    Hey everybody, I feel like this goes without saying, but this fix isn't the best way to do it, only an option. If you aren't sure, just dont do it. I don't know your bike or your wiring, nor do I even own a sportster anymore. It worked perfectly for me and the time I used it, so I cannot help troubleshoot issues you may have. Ride safe y'all.

    Hi - Based in the UK and just bought a 2000 sportster and had the issues, where the flashers came on and didnt flash with LED's. Strangely the Hazards even with LED's flashed perfectly fine. I installed the relays and fixed the turn signals which now flash, but with the relays installed, the Hazards dont even come on - did you come across this?

      @tiburciopancotto 5 месяцев назад

      @@정성훈-b1t3x I managed to solve it with two 20w15R resistors, connected in parallel to the arrows. the connection was made in the front turn signal harness after the plug that comes from the main harness. since the resistor has no polarity, you connect one side to the positive wire and the other to the gnd.

    • @ZozzerRidez
      @ZozzerRidez  3 года назад +1

      Yep I matched the colors to the existing turn signal wiring, but at least for my model there's an exra wire. I think its blue, that is the running light wire. If you want them as running lights you will need a 2 to 3 wire converter. If not they only come on when you hit the turn signal.

    • @ZozzerRidez
      @ZozzerRidez  2 года назад +1

      Not quite, this interrupts the flow of electricity and forces a blink. The problem is the load has been changed, so the "proper" way would be to add in a load equalizer, something I have not done.

    Are the blinker lights supposed to be on when the bike is turned on?. My front ones stay on when cranked but the rear are not and they all blink properly. My Harley mechanic says they are but , I have never noticed that and I bought it new in 03. Is he wrong ?.

    Did the same process and still have hyper flash. I switched the wires for L & B just to see and my front signals had hyper flash while my rear signals seemed slow. Any ideas?

    • @ZozzerRidez
      @ZozzerRidez  3 года назад +1

      With the relays I used there is a small dial in the middle by the L and B terminals which you can rotate that adjusts the speed of the flash.(turning one way increases the rate of flash, the other slows it) I turned mine up to the quickest setting and both front and rear flash at the same speed. If it's an issue you had before installing the relays, it may be something else as this fix is for solid signal lights that don't blink at all when incorporating LEDs on a bike with incandescents, which messes with the load equalization thus causing them to stay solid.

    • @ZozzerRidez
      @ZozzerRidez  2 года назад +1

      Hyper flash was never my issue. This is typically a fix for signals that stay solid. Have you tried turning down the flash speed on the relays?

    Hi all, why not using load equalizers instead of blinker relays if the problem is the load on leds?

    • @ZozzerRidez
      @ZozzerRidez  2 года назад

      If your issue is hyperflashing a load equalizer is probably the way to go. As for me the issue was solid non-blinking signals. Flasher relays cost a whole lot less and you can get a pair in a couple days. There's always more than one way to solve a problem.

    • @BrassAmTV
      @BrassAmTV 2 года назад +1

      @@ZozzerRidez I was just guessing the hyper flashing and solid non-blinking were from the same root cause, like very high speed epilepsy leading to immobility... I have solid non-blinking only on right signal. My guess is a defect of the turn signal canceller. Will replace with the Badlands turn signal canceler which includes also the load equalizer, and I'll be ready for Led someday... Little more expensive, but for me, relays are probably just a workaround, hiding the cause (load on Led not adapted).

      This method is just a quick fix for solid signals that won't blink. If you want to drop a little more money or have a different issue, a load equalizer is probably best.

    I repeat do not butcher your wire harnesses like this guy did. You can easily unlock the wires from the plug and remove them. Uncrimp the pin from the wire if you really can't wait to acutely do the mod the correct way and you're all about butchering "rigging" in the meantime. That way when and IF you decide to redo everything and go back to original and do the mod correct. You can replace the pins and lock the wires back in the factory plug. Sorry I'm ocd as f$ck when it comes to wiring. And really hate building ppl new wire harnesses because someone decided to rig one and ends up frying everything because they didn't know what they was doing. Wait actually do it this way and come see me when everything goes haywire. Just be ready for the bill and hopefully you have $$$ because it's definitely going to cost you 😂
