The 4 kings didn't want that work....champ right after hagler. I'll give hagler a pass but Leonard Duran and hearns all competed after he won middleweight and super middleweight titles. He'd have beat all 3 in late 80s and 90s. Hearns had best shot
@@leadbyexampleboxingandfitn2800 yeah he'd beat all of them but they were way past their primes at that time. Not really fair. Age comes to everyone. Michael Nunn was a beast. I have to rewatch his fights again.
Good morning Mr Nunn. You were one of my favourite boxers. Iam sorry you were imprisoned. However l am glad you have your faculties and an excellent memory. Enjoy the rest of your life bro. Greetings from Guyana South America.
This was a fantastic interview. Strangely enough,I saw him and Iran Barkley at the AC BHOF. Their tables were in the same corner of the room. I love the way he presented himzelf in this interview. He comes across as honest. He takes responsibility for his actions and his boxing performances
Michael Nunn was a great boxer, and I'm so sorry that he fell of the path in life and was sent to prison. He seems like a real likable ex-champion who saw and took the punishment for his mistake. I think he's a real stand up guy and I like him.
This man was one of the very best. Best footwork in the business at the time, at a time when the middleweight world was as rough as it’s ever been. Great interview.
@@27thAndBethany He was a serious problem. When he beat Donald Curry he was on top of the world. Unfortunately, it didn't last long as James Toney beat him in Nunn's next fight. Highly respected boxer.
Great interview! I still have my Michael Nunn boxing trading card. I'm a huge boxing fan. Keep these boxing interviews coming. He's such a positive guy, taking accountability, looking healthy and moving forward in life. Nice to see him getting his Hall of Fame accolades too. Great stuff.
What a story, never knew what had happened to him. Everyman makes mistakes in life. Nothing about admiration for the way you have handled yourself. One of the greatest interviews from a boxer. I followed your era of boxing and you were a class act thoughout. Bless!
He was one of the best at his time I have good respect for him and how his parents raised him he is very respectable man you're good Mike you're one of the best
It's great to see and hear that Michael Nunn sounds pretty much like he did when he was Middleweight Champ, albeit a few pounds over his fighting weight(!).; especially considering that he spent 16 years and 6 months in jail, which would have broken a lesser man. Thanks for uploading this fascinating interview with one of the modern era's best fighters. I liked and subscribe.
Man this HOF list is a good one alot of good fighters are gana be left out this year of the hall of fame. All the best to Mike Nunn and all the fighters on the list 🥊
I never understood why Tyson hated Berbick so much for what he did to Ali. Berbick did hurt Ali he said. Really, in what round? And so Tyson needed to revenge for what Holmes did to Ali. I also never under stood this. Whoever you are if you want to fight at the highest level expect no mercy. Maybe what happend to Ali was revenge for what he once did to 50 years old Archie Moore.
ALRIGHT HERE WE GO, THE WHOLE INTERVIEW IS HERE, WELCOME TO VLADTV!!! This is your first time here, so I wanna start in the very beginning. So you were born in Iowa? What was that like growing up? Then you became the world champion. Then you got arrested. That’s what it is, Michael Nunn, always a pleasure, until next time, PEACE!!!
Michael was a solid dude and still is.. to run a fight back is on some G shit. As a young fighter I got a chance to spar Nunn back in 1987 was the best fighter I ever been in the ring with as an amateur. After working with Nunn I won two Golden Gloves Tournament great guy...
Great fight. I think he won more or less all rounds until the knockout. I still remember Toney struggling but still being in the fight. He was chasing that left hook from around the 8th round and finally got it in in the 11th. Great great fight, you saw the greatness of both fighters in that fight.
You are right. He is inteligent and it showed when he boxed. High boxing IQ. Many of those kind of fighters like sugar ray leonard, you can tell they are smart outside of the ring as well.
Michael was slated to fight Nigel Benn and he’d have won that fight because Nigel wouldn’t have got anywhere near him that’s why the fight between Nigel Benn and Gerald McClellan happened because Don King sent Gerald over to smash Nigel up and we all know what happened next.
Michael Second To Nunn!!! Some of the best footwork of his era!!
Yeah. Forgot about this dude
Exactly! I remember watching him as a kid
I gotta check him out. Dope nickname.

Nothing but respect for how this guy presents himself…
This is a really good interview.
Respect to the champ Michael Nunn.

