Pyledriver is the horse of dreams - no one wanted him at the sales and he was picked up for only £10k! He’s beaten all the powerful yards and their top horses costing millions. What a wonderful horse.
Well said

Huge win for Pyledriver and PJ. Well deserved. He looked fantastic. Congrats to all the connections! 🏇😀👍
Pj and pyledriver had it won coming off the home bend. Traveled so well all way round. Well done to all involved. 25/1 this morning can't complain about that.
He did Keith he was comfortable thru the whole race and did it easy. P.J rode a great race on him. Love the horse and so pleased for all connections especially PJ and Pyledriver and Martin Dwyer
I took 28/1
Been backing him for ages
A King George to add to PJs CV alongside the Prix de Diane, and the Scottish National. A much respected jockey.
Fantastic race The Pyledriver really drove it home ,
Pyle Driver you beauty .
Absolutely brilliant.
Congratulations for the team and of course for plyedriver
Congratulations 🎉 Pyledriver 😀… really impressive 🙌 loved the Arc winner too, he was flying at the end. He could maybe win a 2nd Arc if it rains in Paris.
Yes,the second wants soft ground, arc yes, coming to the boil by autumn, must have a chance, horses win that and perform good next year's race
Pyledriver, he certainly did! Am thrilled for connections and PJ too😅
Congratulations to owners, trainers, jockey and horse. Great performance, what a stud acquisition horse will be. P. J. Mcdonald you are a star.
Well done pj as a underrated jock you deserve this for all the hard work you have done over the years its finally paid off well done and congrats as a punter know one will begrudge you of this
I am happy for P.J but poor Martin Dwyer.
Outrageous performance!
Pyledriver is a star performer. The best yet.
You could probably make a movie about Pyledriver, you know he can mix it it up and give his all, so when he can win a race like this it’s special, he fears no one.
Good Arc prep for Torquator Tasso who looks set for another big run to defend his title.
With the favs being lit up and falling flat maybe the Baaeed camp really should be thinking of an Arc tilt.
I got 29/1 earlier in the week.. I didn't expect him to win but in group 1 with only 6 runners.... German horse ran a cracker... The rest were shit today... Tony cuenca
You got a gd price actually
Ditto I backed the winner and Broome at 28s and 33s some time ago hoping one or more of the fancied ones came out.. Fab !
Yes the rest were shit.. one of those difficult daus
Did better than me, got 22/1.
Well done to all concerned, no excuses beat them all fair and square, was on the second myself ah well,
Seen some people saying this shows the three year olds are terrible. I think it’s hard to take much from this race other than avoiding any short prices on Westover or Upjohn in the future.
So happy for horse jokey and owners congratulations 🎊🎉🐴👍
I was watching the Hong Kong Vase last year at the stand and I have not expected I witnessed a future KGVI winner running in second!

Well done Pyledriver! Fantastic win! 😁 Torquator Tasso also ran an absolute blinder on ground that he didn't favour.
Absolute fantastic win. He was always travelling well in the run. Pyledriver name says it all, that's exactly what he done to the opposition. Good on you trainer and jockey
Love this horse to bits... and thank you bookies for the ridiculously large price it was.
The 3 year old middle distance form was just flushed down the toilet.
Well that's what you normally do with sh*t Count. Well done to the connections of the winner. He was travelling so easily coming into the home straight, Torquator Tasso ran a hell of a race on ground not ideal for him. The rest?.... nothing else to say.
The Epsom Oaks form is now laid bare. It was a poor Oaks. Tuesday was thrashed in the Irish Derby, and now the well overated Emily Upjohn has been stuffed out of sight. As far as the Epsom Derby, that form is looking dodgy.
Awesome Pyledriver.
Although I backed the second it's good to see one of the littler trainers winning a major group one races, well done Pyldriver and connections, great race by the Jockey.
Not many jockey have won an Scottish grand national. And a king George on the flat
The 2nd very much the 1 to take out of the race
Well done to all involved ,jockey rode a master class race .
He tried to do a Sea Bird at 2:16
So happy for PJ - great ride, top man
Pyledriver is a incredible horse, he put on another spectacular performance. Would anyone like to see a movie about him after he retires? I know I would

