Yes, mostly likely so! I don’t really care for the use of watercolor pencils applied direct to paper. I usually touch the aqua pen or damp paint brush directly to the pigment of the watercolor pencil, and then apply the pigment to the paper using the aqua brush. If that makes sense... :). Sometimes I add extra details with the pencils direct to paper, and blend them out slightly, but I don’t use them so much direct to paper expecting to be able to get rid of all of the “lines”.
Wonderful information. What kind of pencil sharpener do you use? My prisma color pencils tend to break. I have tried several sharpeners but not satisfied with them. Thanks😁
Hi! I use an old battery operated Panasonic KP-4A model. It’s nothing fancy, but it does the job! I tend to apply too much “torque” to the wood with hand sharpeners, trying to take too large of cuts. The battery operated one not only has a longer chamber that keeps the pencil straight, but has a very gentle removal process.
Greetings from Buffalo, NY! Thanks so much for such a thoughtful and thorough tutorial! It’s much appreciated! The small bottle that I got from a convention a couple of years ago has a sponge on top, I wonder if Press N Seal would keep it from drying out?
Great info and demo! 💓
Thank you! Cheers!

Love working with Gamsol and paper stumps. The Gamsol blends the color pencil so beautifully!
I totally agree!
I use the prisms. I like your demo and that you used different brands of pencils! Great info! Tfs
You are so welcome!
Very informative. I have all the supplies but have never used them. Time to take them out the drawer. TFS
Glad it was helpful!
I have used water color pencils and a aqua pen, looks like you have a lot more control with gamsol paper pencil.
