Most of the time, simple is best. Dot grid paper is one of the best things in the world to work with - just enough guidance so things can be straight, but not a full grid that can get in the way of being able to see what's being written down! Glad to see you back in a MTN as well! :D
+marceline_loves The passport size is really cute and if you prefer something small, it is a good size to get. However, it may not be that easy to obtain the inserts depending on where you are. Another size I like is the Moleskine pocket size. It's slightly taller than the passport size and doesn't to fit properly in the Midori cover. So I'm thinking about making a cover on my own. Thanks for watching!
I noticed that about the Moleskines. I live in Los Angeles. I was thinking of maybe getting small notebooks from the dollar store and cutting them down if I need to. If you have any links you're like to share for inserts that would be much appreciated. Again tfs great vid. New sub! :)
+marceline_loves Thank you very much! As for links, I purchase most of my inserts from shops here in Malaysia. I can recommend either www.tabiyoshop.com/ or www.stickerrific-store.com/ as these are the only two places I've ordered Midori inserts from. If you're in the US, you can probably check out Goulet Pens.
+DarkLittlePeople Thanks! Even if you can't find the original Midori notebooks, there are loads of other "fauxdori" options and they come in more sizes. In fact, you can make your own if you have the materials.
+PlannerBug TV oh i do make my own, both notebooks and fauxdoris, it's just that i really like muji aesthetics in general, and the little notebooks you're showing, with dotted grids and all, make me drool ! :D
Thanks for that shoutout to muji note book I didn’t know they did that size so was going to heavily invest in official TN inserts but I can now just go to my muji store and stock up
The Muji books are a great option but the paper quality is not as good as the Midori ones. Still, if you're not gonna use a lot of fountain pens and don't mind the bleed through, it shouldn't affect you.
LoopyCrafter ouu thanks ill keep that in mind im more into ball pens but would have to used a 0.38 muji pen and that ink so it might bleed as you say hmm
Yep, I understand what a shitajiki board is for but I don't like writing with a piece of plastic beneath. The texture feels slightly different. So I use it as a stamp board instead :-)
Hi lunch with me :D Love your set up and now i feel like making a passport size too although I am not sure I have anything to write honestly XD And where to get the little stamps of the camera and etc? I need them in my life!
+strawroot Ya, don't you feel special? Hahaha... I think you should try making the passport size too since we can get Muji notebooks here for quite cheap. They fit perfectly. I got the stamps from StudioL2E (google her shop). There are now loads of planner stamps available out there! Regarding the calendar, it's easier if you use grid paper. You need to divide the days across and down accordingly.
+Tokkiya I'm not sure what Muji calls that notebook but if you happen to see a "pocket size" at their store, it should be able to fit. The Muji measures 125mm x 88mm and the Midori brand notepad size is 124mm x 89mm. Hope this helps!
I really love your notebook! I also love that bookmark because of the stencils on it. I don't think you mentioned where your friend got it. Is it something we can order?
Hi Anna, thank you so much for watching and for subscribing too! I'm not sure if that bookmark ruler thing can be ordered anywhere. It's not something I come across very often. But Hobonichi has something similar, small stencils that can be used as a bookmark or ruler. They are made of plastic and kinda squarish in shape.
Hahaha, they are a fantastic substitute. Although it seems quite difficult to find the "passport" size notebooks at Muji lately. At least in Malaysia. I think they are discontinuing it?
I got it from Muji at Mid Valley Megamall some time back. I don't know if they are making these anymore but every once in a while I'll come by them at various Muji shops. Not a lot though.

+Jessica Abegg It is a fantastic format! And yes, it feels so good to be using the MTN again. I missed it.

Watching these notebooks get me so pumped. I want one, but the mark ups for the accessaries are ridiculous.
Drummergeorge so worth it though... Lol
you can easily make your own, even the notebooks.
Muji ones are dirt cheap.
Super Cute!! I've never used a midori before but I am investigating the passport size. Getting excited! >_< TFS!

Thanks!

I'd completely forgotten that Muji does passport sized notebooks! And for so cheap! Do you know how many sheets/pages they have?
Hello! There are 24 sheets which makes it 48 pages front and back. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
forgot to mention, I attempted to draw the monthly view calendar grid, but i did it so bad and it was so ugly.
Your idea on shitajiki is good too but it's intend for insert it under the page you write on so you don't get indention on the page :)

Oh and I just subscribed!
I didn't know muji had dot-grid notebooks that fit the Midori Passport TN. :O
Thanks for sharing!
P.S. Which size of muji notebook is it?

+PlannerBug TV thank you for the info.

Anna H You can get it on AliExpress for less than a dollar.
my secret is out! 😜I only use mujis in my tn. :)
Hahaha, they are a fantastic substitute. Although it seems quite difficult to find the "passport" size notebooks at Muji lately. At least in Malaysia. I think they are discontinuing it?
ahh they better not be.
I tried searching the MTN calender printable, but I can't seem to find it in the website! Do you remember where you found it? :)
+elepop Hi, you can find the downloads on this link. Looks like they have the 2016 calendars now.
www.travelers-company.com/products/trnote/download
PlannerBug TV Thank you so so much!
how did you insert the compass like that?
You can untie the string from the back of the leather cover and insert whatever charm you like. Hope that helps.
thanks for the helpful response.
Where did you purchase this particular one :)?
I got it from Muji at Mid Valley Megamall some time back. I don't know if they are making these anymore but every once in a while I'll come by them at various Muji shops. Not a lot though.

+scrapperncrafter Thank you! I really appreciate it :-)
