I grew up in Richmond Indiana. My brother-in-law had a good friend that had one of these. If I remember correctly it was paint scheme B. but I’m not 100% sure I was kind of young then. I just know my brother-in-law said it was pretty wicked fast. I just remembered it being cool looking because of the hood scoop and stripes. It was parked in my brother-in-law‘s garage for sometime because his buddy wanted to put some headers on it.. I know he had to order them and it took a while to find some. They finally got installed and he started driving the car again. At some point it was wrecked and needed a new dog house.it sat for many years unrepaired. The original owner eventually sold it don’t know what happened to it from that point. All I know somebody probably got a bargain when he let go of it. I do know his last name was Smith. I’m not sure of the production amount, but I know it wasn’t very many. If anybody knows any more history of that particular car, it would be nice to hear about what happened to it.
Thanks for the vid. 3:30 AMC never had numbers matching engine/powertrains. The numbers would only show engine type, transmission, etc but that's it - no serialization.
Hurst shifters installed on special cars made the vehicle more valuable, thrush mufflers were the thing, like a glass pack whenever you let off the throttle, back pressure would sound like a splatter echoing , cool back in the day , today flomaster is the only way to go. 40s 50s sounds best.
I cant buy that hurst painted the later in B scheme, to speed up production. My sc is a factory A scheme, and has a fairly late vin#. The vin# on mine is later than almost all of them ive seen.
Hurst not hertz for the conversion.. I could’ve bought a b scheme car back in the late 90’s that was on a farm, but it was too rusty for the amount of money they wanted. Looking back I’ve paid more for worse since then lol. Sadly that car along with about 50 other cars and trucks all got scrapped a year later when the farmer died
The tech sheet stated 6x 15 wheels. The tire size is F 70-14. Basically a very tight fit. Thanks
