  • This was my first time flying an Airbus A320NEO, and I have to say, even when sitting right next to the engine, it was a very quiet airplane. At the crack of dawn we pushed back from gate D16, right on time, then the aircraft started the two enormous engines. Then, we taxied to runway 3L and departed towards the south, breaking through the overcast skies. Enjoy the video!

Normally it makes a loud howling sound which is uncomfortable for me to listen to. But this one’s howl is almost silent and it lacks that whirring whoosh unlike other engine howls. Though the best part is that the audio has a deep thunderous roar instead of buzzsaw heard from older turbofan engines! Among the best A320NEO sound I’ve heard.

It's certainly quieter then a 737-MAX that's for sure. But if you haven't flown on an Airbus A220 they are probably THE QUIETEST jet i've ever flown on. They are certainly making HUGE WAVES as the next "go to" regional jet. And the A220-300 variant is the same size as a older generation 737-700.

It's quieter than a standard a320, but it's still fairly loud. I flew with this airline not too long ago on an a320 Neo. Great plane, but you can definitely tell when it's taking off, the engines still give off a good roar lol. The camera mic just didn't pick up the engine sound very well.

You know they got Air Marshals in all Commercial flights in the USA pretty sure it’s required they are highly trained agents that are trained to stop hijacks.. besides the extremely well trained crew aboard you’ll be completely safe.. I’ve flown countless times between 2004-2016 and I was completely fine flew United, delta, southwest, American, Hawaiian 🌺, Alaskan airlines (THE WORST), and I flew spirit to San Diego once.. never had a problem.. I usually fly out of DIA too.. you’ll be fine

Sounds like a FLEX takeoff. They probably had a strong headwind along with optimum conditions and a long runway so that maximum thrust wasn’t needed to takeoff. Airlines will use flex takeoffs to save money on fuel. Usually this means bringing the engines only to about 80% power, or whatever is calculated by the computer.
