This video is so thoughtful in so many different ways. Talking about how you don't want to put things behind paywalls and don't want to gatekeep your recipes, talking about how you're mindful about creating products we can use longer than just a few weeks, giving us warnings about ASMR or visuals we might not like -- thank you so much for caring so much about us, Katie. It's so obvious how much we mean to you. I've been a fan for years and videos like this remind me exactly why I keep coming back.
I don't use palm oil in my soap, but I use Royalty Soaps' recipe as a starting point and sort of standard for properties/feel whenever I make a batch of soap. I've always loved how Royalty Soaps' products feel, especially compared to every single brand I've tried from regular grocery stores. Katie made a beginner soap series a while back too and it's awesome
Awwwwwww this made my day!!! I do really really REALLY care about you guys, you aren't just another view to me, I know full well that each view is a real person behind the screen and I'm just delighted to serve you all in this way!!
Would a litteral 'evergreen' themed soap not just be awesome? Shades of pine-, sage- and holly green and a woodsy, resin/spruce scent, with little pinecone embeds😍
If you ever decide to delve into the world of soap making, you may find that many of Katie's techniques are widespread. As for her recipe, it is a basic recipe that anyone can use and tweak, provided that you use a soap calculator.
When you made this soap previously you used a drizzle on the top that looked like actual honey on the comb. I wish this one would have had it too, it always makes the bars look so delicious and realistic looking. I love the drizzles! Regardless, the soap still looks and smells lovely I am sure!
I hear you!!! I wish I could do it again, but these soaps are going to be packaged in boxes (woop woop plastic free packaging!) and melt and pour will sweat and get sticky when exposed to the air.
@RoyaltySoaps That is understandable, I figured you had a reason for it, but I still like the aesthetic of the honey. Way to go making a greener product though!
The honey soap is always great - I've bought another version from you before, can confirm the bar has a noticeably creamier feel and thicker lather, it's lovely to the touch. Also the ASMR is reminding me of how ideal RS content would be for the compilation/sleep edition YT video trend - I'd never fall asleep to anything else 😅
What I love about your products is that you can gift them just about any time of the year for any occasion. My teenage niece loves fruit scents no matter what time of year it is so being able to find the kind of scents she likes year round is great. It doesn’t matter if it’s Christmas; she’s happy with watermelon, strawberry, grape, any kind of fruit.
I really really miss the birthstone soaps! I understand that they probably weren’t good for profit margins, but I thought they were just great presents!
I am so glad you mentioned about seasonal stuff. Many new soap makers need that advise. I rarely make seasonal stuff and when I do I just make very small amounts. My customers don’t care about seasons and I found that out the hard way. Thank you for your transparency and commitment to help others. Blessings to you. Ps love your decor!
Vibes not themes! It's also way less gimmicky. I get that people like to use them in the run-up though. An old friend of mine loves Christmas and would happily talk about it any time of year 😁
Katie, you are the reason i make my own soap. I have been watching i believe since 2019-2020. You give good information and helpful tips. I have never used your bars because of allergies to Almonds but the shampoo/conditioner bars are amazing.
Thanks for watching and I'm so glad that you found us inspiring enough to join the soap-making craft! Also, we actually have a lot of soaps without almond oil! ❤️ www.royaltysoaps.com/collections/simplicity www.royaltysoaps.com/collections/diamond-soaps www.royaltysoaps.com/collections/glass-soap www.royaltysoaps.com/collections/whipped-soap Not to mention sugar scrubs, but those aren't soaps 😊
@@RoyaltySoaps good to know, i never fully checked the other bars. But you definitely inspired me to create amazing soap. Still haven’t attempted frosting but thats fine.
Hi Katie! For a challenge video have you ever considered making a woodash soap? Making your lye from scratch by using hardwood ash and filtering the lye yourself and see how well that would work for a soap?
I love this scent. It is my favorite scent this far! I'm really hoping the candle also comes back in stock. It's also my husband's favorite and the throw of Katie's candles cannot be beat!!!
You should do a fluffy pancake collection of soaps, you could even do different versions to add different inbeds like blueberry, cherry, syrup and bacon etc xx
I love love love your honey soap. It's the only bar that I've used completely because I can't get enough of the scent. I'm excited to get a restock and gift it to people for Christmas, it's that good.
I absolutely LOVE your honey soaps. I've bought so many, the local honey and any honey mixture (the lavender/honey soap is my current use one!). I absolutely LOVE bees and we need to save them more than ever. Plus, they smell SO good and I'm so glad you can support your local beekeepers this way, too!
Katie, I had the same doubts about properties from honey or other natural ingredients. I appreciate very much your honesty and integrity approaching this issue. Thanks a lot❤😊❤
