- Gore Magala are monsters of an unknown type introduced in Monster Hunter 4. Gore Magala is a very unique wyvern, sharing traits and similarities to that of the Elder Dragons, possessing six limbs, including the clawed wings on its back. Though, its overall appearance and stance resembles a quadrupedal wyvern. Its body is covered in dark exoskeleton plates, with notable features including the hidden feelers that are folded alongside its face, the lack of visible eyes and fanged jaws that are actually parts of its external armor plates. The other unique part is its wings, which are covered in jet-black fur that resemble a tattered and ragged cape. The claws on its wings are extremely prehensile, and even seem to possess opposable thumbs. They are used for grabbing, help at running and maintaining stability. When not engaged in combat, Gore Magala tends to cloak its body with its wings by latching them onto its back.

The subtle but audible didgeridoo playing in some parts of the theme really describes how mysterious Gore is
I always thought it sounded like the frenzy virus pooling around everything gore touches. This ominous evil infectious cloud.
The didgeridoo seems like an reoccurring instrument in all themes relating to the Frenzy Virus. So Gore, Chaotic Gore, 4U Apexes but not Shagaru apparently, but I guess that would make his theme sound a bit off.
I miss the flutes, tho. They were a lot more there in the OG ost, or at least it felt like that

@@athos9293 that’s why I didn’t include that piece. The frenzy story has been replaced with blood light afflicted. That was obviously the case with gore everywhere outside 4/4U

Gore was always my fav, and my heart was almost exploding from the amount of joy I felt when fighting him the first time in Sunbreak. He's as perfect as the day I lost him.
All 3 of the Magala's i was happy to see return, they complete my experience
0:46 always gets me. love Gore's sinister complexion and just how more godly they made him in sunbreak.
He carted me 3 time and I had to redo his quest with different weapons much harder then gu and I love it

MH4U was my first monster hunter game so seeing my necromancer dragon boi back again is probably the best thing I did not ask for.
One things for sure I beat the frenzy virus before and I'll do it again!
He is THE dragon of necromancy. My friend and I think that the frenzy kills its host and then reanimates them as it's own until the host can no longer fight (either the energy stored is gone or it is "killed" again)
@@nintygc iirc, when a host dies from frenzy, more gore magalas can be born from it, like parasites. Something like that at least, since Gore reproduces asexually by basically growing spawn from the frenzy virus, kinda similar to how nergigante reproduces by literally having old spines grow an entirely new nergigante that is basically a clone of the one who the spimes came from
@@nintygc that's not exactly how Frenzy works but it is somewhat nice concept
Frenzy is just a virus. The user gets infected, they get massively powerful but at cost of their stamina and defenses lowering
NOW, when the user with Frenzy overcomes the infection, they become Apex. This state MAY NOT BE the same state that was introduced on MH Rise but basically it is a Frenzy monster with no Frenzy negative debuffs. They hit hard, they tank hits and they move MEGA FAST
@@ThePortalDark I agree. I know it isnt how the virus works, but it is our own head canon because of their change in behavior, agression, and how, in the zinogre ecology for instance, they look like they died instead of sleep.

@Matthew 575 Actually, its more of a "chosen one" thing. While one is able to fully morph into a Shagaru, there are cells in the bodies of gores that inhibit full molting, making the rest sadly become Chaotics. Its not really a matter of disruption; rather a "given right to ascend" while the rest are left to rot.
This monster is soo damnn cool, so glad capcom brung him back to introduce him to new players like me, who wants to get into mh. Such a cool ass monster, one of my fav mons in sunbreak atm, it goes malzeno and shugaru his 2nd form.
Two words describe the feeling you get fighting Gore: Uh Oh.
Shagaru: FUCK
Gore is probably the best warmup for elder dragons back in 4U and GU, since if you have a hard time with him back in those games you would really have a bad time fighting Shagaru, Toaster, Kushala and etc.
I love this theme but they took out one of my favorite parts from the original theme :( in the original, there's a part right before it loops back to the beginning that I thought sounded awesome. Especially the violin at that part.
This one is still great and I'm very happy with it.

My first time fighting Gore Magala was in Sunbreak. It became enraged right at 1:13. I knew I was in for an epic battle when the BGM goes hard like that

I need to get back into Rise. I fucking love me the Magalas. I played 4 alot but not to master rank. What made me love Gore Magala was how much of a villain he feels. To me he is one of many monsters who show his distain for the hunters. Yes I know its in his lore that he basically eats entire ecosystems to reach his next stage in life but to me in the cutscenes it always felt like he hated the hunter. Everytime the hunter showed up it spoiled a meal for it and sometimes it felt like he was hunting other hunters. Plus the final fight against it felt so worthy of a finale of a anime. The Hunter and Magala stare at each other on the mountain top as both know the winner can either save or destroy life around them
It sucks they removed the climax part, but I still love this theme more than the og one
I know a some people are disappointed by the end of the loop , but honestly I love how this version make gore more mysterious

