Penetrating chat + beer - this video is a definite winner! I used to like Tiger Trap, so it's good to see the Softies are still going. Chime School sounded lovely too.
Oooh, Gift. They sound very cool. I like those bands that have both female/male vocals. Their chord progressions sound very good as well. Investigating...
Holy smokes, the coveted and highly sought after, Douche Seal of Approval. Say No More! I’m on board! It also sounded great which was a plus. Really loved Straight Arrow, need to see if I can locate that one also. The traffic, I find that quite entertaining to watch, just waiting for a wreck. Denver has a few coffee shops and bars that only play vinyl I have seen craft brewery’s selling vinyl. Drinking beer and buying records don’t mix well for me. Everything sounds better after a few beers!
I think they might be on to something with getting record collectors drunk in store. Loosens up the wallets. I definitely enjoy watching the traffic as long as it isn’t from a car. Gotta go motorcycle taxi to get anywhere quickly. Cheers!🍻
Yeah, lots of shops in the city here. Prices seem fairly high across the board - probably because everything comes from outside the country. I plan to do some videos of at least a couple of the shops at some point.
I went to a vinyl record bar in Seoul called Blue Monday that actually serves American craft beers. They even give you a sticky note to request whatever you’d like, too. I had a blast sharing requests with friends Completely agree on the Chime School album. I didn’t quite enjoy the first album nearly as much as the second, but I’m still sinking my teeth into that one, so to speak. I also find myself in the same boat as you with the GIFT album. It just sounds a bit too much like a mish mash of other artists on Captured Tracks. Will need to listen more to base a full judgement, however Have you by chance listened to the new Wishy album? I really enjoyed it, and was hoping it’d be a part of some IDP!
That sounds like my kind of bar for sure. I am able to get more and more American craft beers over here but they come at a steep price. I’ve got Wishy on my list - I should get it in to an IDP soon. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Cheers!
I knew when I saw that Chime School video a couple of months ago that this was right up the Douche's alley (so to speak). I stumbled across Straight Arrows on Bandcamp last and thought maybe I'd found one the Douche overlooked. Silly me. As for Gift, it worries me that they look too cool, though I didn't mind the song. By the way, why are the song clips so much louder than the spoken bits? I'm cranking the volume to hear what the Douche is saying then get blown out of the room by the music. Other than that, another great video.
Thanks for letting me know about the volume issue. I knew it was a bit out of whack but not that much. I’m sure it is an issue with something I should be adjusting when I assemble the video. Hopefully I can at least get it a little more tolerable. Cheers! 🍻
Interestingly I finally got around to buying The Sonics remasters on the Big Beat label, also The Wailers (not the Bunny one). All hail GARAGE ROCK! Which is the stronger release the 2014 Straight Arrows Rising or the new one? Gotta get 'em both?
Definitely used to be lagers only. The options here seem to be multiplying and when I was in the Philippines recently they also seemed to have lot more beer varieties on offer. Of course there is also American craft beer on offer for insane prices. Cheers! 🍻
GIFT should have maybe spelled their name with a few more F's. Or maybe substituted the F for a V. That would have been cool. That way they could have used lower case letters and not have come off so loud and brash and shouty. If you're gonna use another bands name you might as well go big, like call yourself The Beeeetles or Lead Zeppilen. I'm excited to check out the new Chime School. I listened to the first one a few times but feel like I should go back to it after hearing you talk about it here...
Sometimes you have to yell to get people’s attention. I think you might be on to something with the extra F’s - at least one extra one would be very cool, indeed. 🍻 🍻
Straight Arrows sounds like a new fav.
Worth checking out for sure. 🍻

Always love to get a good penetrating chat in. Thanks for hanging out. 🍻 🍻

Glad you are digging that one. Thanks for hanging out. Cheers!
Great stuff as usual Sam. Love the new Chime School- might even be better than the debut! Take care. Matt
I think you might be right on that. Could be the superior album for sure. Cheers!

GIFT 🎁 sound GREAT to ME 🎸
I was thinking some folks might dig it for sure. Thanks for hanging. Cheers!
i was going to ask about record stores in thailand. that vinyl bar sounds cool.
Yeah, lots of shops in the city here. Prices seem fairly high across the board - probably because everything comes from outside the country. I plan to do some videos of at least a couple of the shops at some point.
I saw Luna at a venue combo of laundromat and music club. Beer.
That sounds like someplace I’d like to visit. I have seen Luna at several different venues but never had the pleasure at a laundromat. 🍻
I had the last Chime School CD and it didnt take. I am willing to try again tho🎉🎉
Yeah, I definitely think it is possible someone who didn’t like that first one might be able to get in to this one. Cheers!
@TheVinylDouche I'm kinda getting some They Might Be Giants vibes from it.

I think if you like it a little more abrasive you should probably go with Rising. Love The Sonics - might have to put on Boom today. Cheers!
Yeah... SE Asia is lagers only. There was a Thai bar in Tokyo they was a bar/record shop like that.
Definitely used to be lagers only. The options here seem to be multiplying and when I was in the Philippines recently they also seemed to have lot more beer varieties on offer. Of course there is also American craft beer on offer for insane prices. Cheers! 🍻
@@TheVinylDouche all you need is some of that Red Horse
@JGYokohama1 indeed. Had a long night with Red Horse - gets things going for sure.