Hi katie,I had been making soap for 2 years when I started watching you!! You were making soap in your family's garage. I'm still making soap, mostly hot process but I also make cold process soaps. ❤❤ Still love watching you, also I am the oldest of ten!! I aways felt we had something in common!!☺️☺️
It's a small thing maybe, but it's so nice that you gradually brought the music back in near the end of the asmr peeling section; having a jolt back to loud music is so jarring and ear splitting. Along with all your warnings and heads up for things we dont like, I love that you also dont just use it as a gimmick but instead give each thing the respect it deserves for your audience. You're so cozy and fun to watch! Despite it almost always being soap making, the conversation topic and additions in the videos are always a fun treat that keep things fresh ^o^
It's also difficult to gift christmas themed soaps because not everyone celebrates Christmas. My friend who is jewish and my friend who is muslim have no interest in santa themed items.
Great advice. I havnt made any themed soaps for xmas ect. Who wants them the day after, like you said. I just dont think people need their soap to be themed. To me whats in it and how its smells/ feels is the most important. I love honey soaps too. 😊 Your bars look great. Thanks for sharing, love your excitement that you always have making your soaps too.
Your honey scent is my absolute favorite! I buy multiple bars of soap AND I’ve used the wax melts, it’s always a treat when these finally go back on sale!!
For me, honey is definitly christmas-y On the markets they always have those bees wax candles and they kinda smell like honey. Also, ginger bread is made with a lot of honey traditionally
I have to say, this new bar size is perfectly adorable! I have been using my accidental stash of your soaps...they last so long for hand washing, and the fragrance is still amazing(I will admit, I'm slow to use them because they're so pretty)❤❤❤
I've been using one of your honey soaps since I moved into my new place and we started painting it in January. Leaves the skin so soft, smells beautiful and works great! Bars last forever too, I've still got so much left
I'm so missing the honey drizzle on top of these🥺but also extremely excited you're considering keeping it stocked. Now, if you can make the lotion🤩....
A few years ago I got a part of the honey soap in the sample pack thing with small pieces of different soaps. It smelled so good. I shared some with my sister but held that one back because I loved it
I LOVE your fun videos!!!!!! You give SO Much of yourself in all of them I hope you save someenergy for you & you family THANK YOU I love that you are such a tell it like it is and roll with the punches gal Blessings to you & your family
💜💜💜 Love this and love your soaps. You alone are the reason I got into soap making and have a successful little side gig! Ever thought of selling your fragrance blends? Opens up a whole new market to include the people you have inspired that may not buy your soaps because they make their own! I would definitely buy! 💜💜💜
💖Gosh I appreciate you, your videos, your openess and i watch and rewatch all your videos to relax to😌 These later months of the year are pretty overwhelming lbr, and I've rewatched your ASMR video many, many times🤭 (Thank you btw x) BUT this 🍯honey-peel-back-asmr-moment was everything i didnt know I needed😍👏 🙋May I please put my vote in for a 'Royalty Soaps ASMR Volume✌️- Honey, Sweetness For The Soul' video if you have the time? I think having this soap available year round is a great idea. Love to watch your videos. A scent I'd love to have in a soap and other items is Claire Burke Original. I don't know if anyone else has asked for it, but I would love it! Keep on soapin'!
Can you share a link for the gold micas that you used in this recipe? I scanned the links below pretty thoroughly so I apologize if it was included and I missed it. TIA 😊
Hey Katie! What if you calculated the lye to be really close to zero super fat. Then mixed the honey with your super fat oils. And made your soap, not lye heavy of course, but close to zero then added the honey and super fatting oils after most of the lye reaction had already occurred. What do you think? Would it seize with all that extra sugar? have you tried it? Just curious.
I had a serious conversation with my mother that we are down to 2 bars of soap. This caused her to think about mens hygiene. I knew this would be an advanced topic for her.
very nice that you put warnings for asmr because I know some people absolutely hate it! I am the kind of person that gets their head scratched by that noise it was awesome! also on another note my cat reacted to the noise and thought it was a poptart wrapper and he ran up sniffing 😂😂😂
You could add different elements and talk about how they're affected by the process or not, and maybe discuss how product testing is done to keep people safe when they're buying a commercial product. I'd love this.
Hi, I’m new to your channel and love buying soap from smaller business owners. Question: are your soaps all melt and pour? Asking because I ordered soap in the past from another whose soaps had to cure for weeks, and by the time I got them, the smell was completely gone. I really want soap that smells good.
It's interesting that peppermint is considered christmassy. I don't get that at all, I don't know why. We had candy canes on the tree when I was a kid too. I'm in the UK. It's such a cold flavour, warm things for winter make sense in my head!

