What was your favorite performance by Roy Scheider?
My best role was as Jackie Scanlon in Sorcerer.
One of my favorite movies EVER! We're gonna need a bigger boat! RIP Roy. I will never forget you!
Mandela Effect.
"You're"
Roy was fabulous in Marathon Man. He and Dustin had tremendous chemistry.
Roy Scheider's starring performance in Bob Fosse's All That Jazz (1979) was awesome.
"It's show time ! "
Oh, wow. I didn't know nothing about him. He sure was perfect in JAWS. I was plenty traumatized as kid. I love them movie ❤
Thanks for telling his story.
IMO, if you want to see Roy in a truly great film performance, watch “All That Jazz”. Not that he didn’t have many other top notch performances, but ATJ showcases versatility one might not expect, and he nails it. I was indeed sorry we lost him so soon.
A beautiful man inside out RIP
Brilliant actor.
"gonna need a bigger coffin" - Roy was larger than life itself.....
RIP.......
Roy Scheider's journey from childhood illness to Hollywood stardom is both inspiring and tragic. Despite battling rheumatic fever and later cancer, his legacy as Chief Brody in 'Jaws' remains iconic. His untimely passing in 2008 left a void in cinema that's still felt today.

I remember the JAWS movies. I really liked him as an actor. He was awesome!!! I'm glad his story was told.
Once you see Jaws - you will never forget him. “The Seven Ups” is another great scary/thriller movie with him.
I always pass the place he passed away at on Kanis Rd, Heart Hospital.
I don't go in the water past my knees
What if you are with a woman 😅

Sharks can still get to you.
This guy is an awesome actor. I totally fall asleep to his 2010 Space Odyssey movie. Great actor.
(The French Connection) and the little known and underappreciated (The Seven-Ups) were 2 of my favorite movies of his
I saw him many times sitting at the counter , having his breakfast at the Amsterdam Diner in NYC. Regular guy. Missed
My mom died from Multiple Myeloma. It is a tough one to beat.
Ironical, he died of the same bacteria, which caused his Rheumatic Fever as a boy.
Click bait! It doesn’t tell any heart breaking information about his tragic death. He died of a perfectly normal condition many other people and die every day.
Roy was great as the Russian mob boss on "Third Watch." Dude could act.
Saw him once on Fifth Ave. in a tux. Called, "Hey Roy!" He just slightly turned his head as he walked on. Legend.
I woulda said hi back if you had called me Chief
"Smile, You Son-of-a.." BOOM! I still miss Roy, after seeing this vid, I gotta seek out his films I have yet to see.
I have had multiple myeloma for almost 19 years. I'm in a trial now, my second one bring given a highly experimental drug. So far I'm still in remission.
It was terrible to watch him bleed out from the stab wounds and exertion just to die in the sight of his brother
Now’s the chief in heaven having a drink 🥃 with Robert Shaw
He was a handsome man
I loved his work and he was a great actor. No matter how someone dies, Grunge will call it tragic because it's a form of clickbait. Still, I'm sorry he's gone.
"we're going to need a bigger boat"
"You're gonna"
I liked him but this over the top wording made me move on after 30 seconds. He was never even close to those other actors.
He was a lifelong smoker
Exactly, and it gave him cancer.
So what is your point?
@@markthomas2436 not true, smoking doesn’t cause multiple myeloma, and you can check any source you’d like to find that out.
@@markthomas2436Untrue. Multiple myeloma is a blood cancer, and smoking is neither a cause nor risk factor. No relationship whatsoever.
@@markthomas2436 untrue, look up multiple myeloma in any medical source.
The original Jaws was a worthwhile action movie but the sequels were like a sad joke .....
Any way, Roy Scheider was a versatile actor who kept the popcorn coming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol pwnt
