Had my first iron infusion this week. I feel like a new person! I’m happier, not tired all day and literally just always feel like dancing! No side effects for me at all! I will never let myself get so low again. It didn’t hurt at all. If you need it don’t worry.
Thanks for sharing. I just finished my 5th iron infusion today! Videos like this really help. It's therapeutic to see that we're not alone. Sharing our journeys helps with all the ambiguity and occasional pain. ❤
I'm glad it helped. And my thoughts exactly - it's nice to know there are others going through what we are going through and hopefully be able to help each other out. I hope your infusions do what they need to do for you! 💞🙏
@@ValentinaKajcinovska Sorry, I am just seeing this comment now and I know it is for the other commenter, but my infusions were every other day and I had a total of 5. ☺
Hello and thank you for sharing yourself with us. I'm 57 and I was called to set up my appointment for my first iron infusion. Long story short my mind is blown, information overload. I'm hearing words like cancer, various gut related diseases. Smh.......Life 💯🙏🏼🌅❤️
Thanks for sharing Jenny! Great job with the Iron Infusions. Am going for my first one in Jan 2024. This is helpful👍👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏻🙏🏻Hope you are feeling better.
For me there was only a little bit of pain with the needle going in. Sometimes I didn't even really feel that which was great. I hope your infusions are going well.
Hi Jenny, infusions over ✔️ I am happy to see your being positive about it and sharing it with us. Good luck next week with your procedures and I will be thinking of you as you go through them. Eat lots of goodies this weekend….you deserve them! Stay strong and keep us posted when you are able. Hugs, Dolores. 🌈🍀🥰
Thank you so much! Yeah, I'm having a few treats seeing as I'll be on liquids for a day or two and then a soft diet for a few weeks. Thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts! I really appreciate that! 💜
How did it go? I just had my first this week. I have mast cell issues so I was terrified of reactions.. so far so good. Some headache, but nothing bad.
Did you have any side effects after the infusions. I am going to need them and am getting nervous. Sharing your experience really helped. Thank you for being open and vulnerable with us.
I did not have any side effects. My only suggestion would be to try to drink a big glass of water before going to try to hydrate the veins. Good luck! 💜🙏
Oh my goodness gracious! I would've been a tearful mess! In fact I did cry for the first one because the needle hurt going in. All the other ones were better. Did they try using a warm blanket on your arm/hand to help? My clinic also had a small portable "vein machine" (like an ultrasound machine) to help find the veins. I pray all your next appointments go easily. 💜🙏
@@jenny_rice Thank you so much! For your beautiful video it helped me get through my first. And yes, I was so excited to see the vein finer. I’ll remember to ask them about the warm blanket. You very a beautiful day. 🙏🏽
I have had 3 infusion and about two weeks after I have aches and pains back . Ugh .. fatigue is better dizziness better but now it’s this all over achy all over . Has anyone else have this ?
I did not experience that at all. Maybe someone else will see this and respond. I'm glad it's helped some things but sorry that you are now achy. I hope it passes for you soon. 💜🙏
I did not notice a difference but the doctor was satisfied with where my numbers went to. I also did not feel fatigued before hand. I was surprised my RBC count was low. 💜
You know, I actually have no idea. And I know my numbers went up a tad but still weren't in the normal range so I was happy they still were going to go ahead and start the chemo treatments. I didn't know if I was going to have get iron infusions along with getting chemo but I did not.
I actually have no idea. This was all new to me and I was kind of in shock in having just been diagnosed and so was just going with what I was told I needed.
Interesting question. I never thought of any alternative to what I was told would help. I think giving iron is easier and that was the only part of the blood I needed. And the hope was that it would stay in the system to help my body while my body produced more by itself. 💜
@@jenny_rice I was asking because I got one pint of iron infusion at the ER and then 2 pints of blood transfusions. The blood brings the hemoglobin up right away while the iron infusion is much slower (weeks) before it starts increasing the hemoglobin and oxygenation in the organs and tissues

What were your iron studies numbers before being required to do the iron infusions?

I feel worse after my first iron infusion and I'm scheduled for 4 more.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I didn't feel any difference at all. I hope your other infusions go well. 🙏
However they dont benefit me my levels stay around 4.8
becouse you need much proteins and vit B‘s

I had Vonofer.

Why not a blood transfusion