A real rags to riches story.
@@nightowl7459 The owners must've had confidence in their horse, or they would've gelded it to try to get more speed out of it. Great win, even when the horse started to run around in front to score with a fast time.
@@anotherblonde They certainly must have, but he's obviously quite well behaved and consistent which helps, Broome and Westover taking each other on certain made it a decent time even if they didn't do each other any favours.
Have been around for a while, a very good horse, congratulations to the owners
Won me a nice few quid today. Thanks Pyledriver.
Fast time! No fluke! Well done Pyledriver!
What a racing day poyldriver sir busker I fresh I give up men it's imposible
Racing Post speed rating of 120, better than Adayar last year and all three of Enable's triumphs. This was no fluke or flash in the pan, but a proven Group 1 performer doing what he does best, quickening off a strong pace and staying on strongly. He'll still be underestimated, the pundits will say the 3yo's had excuses, the fact that he is not trained by a Gosden, O'Brien or Appleby will mean his price will always be longer, but come the Arc, come the day, that's when 16/1 will seem like a gift. This horse is a champion and one day will be recognised as such.
@Andrew Chisham
I do agree that Pyledriver is good honest horse who is better when he gets the race conditions to suit him, but I find the ratings a little wrong based on the fact that many didn't really run anywhere near their true abilities, but you certainly can't dismiss him for the Arc after this and 16/1 is a pretty fair price.
Night Owl, the speed ratings don't lie. The only race on the card, which included some class events, to break standard time. Three year olds with lofty reputations and a healthy weight allowance left behind. Dettori quoting basically that Emily Upjohn, the moral Oaks winner, just couldn't keep up at that pace. Westover probably overrated, tailed off when the going got tough. I'd be amazed, if given anything less than heavy conditions, that Pyledriver isn't very competitive in the Arc. Many question marks about the opposition, but not about Pyledriver or Torqoator Tasso who are definitely Paris bound and both are ew prices. I'm filling my boots!
Coukdnt believe the in running price on Pyledriver with al the fancied runners racing with the choke out, sweating up or just going to fast. 16/1 was a treat. Only a fiver, but it felt sweet.
Yeaaaah. Never thought this, did it. World cup Champion throughout . "Cheap"horse ever known . Made me jubileeing a great style
4 real i wished a 2nd neither close 3rd, weaving around about to closing stages like he ever does to win. Fantastic
Pyledriver ran the race of his career. He was the winner before they turned into the straight. I think we need to look at these tough older horses for the Arc. Pyledriver, Alpinista, and Torquator Tasso. Their odds range from 12s to 16s.
Would love to see Sir Mark Prescott win the Arc. Love to see Bill Muir win it too
@@janetjohns3957 who's bill muir
@@robertdelacy3434 he trains Pyledriver. He said after the race the he and the owners backed him at 66/1 to small money. They're not gamblers and don't need to be with a horse like that
Well done Pyledriver , he's always hinted at being top level and now he's proven himself at the top level and he won the race fair and square , no fluke about the win. But Ryan Moore and Colin Keane went far too quick ealry on.
The two 3 year olds finished well beaten, Mishriff flattered to deceive again, he clearly doesn't stay a truely run mile and a half. The winner won fairly easily, I was also impressed with the 2nd, running on ground that was plenty fast enough for him. Apart from possibly Desert Crown (if he runs again) it looks like the 3 year olds are a pretty poor lot this season, but that's just my opinion.
Agreed John
@@suemaher5282 Still too early to say. Westover was beaten before the start
@@John-ed2wj Agree with u he was lit up from the beginning.
I'm inclined to agree about mishriff even though he lost 5 length at the start
Yeah I agree. I thought that about Royal Ascot. Winners there weren't like we've seen before. I like all racing of any kind but my feeling is the quality of horse is dropping off a class.
Sir I like yr commentary
I’m not sure what to make of that. Pyledriver won fair and square. 6/16 on the flat doesn’t inspire me to think he is anything great. I was surprised Torquator Tasso even ran on that going. Well done to anyone who had the winner or the 2nd or the forecast (216.35)I had nowt. I’m sure Wayne had 1000/1
@Wayne Harrison Yes! The GOAT speaks-or more accurately the STOAT!
He had his going to get going. A big, rangy animal, they overstretched him at the end of his 2 year old campaign, but connections grew wiser re matching ambition with patience. This could be his year, and with his breeding, He’ll make for an interesting stallion: let’s hope we keep him in England.
He will be confined to a National hunt stallion hopefully the Japanese buy him they breed proper horses and are not concerned with early horses just classy ones
@@Shadai929 interesting reply. Much appreciated.

Excellent win for Pyledriver, just a mention for Dettori who pulled the head of Emily Upjohn, another horrid ride🙃
I'm pleased he didn't ride Pyledriver as he was called up by Gosden for Emily ride. P.j. rode a really smooth comfortable race. Frankie wouldn't have won on him
Right let’s have this right… Pyle driver was just immense.. led the pace, no 1 answered him. I was on the German and at that price I’ll happily take my ew. ❤️
Don't be shy about backing Torquator Tasso to win another Arc.
So much for those 3yos.
Some cold horse that beat hot favs
Didn’t realise 16/1 2nd is a hot fav
The winner is not a fluke, but I think the form will prove unreliable going forward. The early fractions were far too fast and the pace upfront collapsed. The race fell into the laps of the older generation horses who sat off the pace in the early stages of the race. Mishriff ran an honourable third but does not really get the distance in a fast run race. The pace was quite simply too hot for the three year olds
Pyledriver was my BEST BET.....Boom goes the dynamite !!!
Now let's listen to the excuses for all the others and not give Pyledriver / McDonald and most importantly Muir/Grassick the recognition they all deserve because silly people have to write / say something in the MSM. That performance was one of the BEST King George performances I have seen and I have been watching this race for 35 years now. He absolutely destroyed this field and hardly anybody would have thought that. Just WOW and take a bow Muir/Grassick.
He travelled so well throughout the race and it was so emotional for Muir who knew he could do it. Martin Dwyer should have a mention too.Pyledriver made it look easy. Love this fella

