As a former track attendant for a 3 story karting track, ive seen people get hit so hard they filled their hands with blood, ive seen seizures, and ive seen people catch air, and go karts completley demolished. Ive also heard stories of a kart completely jumping over another racer. This crash is NOTHING!!! (Dont be afraid of it though, just dont EVER stop or even use the brakes unless the karts go over 45mph)
Almost killed my friend at K1. He spun out on a turn and I hit him full speed and landed on top of him. Luckily he’s a big boy 5’10 270 Lbs 😂 so he was basically holding the cart with his back. I was so scared and he was laughing underneath me
I was in a league race and saw a driver get his shoe ripped off and the steering wheel bent when a kart went over him. Personally, I had back and rib pain for 6 weeks after being t-boned after skidding to avoid a crash like the one in this video.

As a former league racer this really isnt anything. On bad nights there were multiple karts on top of eachother throughout the night. I once got turned and had a kart hit me head on and land its front nose piece onto my steeringwheel.
I understand that it probably hurt, but you can’t take a corner and turn your whee to the opposite direction of the turn so rapidly, you have to kind of let the wheel fall back I to place quickly, and you shouldn’t stop, skid, or drift. However, don’t brake like that on a tight turn/hairpin. Overall, it’s about knowing how to race efficiently and making split second decisions.
If the rear end is sliding, you absolutely should be steering in the opposite direction to catch it. His steering was fine but he had to stay in the throttle.
When i went go karting in february, i was coming around the corner at about 60 km/h, my brother inlaw was just around the corner, in my lane, the guy working told him to slow down and move to the left, (right into my lane) i had to slam on my brakes, i slid out took out the wall, if i didnt hit my brakes, i would have hit my brother in law very hard, instead i hit the wall like Dale Earnhardt (but i lived)
Dont break too hard on corners especially when your speed is moderate. Your rear wheels locked and you over steered, causing you to stop moving. Hence being crashed into

You'd think someone going on a racetrack could manage putting their helmet on correctly for the sake of their own safety. How difficult can it be, there are only 2 steps. Choose the correct size, if in doubt choose the tighter one and secondly, adjust the single strap there is as tight as possible. If it doesn't fit don't get in the kart...
Most people at an indoor kart track have little or no experience. If no one tells them to buckle it, half of them won't bother to do it. I've even seen someone hit a wall, have the helmet pop off, and just slide it back on when it was handed back. It's the track workers' responsibility to at least tell people to buckle it in the briefing if not check.

I once had a go kart crash like this, I was coming to the hair pin on a track but someone was stuck where my driving line would be, and thus I hit them without having enough time to react and then a bunch of other drivers also came down and hit me
I did that before and that is a result of braking while accelerating and it makes a little drift so yeah don’t do that if you want to get a faster lap slow down before the turn and another you paid for the whole track use the whole track

The problem is that if they brake hard, they end out with no control. Indoor karts only have rear brakes so if you brake wile turning, you spin. I've also had some karts with really bad brakes that didn't respond well at all unless the kart was almost stopped.
I race every single week it’s a sport that I have started to pick up on! I know that I am a girl and people stereotype girls and how they can’t race! Time for advice- 1- If you do this a lot you should probably know that you have the right to take the inside of the Apex- the guy was on the outside forcing you to CRASH. 2- K1 speed the racing place that you’re at is so bad! The best place to race go carts it’s called VICTORY LANES!
@@wolpaca273 that’s not what happened. Indoor Karts lose grip yes, but they don’t stop unless you touch the brakes, which if you look at the back of his kart, he did.
@@JairCee He should have done something that’s (according to Wikipedia) called opposite lock. That means that if he was steering to the left and started loosing grip he should have steered to the right (in the opposite direction) to get that grip back. I am not that much experienced at go karting but I would say that’s one of the most basic stuff you have to learn. You really have to learn this thing because you’ll end up in countless situations where you’re going to loose the grip and end up in the wall if you don’t learn it, don’t apply correct amount of steering or you’ll not be able to react in time. BTW: The opposite lock can’t be combined with brakes or else you can make it even worse.

If you’ve ever been to one of these tracks in person, they always play a video that expressly states not to brake like this on the track due to the fact that it could cause an accident like this. Never ever stop on a track unless you are out of the racing line, and off to the right. He failed to follow that rule, and suffered as a result. Opposite lock would have done nothing in these karts as they don’t have a full 360°/980° of rotation, and seeing how inexperienced he is, it would’ve just resulted in him spinning in a head on collision which would have been worse.

That tap is truly nothing. I used to work as a track attendant at Andrettis and have seen some BAD crashes. We had a kid track for people this age and rarely would they get off from a crash like this.
That wasn’t even that hard. I race actually race cars and have been hit a lot harder than that. No lie, about 2 years ago when I would race flat karts all the time at this big track then someone front nose of their car hit my rear tyre and their car ended up on my head as I was still driving. That broke my seat the seat was wide open so that is how it happend.

In karts like these you can just about stop at "Never use the brake." Lifting is likely the most you need to do to slow down.
