotions but they do use them decently well
man if he were to change his capital to the continent with the least cities, colonial taxes would be ridiculous!!
Just you wait!
