Your instruction and safety drills and survival training is outstanding!! There is no way that I would go into an underwater cave and dive without this kind of meticulous training. Every detail matters. Every safety precaution matters. Every drill is mandatory if you want to enjoy the caves and come out alive at the end.The footage is stunning and I can certainly see the attraction. This makes the 3rd time that I have watched your video. I was born with spina bifida and I am disabled. I will never be able to travel to these beautiful places and experience cave diving myself, but that's OK because I feel like I am there with you. I can almost feel the warm water rushing all around me and the feel of the sunshine on my face when I surface at the end of the dive. I feel like I am there with you. Thank you for taking me along !!!
WOW - I really admire your training for emergencies such as entanglement, losing line, out of air, etc. !!! BLINDFOLDED !!!!! My son, during his PADI Instructor cert was generally harassed by his trainers and that made him such a confident diver. Even I, at 63 years old and 500+ dives would like more training. Anyway, I am very impressed. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I'm thinking about becoming a cave diver. I've never dove before so obviously I want to start open water scuba diving first. Videos like these really do help to understand the effort and amount of training that is required for a safe cave dive and it inspires me to one day become one of this technical divers. Thanks for motivating me into a new hobby I would have never even slightly considered without channels like yours or dive talk or Rory the cave mapper. I just worry that I'm too old to start diving...
Update on your progress? I was also inspired by alot of what I saw on RUclips. I am rescue certified now, scheduled for dry suit and sidemount classes, and hoping to become cave certified in 2024.
This videography is fantastic, the caves are more than stunning! Congratulations to the team on a challenging course! Whilst I'm a backmounted, learning sidemount is definitely on my to do list!
Amazing video. Just about to start my Cave Diving path next weekend. This video got me excited, but also showed me a lot about what I need to consider. Cant wait to start now.
I have the uttermost respect for cave divers. I and fascinated by Florida springs and over the years have visited dozens of them. I see cave divers all the time. This is something I know I could never do. Cave diving is one of those things that you have to have the brain wired in certain way to do it.
Salve pratico la subacquea da poco , ma le immersioni in grotta mi affascinano e intimoriscono nello stesso tempo !!!! Ottima la preparazione superbo il risultato . Video stupendo !!!!!! Chissà magari un giorno ........
***** Oh I didn't get that :D Well then good job holding the camera and special thanks to Fredrik Liljeblad for the editing :P The video really shows what a good cave training is all about :)
***** haha I am surprised you did not know it was me videoing, that really was magical editing work ;) For others watching this, the skill of videoing divers in training, has took me years to master. It is not something everyone can do especially in the cave training environment. Safety and conservation must always come first before getting the video or photo shots.
looks realy good, i have sidemounted for years now (1500+ dives) and some cave diving (No advanced stuf) and this looks realy good, some time in the future i will do a full cave :)
I have never had any interest in cave diving. But your video piqued my interest to say the least. Im not ready to make the leap yet but im at the never say never point due to your awesome video.
this is absolutely outrageous (in the best possible way)!! what a video! Do you allow your students to use back mount for full cave certification or only side mount? PS: I'm only a master diver with PADI but my plan is to stay in Mexico for 20 days in 2017 for full cave certification. By then I might have close to 100 dives.
Absolutly stunning video, I love it! I've got a question regarding day7 and the circuit: Did you guys (on the 2nd dive) get so close to the cookie that the cameraman just was able to sneak away for a couple of seconds to go and get it?
Forgive me if this is a dumb question but if you are following a line out in zero visibility could you attach yourself to the line using a retracting reel or something similar so that if you drop the line you can find it again? also, why has nobody invented a reel line that feels different sliding through your fingers if you are heading the wrong way? Something like scales..
There's always some risk but all of these drills are first practiced repeatedly in open water then gradually stepped up. At some point you have to practice in the cave otherwise you'll never earn the confidence you need in a real emergency. The instructor takes the students comfort level, gas consumption and other factors like the fragility of the cave into account. Some, like the lost line drill (where students will hit the floor and ceiling) is done in dedicated "dead zone" sections where the community has accepted that damage will occur. Every instructor does it in the same area to keep that damage contained.
They had completed a 5 day Sidemount Essentials in water course with me in Gozo, Malta. Prior to starting this cave training course in Mexico. Also they did some practice after the initial training at there home in Sweden.

There's few private production videos this long worth watching to the end. Yours is one of them. Thanks for this.

How’s that going? Cave diver yet?
Ya right 😂
As long as you're fit ....no problem. Good luck achieving your dreams my friend.

@@ChrisLee-ws7gr are you now cave certified ?
This was an excellent production in both content and video capture. Thank you. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cave diving is both terrifying and beautiful at the same time. Just the thought of losing light makes me queasy.
This videography is fantastic, the caves are more than stunning! Congratulations to the team on a challenging course! Whilst I'm a backmounted, learning sidemount is definitely on my to do list!
Great video and great way to understand the path, the difficulties and the hard work mandatory for cave diving in the appropriate way.

Best cave diving video on RUclips!
After diving in Cenotes including the pit, dos ojos, calavera, taj maha, tak be ha, and angelita, full cave course is a bucket list item for me
This is absolutely amazing! Made me want to go to Mexico to do cave diving cert soooooo bad!
Thank you for sharing this with us.
What a fantastic course! So good to see such comprehensive training!
Fantastic filming and edit!!! It looks like it was a huge challenge, but for the right reason.
Great Video!! great to see how much time and effort you put in these videos :)

thanks for inspiring and look forward to reaching that training level.
Amazing.
I’ve read some reviews where the cave instructors are brutal. Yours appears to have been a good balance.
Exceptional video Steve! Some of the best 44mins of skills and scenarios I have ever witnessed. Ace!
Nicely documented! Love watching it!
Thank you for share the experience.
A realy good documentation, easy to understand.
This video was fantastic. Thanks!
I don’t want to cave dive but I kinda want to do the training. It seems like really good training.
I have never had any interest in cave diving. But your video piqued my interest to say the least. Im not ready to make the leap yet but im at the never say never point due to your awesome video.
Superb training
God that looks fun. GREAT VIDEO!

Great video..
Great video quality...
Fantastic!
Superb.....
Who are the instructors they seem amazing?
Agree we the guy said before: NO WORDS...
Forgive me if this is a dumb question but if you are following a line out in zero visibility could you attach yourself to the line using a retracting reel or something similar so that if you drop the line you can find it again?

Super
what happens if the line break and your flash light are running low ? .... must be a very scary moment....
You have a Backup light
Wonderfull job :)
What torch and camera do you use Steve?
Isn't it a bit risky to simulate malfunctions when u are actually in the cave??
There's always some risk but all of these drills are first practiced repeatedly in open water then gradually stepped up. At some point you have to practice in the cave otherwise you'll never earn the confidence you need in a real emergency. what initial training did this student have? Did he have the same level as the intro to cave?
They had completed a 5 day Sidemount Essentials in water course with me in Gozo, Malta. Prior to starting this cave training course in Mexico. Also they did some practice after the initial training at there home in Sweden.
So the students in this video have already been trained in cavern diving? Or was that their first time inside a cavern?
Steve what's that awesome sound from 39:00.. ?
Can't find the soundtrack anywhere! Can somone help?
Hah. I knew that was the Cenotes right away!
What kind of dive computer is the camera man using?
I think it's an XDeep Black
Ah got it - fortadelis - another world
@divetalk
what is the soundtrack at 25:26

People don’t know this is not as easy as it looks.
If I was younger I would do this . . .