Bookies laughing their heads off again.
Pyledriver was unlucky in meydan and should never have been 28/1 for this , he’s been a fantastic horse for the last 3 years 🏇🏇👍👍
I want a horse just like pyledriver .
Good to see Pyledriver back in form. Mishriff got yet another start and not the greatest ride. Westover and Emily Upjohn really disappointed.
The horse is tough & has class. Why wouldn't he be a success at stud? Celtic Swing was "unfashionable" & was no Galileo at stud, but he did sire 2 brilliant racehorses in Australian bred Takeover Target and French-bred Six Perfections. Time will tell
Yep makes no sense but that's how it is. Stradavarius is by a fashionable Sire but is being spoken about as a National Hunt or dual purpose horse. Stamina is out of fashion
@@suemaher5282 Things have moved on from the days when significant races were run over 2 to 4 miles and such as the stellar thoroughbred Eclipse (who first raced at the age of 5) typically won races comprising 3 x 4-mile heats.

Awful ride by Keane. After The Curragh the connections obviously thought they had a horse who could grind everyone else into the ground. Pacing-wise this was as bad as you will ever see. Great run from the 2nd and you'd want to be on him at fancy prices for the Arc. Btw if you backed Emily Upjohn today then I'd suggest that backing horses is not for you.
What did Keane do wrong the horse wouldn't settle so he had to let him go on
It's as well that Rob Hornby didn't ride Westover otherwise he would have been crucified for that ride!

Congrats to connections of pyledriver deserved winner 🏆 2nd needed cut but the Arc is his race again. Mishriff doesn't stay 12 furlongs at ascot regardless of his start . The 3 year old were beyond disappointing oaks and derby form let down.
He won me a nice few quid top horse shame Martin was riding him top jockey god bless
To my eye the 3 year olds both ruined their chances by not settling and pulling far too hard to give themselves any chance of getting home. Trainers and owners usually know what they have got as far as the quality of the horses within their stables. However its not always the case that young horses have the constitution to consistently produce top class performances. Pyledriver and Torquator Tasso were more experienced and more importantly seemed a lot more settled within the running of the race and therefore able to show their true ability. I think if the three year olds are given a rest and freshened up for an autumn campaign then they could yet redeem their tarnished reputations.
Torquator Tasso and Pyledriver are both classy individuals and are a credit to their trainers and both should continue to do well against the very best in the world.
I wonder if wayne Harrison lumped on the outsider lol 🤣🤣🤣

Moore kept him up to his work and that fast early pace ruined the race for both of them.
Emily was very disappointing.
Great win for the Driver but a fluke result.

Mishriff looked like he bounced from the Eclipse.
@Kevin Johnson
Very true, they basically unnecessarily cut each other throats, Keane should have just let Broome give him a lead, instead they were going at before they got into the straight, Westover proved at Epsom that he's capable of coming off the pace.
Omg yous are talking pure dirt . Kean couldn't get westover to settle he had no choice but to take it up the running

A lot of o.t.t. comments here already. Quite simply they went too quick up front then died a death. Pyledriver stole it by racing sensibly with fair fractions. Mishriff don't last the distance unless it's run slowly....that's clear. Best horse in the race seems to be TorqadoTosser who seems to have had a great race there on the wrong ground when months away from being fully wound up and stripped fit for an arc. 3yr olds are average looking but not as bad they looked today....they were just badly ridden. pyledriver has always been inconsistent, but on days he is ready; on those days for the last several years he can beat any one and half turf horse in the world. Including dubai world cup horses. Never discount this fella.
Inconsistent??? How clueless are you??
He's not been all that inconsistent with 7 wins and 12 ITM finishes from 18 starts. He has beaten some good or highly regarded horses in the past, eg, Mogul in the Voltigeur and Al Aasy in the Coronation Cup. He's had only a couple of bad outings since the age of two, ie, one in the Epsom Derby and one in Riyadh early this year. He's often found one better, but among them are some good ones such as Glory Vase, Shahryar and Hukum. This -- ie, a horse like Pyledriver winning at huge odds -- is what happens when the oddmakers and punters overestimate the ability of the favorites. It wasn't exactly predictable, but it wasn't a shock to see the 3yos flop against older horses.