As I find this version too "calm" this is still great
I love how every monster hunter piece of media the overwhelming majority of likes and comment replies are all positive and just loving the experience,
and then you scroll down and its like every kid and contrarian who has ever heard of the series starts making one off comments that are rarely more than one reply and its always trying to validate their opinions by swearing they're experts on creating whatever everyone else is enjoying, and then proceeding to gatekeep.
Then they play through the game anyway insisting they were miserable the entire time and it had nothing to do with them being just self-hating masochists in general.
Dunno how you can even hate Rise, it’s easy yeah but damn are the fights incredibly fun now
My favorite monster. The theme is great but I was left expecting the chorus to come and it never did.
I loved addition of Gore Magala in Sunbreak. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was my actual first game in the series, where I completed it from beginning of story to end with Shagaru Magala. Just its design of being an actual threat to both humans and monsters around it, is what made it a cool addition to the series, along with having the iconic ??? classification. I'm so glad to have him back in the modern games.

@@jazzratoon yeah 4U can be really hard, but there are a lot of cool Monsters in Highrank village like Azure and Silver Rathalos, Brute Tigrex, Stygian Zinogre, Seregios, etc.

0:32 tbh i expected the violins to go hard in this part but it turned out to be almost non existent and made that specific part less intense than the old theme lol. Its still good for what it is and still an awesome theme overall

Sounds like this theme was made with computer software rather than actual instruments. It's so close to the original but unfortunately a downgrade in terms of sound.

Some new things I really like, some changes I don't really like. To me, they're both very good, I'd put them on the same level (which is usually not, the case, I tend to prefer old themes and dislike new ones)

My only gripe with this rendition is that they completely took out that really intense part in his 4/G theme, near the end of the song. A shame since I really liked that part, but the theme still does feel intense either way

I know Gore Magala is classified as ??? but I like to think he is the only elder dragon (or heck black dragon) who can be captured as far as I know. When I saw that Selvas wanted me to catch a Gore Magala I was like “For real!?”
No way it could ever be a black dragon. It’s about as strong as Seregios if their turf war is anything to go off of. I think Seregios actually does more damage too Gore than Gore does to Seregios? I’d say it’s an extremely low tier elder dragon that’s weak enough to be captured until it turns into Shagaru Magala. After all, Shagaru is an elder dragon, and Gore is just a young Shagaru

@@Zerethos I think they changed how strong the Frenzy Virus is. Gore used to be a walking natural disaster, but now I’m pretty sure the Virus doesn’t even spread out for more than a few kilometers

Everybody is talking about the missing part near the end. And yeah, I'm disappointed about that part too. But something bothers me more, those string sections at 0:32, 0:35, 0:39, and 0:42. They just... don't work as well as the original in my opinion. Idk, I think in the original those strings had a nice flow to them, but now they are really staccato, which I don't really like. I get a completely different vibe from this one than the original. That staccato thing is kind of present throughout the whole song as well. I feel like there's just a lot of parts in the song where the noise just feels like it almost completely stops for a moment, and I don't like it.

Kinda hate the MH team’s impulsive need to rework themes that were already masterpieces. REALLY hated it in World; Rise I understood more because everything seemed to be in service to the more Japanese cultural aesthetic, but Gore’s theme here is more of that World-type shit where they just shit on a theme and call that a modernization or improvement. More than anything it just makes it more annoying for me when I try to find and listen to the original theme, because I guarantee that whatever new shit is always gonna be the first result from here on out.
ikr, making themes for rise was unnecessary imo and rise was a huge step back from world
It makes sense that newer games get newer versions of themes. The older games used outdated instrument soundfonts so old songs would sound weird next to new ones. Hearing old kushala's theme right after hearing Nergigante's new fully orchestrated theme would just be confusing. Plus this way we're always getting new takes on the themes. You can like the old ones better, but I even prefer some of the newer versions. World's Glavenus and Zinogre themes are the superior versions to me.
@@EmmyEntropy2000 however, monsters like Gore, Deviljho, zinogre, valstrax and more used LIVE RECORDED INSTRUMENTS were as world and rise remakes are almost ALWAY midi instruments.

umm? Are you listening to the wrong monster theme? I think you have mistaken gore for seregios right now. Gore, least memorable! Hell nah, he's one of the better ones. If he was the least memorable then u wouldnt have the whole fandom asking for his return. And no this theme is not as good as his old one.
oh i misread your comment, my point still stands with his new theme vs old theme. The new theme lacks the climax the old theme previously had.
His theme is too cinematic to be memorable so I wouldn't say that its theme being not memorable is a bad thing as it really suits gore. Especially with the amount of phases gore has, a cinematic theme like this is good.
