      Oh wow that’s awesome! So happy you found those videos useful! 😊🙏 the color 92 pics aren’t quite as good as 400D 😂 less exposure latitude

    Nice shots, as always Matt! I think Jason from Grainydays shot it at 350 (I want to say) seemed to turn out good.

      Thanks Christina! yes around the 320 mark would be a good place to start next time I think!

      @@MattLovesCameras welcome. I have 3 rolls sitting in my fridge, trying to decide what to shoot with them. It’s sold out here in the states and in pre order option so kinda wanting to find the perfect scene to shoot. Looking forward to your reviews of it in different scenarios.

    Thanks for the review Matt! Love the film packaging. I'll have to give it a try for myself!

    Very interesting. The half frame format will make the grain more pronounced, and from what I have seen other people do with Lomo 92, it is a grainy film to begin with.
    Blacks and silver look great in your photos here.
    The gold of the package will forever remind me of 1992 as the year the Danish national football team won the European Championship... Just a Danish thing, I guess ;-)
    About the container lid - try gently squeezing the sides of the container to make the lid pop off.

    I'm glad I didn't jump the gun and order this film. I don't really care for how it looks to be honest. I want to support "new" films by smaller companies like CatLabs making a new color film in 120 and soon to be in 35mm. But this Lomo Color 92 is expensive for me and if I don't like the results from photographers on youtube, then I'm not going to purchase it. Great video like always.

      @MattLovesCameras  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks so much! 😊🙏 yes I agree, I don’t think 92 is a film for everyone. I much preferred the colours of Adox Color Mission (which is another film that is somehow related to this group of companies as I understand it.) I didn’t know Catlabs were bringing out a new colour film!

    I've just dipped my toe into film photography for the first time after doing instant-film for over a year. So exciting to see such a massive variety of films avilable to use at different levels of ISOs, and i feel like I'm only still just scratching the surface. I've shot my first two rolls, and now im just looking for somewhere to get them developed and how that all works, but i'm very excited. Any "mandatory" / "must try" rolls of 35mm that spring to mind for a beginner?

    • @MattLovesCameras
      @MattLovesCameras  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Michael! Thanks for watching, exciting that you’re getting into 35mm! (I’m a huge instant fan too if you didn’t know!) availability has been tricky over the last couple of years, but try and get your hands on anything from Kodak (pro image , gold, ultramax, color plus, portra, ektar), or other films like Fujifilm superia 400, fujicolor 100, Cinestill 400D, and Adox color mission.

    Great video Matt! Love the images, excited to see more from you. Orwo was also manufacturing film in a China factory so maybe the film is made there? Or the packaging cuz they also have the Germany facility, but anyone's guess!

    • @MattLovesCameras
      @MattLovesCameras  11 месяцев назад

      Thanks Molly! From my understanding, Orwo were sending film to China to put in canisters - I have an email from them saying this. No idea if there’s somewhere in China making film too though?

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome 11 месяцев назад

      @MattLovesCameras ah interesting, at one point I thought Orwo issued an update saying they were moving the film manufacturing of one film from China to Germany, but also Candido's box says made in China as well, this could be just the packaging though! I'm curious to know 100% for sure lol

    If I took a picture of an Italian espresso machine with large paper cups on it, it would be for completely different reasons. But then, I don’t live down under. 😂

      Espresso and LARGE PAPER cups? Only possible in English speaking countries. Any southern European would immediately recognize the barbarism.

      Interesting! I don’t think I’ve ever shot the OG Agfa vista, only the Fujifilm made in Japan stuff. Hopefully new formulas will get even better!

  • @andrewbarnum5040
    @andrewbarnum5040 11 месяцев назад +1

    Since it's very unlikely they paid to have a new film stock created, I would say they found a few thousand feet of some film from back in the day and repacked it. Only Kodak and Fujifilm are making color film. So what stock it really is is the million dollar question. Someone said AGFA which it could be. Went bankrupt in 2004 and tons of their film could still be around. Their last few batches were a bust which might explain why your images are really hit or miss.

    • @MattLovesCameras
      @MattLovesCameras  11 месяцев назад

      Interesting thoughts, but Orwo / Inoviscoat are still making colour film. That’s how we’ve had purple, metropolis and turquoise, as well as the Orwo NC400 and 500 films 😊 that’s also why it’s hit and miss I suspect, they don’t have the know how of Kodak.

    • @andrewbarnum5040
      @andrewbarnum5040 11 месяцев назад

      @@MattLovesCameras Making color film is infinitely more complex than make Black and White film. Ilford for example has the equipment to make color film yet chooses to only make black and white. Others such Orwo have made attempts and then sold their failures to Lomography. Kodak and Fujifilm have decades of experience and are masters of their craft. Let's hope Kodak can stay afloat or Color film photography is history.

    It's so strange that despite the hype and huge need of films in the world, fuji decided to stop produce films and moreover they also didn't sell their equipment, so someone other can produce it. Truly strange for me.
    And the second one is why no one in China found the fabric/factory/businees what will produce films? China can produce everything from scratch in days, but nobody did it with films

    • @MattLovesCameras
      @MattLovesCameras  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes Fujifilm’s decisions are shrouded in mystery! Film used to be manufactured in China but I’m not sure what’s happened there either.

  • @livonian
    @livonian 11 месяцев назад +1

    Looks like the expected film didn't materialize on time, so they sourced something from China.

    • @MattLovesCameras
      @MattLovesCameras  11 месяцев назад

      Hmm well that’s the thing, I’m not sure there’s any factory in China that can produce and coat colour negative film?
