You know what? Gaim is near perfect rider series, good writer, great story development, great character development, no character being wasted, great design and great action!
To think of everything that transpired from this episode. Never would I have thought a show about teens dancing and playing with fruit would lead to cosmic horror, Game of Thrones-ian level plot twists and a cynical message about human ambition.

Yea i didn't know anything about the writer but i watched faithfully until something big happens in the story when takatora revealed to kouta the horror of the situation. It got dark pretty fast after that. Takatora is still my favorite rider in gaim i wished he got a slightly better ending after all the sacrifice he endured for humanity i mean he did end up with kouta's hot sister tho. He doesn't deserve his loss against mitsuzane even when the younger brother has the improved belt he beat him pretty good with his old suit. Mitsuzane would've lost if it wasn't for his brother's compassion. Fortunately kouta's sacrifice brought him back to his senses else i would've hate his character forever.
Seems like the later part of Hesei Phase 2 (Gaim through Zi-O) got milked a lot in general. Even stinkers like Ghost got milked a bit. Aside from Chou Kamen Rider Taisen feat Super Sentai and Over Quartzer, Amazons thankfully didn't.
I'll never forget how much I underestimated this show.... First time I heard of Gaim, I was seeing all the promo pics of it being fruit-themed, and I was like "NAHH, this ain't it fam." Then I started hearing all this talk of how surprisingly dark and good the show was! So I was like "OK, fine, lemme check this out." I watched up until, I wanna say, Episode 8 or so, and....I STILL wasn't impressed. "Why the heck is this show based on dance crews & stuff?!" I said. "Kaito is just a stereotypical rival" I said. And I ragequit the show. Come to find out a while later, and I got some slight spoilers of what happened later in the show with the Overlords and Sid's....well, "meeting" of them. And I was like "OK, I'll give this show ONE MORE TRY...." and MY GOSH, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. When I got to THE TONAL SHIFT EPISODE...?! (Around Ep.12 or so) Not only did I discover just how wrong I was on my first impression of the show, but upon rewatching the show 4 TIMES NOW, I see even MORE things I didn't see the last time, and the show just keeps getting better in my eyes!!! Gaim is definitely one of the best Kamen Rider Series to date, no doubt!
I'm still amazed that a show that started off with amateur dance groups fighting each other with fruit-based samurai armor became one of the darkest kamen rider series since maybe Black.

Would you believe me if I said Gaim was the first Kamen Rider series I watched to re-introduce myself to the franchise after being away from it for so long? Well that is exactly what happened. Sadly because of that I tend to now use Gaim as a basis for storytelling and use of forms with series yet to come and some of the previous.
Back then, if people tell me three things as a new Kamen Rider story that are: *Sengoku era based design,* *fruits weapons,* and *dance competition* I would raise one eyebrow and said "what the h". But Gaim clearly execute it amazingly.
New KR fan: "It's only the first monster in the season to die. The first monster dying has no significance to the plot" Older KR fans: "Uhhh....about that"
Just live more to raise up our flags to awesome theme song for our Kamen Rider Gaim or I say Fruit Jesus even this show was written by anime writer that did for Puella Magi Madoka Magica to show how Gaim have some anime vibe and how it got darker later on series.

God, this was the first Kamen Rider series I ever watched and wow. Crazy to see it on here. Definitely, and surprisingly, one of the best series the entire franchise has to offer imo
As with the other subbed Kamen Rider episodes, I'm happy you are releasing them Toei but please put some more effort into the translation. I will admit besides the opening theme song, the translation here has been one of the better ones they have uploaded. I laughed a bit that they translated the classic abime "Eh!!!" (shocked) as "holy macaroni".

If I were to try to get someone hooked on toku in just one episode, it might be this. Heavy tension, great character set ups, creative power set! This obviously isn't the most comic relief of first episode, but if this doesn't grab somebody's attention then I don't know what does!
One of the best Kamen Rider that ever made from story, rider war, design, some huge plot and also love the rival between Gaim and Baron from beginning till the end, each rider has its own reason to fight not just following the main rider
And this would be one of my favorite armor designed riders. Gaim's masamune inspired design always hit in the right spot and then kachidoki elevated that. While kiwami isnt the best design ever, I do have a soft spot for it. Only thing I wish they did better in the series was define Kaito's personality just a little more. He comes off as moving the goal posts, ya know?
Please give us the rest of gaim in full. It's one of my top 5 heisei seasons (aside from kiva, build, ooo, ex-aid) This episode should have been released back when a US release of the CSM sengoku driver was announced. Then it could have brought in more overseas pre-orders

Gaim really similar to Ryuki. All riders fighting for what they desire. Ryuki was a wish, Gaim was a forbidden fruit.
