His mother carried the pain of leaving him behind, you can clearly see she was haunted by the thought of leaving him alone in a hospital and all her emotions were released when she saw her child. I hope he keeps in touch with his biological family, it is a blessing to be loved by many share it and be thankful you have it.

I was adopted and I found both sides of my biological families. It’s a feeling you can’t describe. That look from the mother, I’ve seen that look too. My own mother gave me that same look. The look of relief having been able to see their child after so many years. And the brothers looking so similar. When you’re adopted, that’s really all you hope to see in your life, someone that looks like you. People take that for granted. We never see anyone that looks like us. We are never compared to anyone like you have your mother’s ___ or your father’s ____. It’s really hard so when you meet one person that even kind of looks like you, it’s the best feeling. We love the families that raise us, they are our family first and foremost but this just fills a hole that nothing else can. Love this video.

I needed to cry, it was very emotional and the heartache that mother had to have endured all those years. Also other comments about how he reacted when he first meets them at the airport, you have to understand he was a child (not a baby) when he was adopted so I'm sure he grew up at the orphanage and didn't have the bonding skills that most individuals acquire as a baby/toddler. He might have had great adoptive parents but he didn't acquire the emotional bonding. Also there was no mention of the father.

Also he doesn't have that bond and connection since he grew up his whole life in another family. He needs to build and find that love all over again. I liked how him and his brother were already joking with each other in the kitchen. Technology can keep us apart but it can also do great and amazing things proven in this video.

Watching this made me emotional, that is a very loving family. And it’s just so obvious that this woman had suffered a lot because of not knowing her son’s whereabouts for such a long time. I have a similar story, but I sure didn’t have the same kind of welcoming.

It's great to know that she mourned being separated from her son due to political upheaval in the region and not because she *didn't* want him. That relief, joy, pain, and regret was so palpable in her cries when she first saw him after so many years apart! It must have been surreal for him, but I'm so happy she was able to see that he has grown up healthy, safe, and happy.

Just made me burst to tears watching how his mom immediately hugged him while also crying. I could understand that, because I'm a mom too, there were time when my son away abroad for student exchange, and when he got home I did cry for happiness, while Benjamin's (Ruslan's) mom the cry were between long for him, happy to see him again and guilt ...
Bless them all and bless Kyld too.

Kyle, your work is remarkable. My husband and I spent this evening's dinner discussing the particular sensitivity you have for the complexities of family, culture, and geography. You are unusually genuine and inspiring. To meet someone in the airport and then end up chronicling his life changing visit is a testament to your ability to appreciate individuals as you encounter them. I am still amazed by your own family's story of the deceit of your mother's father and how it has created a legacy of of innocent siblings and cousins who uncomfortable with one another. I have subscribed. I know I will be enriched by your efforts to describe human experience that is individual, ethnically particular, but ultimately universal.

But for him it's been 28 yrs in America and his reaction is expected. He just needed time with them and how awesome he adjusted quickly through their love for him. Beautiful ❤️