You always keep things interesting!

I personally feel that the long prison sentence was too much.
Way too long for attempting to purchase a brick. Sentencing back then was no joke for black men associated with cocaine.

They all ducked him huh?

Michael Nunn!!!!! One of the all time great middleweights!!
The man is a good man and proofs that it’s not bad surroundings that make bad people but that good people exists in bad surroundings ❤️

MICHAEL 2ND 2 NUNN AWESOME CHAMPION. I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS GREAT STYLISH CHAMPION
Excellent interview👊🏻
Davenport had good boxers at a time when amatuer boxing was a big deal in 1970's - 1980's
Great interview Vlad
This interview was so interesting.
Gppd Luck Micheal, we supported you in the 80"s and we the community support you now. Welcome Home and do you Podna!
Best defensive fighter I've ever seen.
so technically skilled it was ridiculous
People make mistakes.
God bless Michael Nunn.
Man this HOF list is a good one alot of good fighters are gana be left out this year of the hall of fame. All the best to Mike Nunn and all the fighters on the list 🥊
Getting knocked out by James Toney in front of stunned supporters in Davenport took a lot of the early steam out of Nunn's career.

No I feel Buster Douglas would have won the rematch ... his style of boxing would beat Tyson 2 if not 3 times out of 3
💯 he a real one, it’s rare nowadays
That would have been a really good bout Thomas Hearnz vs Michael Nunn at 160lbs . Hearnz a natural middleweight . 👌🏾💯
Especially during that time . ⏲
I Love Michael Nunn🎉

Michael is a very good story teller, he has arrested my ears, similar to when I was watching him boxing.
A True Great without a doubt 👌
Brilliant man
I'm a massive fan. Fantastic fighter and what a man 💪💪💪
🔥🔥boxing legend
Ray Leonard always talked about coming out of retirement to fight Nunn
There’s no way Ray would fight Nunn not even now
One of the greats
Very cool. I work in Davenport Iowa
There's black people there?
Vlad name one undefeated amateur since u wanna remind nunn he had a few losses along the way 😂😂in the amateurs 🤦♂️
Michael was a solid dude and still is.. to run a fight back is on some G shit. As a young fighter I got a chance to spar Nunn back in 1987 was the best fighter I ever been in the ring with as an amateur. After working with Nunn I won two Golden Gloves Tournament great guy...
Peace from the uk..definetly need a biopic movie.
I like this guy took it on the chin stand up guy....
he fought his ass off in the toney fight.
Great fight. I think he won more or less all rounds until the knockout. I still remember Toney struggling but still being in the fight. He was chasing that left hook from around the 8th round and finally got it in in the 11th. Great great fight, you saw the greatness of both fighters in that fight.
he was a great boxer ,fast and powerful
Sugar Ray Leonard once called Michael Nunn a class act. It's true.
many happy years ahead of you ,stay out of jail
Oh shit; that bout would have been CRAZY 🤪; Michael Nunn vs Bernard Hopkins 1994 at 168 ⁉️🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯💯
Cant wait til he's a on the PS5 Undisputed game's roster. Tall southpaw in that game will be a force!
He one of them cool ass, slick talking older cats. That generation was the shit frfr
Michael nunn was a beast
Here is an example about a good guy who ended up in the wrong path. He was railroad doing 16 years for one kilo.
That’s my step dads cousin l, he did 10 years in the Feds with him
Guys such a good speaker he could have done a lot of other things than box.
You are right. He is inteligent and it showed when he boxed. High boxing IQ. Many of those kind of fighters like sugar ray leonard, you can tell they are smart outside of the ring as well.
Looks a lot younger then 61 years old
Black don't crack

second to Nunn,,!
Michael was slated to fight Nigel Benn and he’d have won that fight because Nigel wouldn’t have got anywhere near him that’s why the fight between Nigel Benn and Gerald McClellan happened because Don King sent Gerald over to smash Nigel up and we all know what happened next.
Don King has a lot to answer for bad things in boxing
I might be on the wrong side of boxing . Fought
Chaves ???
R.I.P Cris Jenkins
that's why you get you a good damn lawyer
Michael, second to Nunn...
Classy southpaw
Tyson made the same mistake,
Why did this guy throw away a superstar status to get some crumbs dealing street drugs?? Make it make sense.
