I like to clarify the fact that khachapuri is an Armenian dish the name itself indicates that’s Armenian Christian dish. Again this dish was made at breakfast time especially during Easter time. It means khach is cross in Armenian language apur means food or dish in Armenian. Originally formed like an oval shape with the two sides looking like cross but when it was passed to other cultures they changed the shape from a cross looking to just plain oval shape. Most of the Armenian foods was passed from the Turks to other cultures or by Armenian immigrants who lived in Georgia or other parts of the world even before the genocide. Just like lahmajoun it’s Armenian dish and it’s original name is missa loosh. Meat on thin Lavash bread. Sorry but It’s a lot of history I just can’t cover it up in one comment.
