Excellent guide! BTW, Whitecap is a great lead-in for a combo on Tide Pool, since it knocks down enemies, and then defeating any enemy in the Pool triggers the frenzy effect in Tide Pool, which knocks enemies down over and over!
Yeah I had that happen a couple times. It was disgusting.
I really enjoyed getting to watch your thought process about trying to find synergistic power sets. I feel it’s a great boon to the community to have you showing others how to use outside resources to acquire information on the powers using mids & city of data.
There are some gimmicks to both of these power sets that aren’t immediately apparent. Such as storm cell, tide pool, and shifting tides doesn’t cause agro when they aren’t equipped with procs.
The other thing is that you need to put down storm cell, then category five, THEN use intensify to boost the damage of your next storm blast attacks, which will cause a lot of AoE chaos, even though you’re using single target stuff.
I started my first marine affinity toon thinking it would be a ranged damage character, but the set only really clicked for me once I adopted using whitecap and staying in melee range to become a damage multiplier for my team.
Solo play could certainly open up much more varied tactical styles.

@ yes, I’ll be sure to check out the other videos. I’m interested in seeing more of how all of this comes together for you. Just based on the power selections you made, I can tell you’ll have a lot of solutions for many situations.
