LMAO at Jocelyn kindly shading Taku's choice of sleeping pad. I do the same to my man, questioning his choice without openly saying "I told you so... but this is what you wanted, even though I did my research and suggested XYZ, but its your choice.." 😂 except with us, in the end, he blames me for letting him make the wrong choice, lol its comical. We both love your videos, brings us a lot of joy!
You guys should call out this channel in more outdoor chef life videos! I've watched those for so long and just realized yall have a second channel from the new poke pole video!
a trick when blowing up sleeping pads is to close it...roll it up from the bottom then blow again, really roll it like rolling up a sleeping bag....like once to three times....gets them nicely filled. edit: the drone shots are great. More camping stuff.
I did that too when I was still living in a van. Took off one day and went on a rambling road run up 101 to Vancouver BC in a beat up old Dodge van. (6 years ago) I did that same trip about 20 years prior to that on my BMW R90. Living in a van in the woods for those weeks I wandered about was the best time I ever had. Sure, I got stuck near Corvallis, Or for four days in a series of blizzards while my windshield wipers quit working but opening up the side doors at sunrise to see the most idyllic snow covered forest setting to sip at my coffee with is priceless.
Greetings from Thornton Colorado!! This is the area I grew up in as an Army brat. My dad was a drill sergeant at Ft. Ord when it was open. Went to Seaside High School. Brings back so many memories. We used to Hang out in and around Carmel and the Sur areas. We never ever, ever drank beers or other shenanigans lol. We guzzled our beers lol. Thanks for the content and I actually opened link in your last video and saw grill.
Cool video! Yes, I’d like to see more :-). I agree on the bio degradable wipes for cleaning, if you have no safe water source at hand. From my experience they work well and are a great way to keep yourself tidy when you’re camping in remote areas. Some hint to all (I guess you know about that): Do not expose your self-inflating sleeping mattresses for more than some minutes to the sun. Even in winter. The persistent heat will eventually melt the glue that keeps the pockets within the sleeping mattress in place, no matter how expensive or affordable the mattress is. The exposed spot of the mattress will turn into a growing blob of air. You can’t sleep on that surface anymore, I tried :-). 13:04: Ok, there is a bunny next to the rock. But what’s that little fellow running from left to right some seconds later around the rocks in the background at camp site 9? 13:59: Wow, the fog at the coast line is worth a view alone, not to mention the sea. This camping spot is noted on my list.
Such a great campsite...no h2o throws some off but, not enough. If we were going for a weekend trip we'd send one of our group up on Wednesday to assure having one or two sites by Friday. Sites 8 & 9 you get to hear the ocean all night long. We use to launch zodiacs just down the road for some of the best dive experiences available anywhere.
Darn. You guys make me think every meal is a foraged and caught wonder of seafood. I'm still jealous of you guys for having the ocean nearby. My fishing experiences are about either starving or just dipping a line in the water as something to do while standing around. Winter camping FTW! Snow and ice here in Ontario, Canada and still awesome camping.
We got campsite 8 here before. We like reserving so we can get the nice spots :P Yessss more camping videos. Me and my husband got the firebox because we saw it on outdoor chef life.
Hey! This was really a fun video to watch AND I learned a few things too. I've never heard Joz talk so much! Great to get her perspective on several things. Loved the format and finally getting to know where you actually are located during the filming. Thanks!
just a suggestion, even though this is a separate channel than outdoor chef, you can also include a bit of the fishing footage so it gives your new viewers a reason to check out that channel in case they never seen it.
Have you heard of tree bones resort? I got to camp there for a night & go to their amazing omakase dinner. My mom and I went on a 3 week camping trip last summer from crescent city, CA all the way down to Big Sur & then back through Arizona to get home (NM)
Wanted to suggest checking out klymit sleeping pads and ov sleeping bags. Love the show already watched all camp chef videos. Good luck from washington and safety to you two.
My favorite camping area every year, a good campground you would really enjoy is limekiln state park not to far up the hwy from there. Trust me if you can stay there do it you wont be disappointed. Love both channels I dont fish very much but love the outdoors 👍👍
Very nice! A inexpensive way to upgrade the sleeping pad use the mylar windshield screen (shiny side up) between either the bag and pad or pad and ground to reflect bodyheat or insulate from cold ground you get them cheap from dollar stores lots of good things for camping can be had on the cheap 😁😆🤣🤣
Yes, love camping. Can you suggest poles to use. Have not fished for years, 66 now, and dad and grandpa use to set me up. Been battling cancer and want to start fishing again.
Spectacular views guys 😉👌🏼🔥! Thanks 4 showing the setup. I wonder if i could get a spot during the summertime? Anywho, cant wait till the next upload...🍻’z Fam
When you are camping near the car, you are better off using those folding foam pads from Amazon or similar sites. They are inexpensive and you do not need to inflate them and they never deflate. It helps that 4 inches of foam cushion beats any 1 inch squishy air mattress when sleeping.
It's because we started out with moto-camping so we were pretty limited on what we could bring. We'll probably end up buying some camp furniture though!
Maybe a suitcase can be use to store those pads? Used wipes in the military , not my cup of tea , especially if it’s hot and humid or I have been sweating a lot , I need RUNNING water
4 years later watching this video, I’m finally camping at Kirk Creek! Thanks Taku and Jocelyn!
It amazes me how perfect for each other these guys seem to be truly look like souls mates
Really loving the second channel and the "behind the scenes" goings on! :D
Thank you! :D

I’ve been watching you all for a few years and just wanted to say Jocelyn, you are a badass! Taku, don’t ever let her go ❤️

I’ve never camped so letting me know what I would need if I went camping is very helpful. Thank you Taklyn. Love the videos. Keep shooting.

nice work. Pro tip - ditch the stuff sacks for the pads, I use velcro straps.
Yes, love camping. Can you suggest poles to use. Have not fished for years, 66 now, and dad and grandpa use to set me up. Been battling cancer and want to start fishing again.
Nice passing through the branches with the camera!
Great video you two! Keep them coming on both channels!

Yes please more camping videos!
Jocelyn throwing shade at Taku's sleeping matt lol
That’s cool you camp with not so many items. When I go, I can barely fit everything in my truck bed. Lol. I bring way to much crap.
It's because we started out with moto-camping so we were pretty limited on what we could bring. We'll probably end up buying some camp furniture though!
Taklyn the World nice. I’ll be looking forward to what else you buy.
Maybe a suitcase can be use to store those pads?
Used wipes in the military , not my cup of tea , especially if it’s hot and humid or I have been sweating a lot , I need RUNNING water