Stay tuned for something like that! 👀
The enzymes in honey are destroyed around 98 degrees so you are correct, but it's the thought that counts. Honey just sounds so comfy.
I KNEW IT!!!! lol
What if I mix the oils and lye after they have cooled to 80 degrees, and add the honey after that? (yep, super newbie question...thanks so much)
I'm just a watcher, not a soap maker. It's really refreshing to see someone willingly share their recipes and techniques for free.
If you ever decide to delve into the world of soap making, you may find that many of Katie's techniques are widespread. As for her recipe, it is a basic recipe that anyone can use and tweak, provided that you use a soap calculator.
Not gatekeeping info behind paywalls? 👑 So refreshing. That’s queen behaviour 💕

I love peppermint soap even in the summer because of the cooling effect it leaves on my skin!

I have the shampoo bar in this scent and it's great! You also get noticeably more for the price than a similar bar from, say, Lush.....
You're right! The shampoo bars are HUGE and I did that on purpose because I wanted you guys to get the most bang for buck!!

thank you katie for not gatekeeping with patreon. you easily could, but you don't and I respect it
I’m just trying to make soap for everyone, regardless of budget!!!
You should do a fluffy pancake collection of soaps, you could even do different versions to add different inbeds like blueberry, cherry, syrup and bacon etc xx
BEAUTIFUL❣️❣️❣️ I can’t wait to see the frankencinse and myrrh soap❣️
Thanks for keeping it FREE, Katie! ❤
I love love love your honey soap. It's the only bar that I've used completely because I can't get enough of the scent. I'm excited to get a restock and gift it to people for Christmas, it's that good.
The Three Kings soap is one of my favorite scents!
I enjoyed watching the clay powder get absorbed into oils at the beginning.
QOD: the frankincense and myrrh soap is one of my favourites.
Love the frankincense and myrh soap. The scent is so unique. Thanks
So nice to have a soap to buy for friends that lasts after Christmas!
I feel like this one is begging for a little bee stamp in the corner 😊
I absolutely adore this time of year for your soaps (okay I adore your soaps all year round).
Royalty Soaps day is always the best day ❤🎉

Best. ASMR. Ever.
It's also difficult to gift christmas themed soaps because not everyone celebrates Christmas. My friend who is jewish and my friend who is muslim have no interest in santa themed items.
What about soap that is green, red, white, and black
I don’t celebrate myself and love when places have do more to “winter themed” vs “Christmas themed”.
Well give them another soap. Why is this an issue for you?!!
U sound kinda racist
Love the winter theme soap! I love giving soap, but many of my friends are not Christian!! So winter would be great!
Thank you, Katie, for keeping your recipes free, I can't wait to try it ❤ happy birthday, Royalty Soaps❤

In my apartment, my bathroom was Christmas themed all year around, so a Christmas soap would fit but I'm an odd duck. My kitchen was Autumn themed.
That is cool.
I love this ❤
Do you make antibacterial soap?
This looks delicious 😂
i just purchased a lovely honey perfume and am on a whole honey scent kick so this is PERFECT! hopefully it doesn't sell out before i can grab one!!!
Ooo could you share which honey perfume? I love all things honey scented
Woohoo!!!🎉🎉🎉

Congratulations on 14 years of soap making. What was the purpose of adding the clay at the beginning?

Where is the link for the soap mold?
Hi, I’m new to your channel and love buying soap from smaller business owners. Question: are your soaps all melt and pour? Asking because I ordered soap in the past from another whose soaps had to cure for weeks, and by the time I got them, the smell was completely gone. I really want soap that smells good.
We carry cold process soap, melt and pour soap, and whipped soap too!! All soaps are clearly marked by typed on the website!
BUBBLES!!
:D
I have a soap I make using the honey water I have after rendering bees wax from my hive. I call it everything but the bee
I’m very curious what your new size is for your bars
It's interesting that peppermint is considered christmassy. I don't get that at all, I don't know why. We had candy canes on the tree when I was a kid too. I'm in the UK. It's such a cold flavour, warm things for winter make sense in my head!
I wonder if honey would be better in M&P since it’s already soponified? Especially if you add it in powder form and at a lower temp.
Normalize gifting holiday soaps at Thanksgiving! 😂
❤😊
That looks like you’ve changed your shape a little bit more rectangular as opposed to square?? Are they the same size weight wise?
Our normal bars are 6oz/170g; these are 4.5oz/127g. They weigh less and they cost less, but they will be packaged a little nicer than before!
I make soap.. I agree that the medicinal properties of honey might not survive saponfination but it’s my favorite of my soaps and I wonder how come the honey soaps are more velvety and make my hair nicer 🤔
How thick is the soap. Looks thicker than an inch
Missing gold glitter or gold drizzle on top!
Sometimes when I open a package I'll drop the bubble wrap on the floor and roll my desk chair over it just to hear the fast pops.
Why am I here this early?!!! Love youuu
I'd love to get some of the bars, but coconut allergy runs in my family. Can't touch it sadly. The soap looks amazing, though!
But I’m excited for The Sugar Plumb Fairy 🥺
Would you ever consider making a soap/set of soaps without almond oil? I love your soaps but I'll never be able to buy and use them because of an allergy and I imagine I'm not the only one.
Check out royalty soaps simplicity’s line. . I want to say the video from her makeign them said it was a different recipe.
