Just made a similar one by using bike's dynamo but geared to the higher speed so it charges ultra fast.. the dynamo itself is 12V so i had to step-it-down using similar converter, a buck one and believe or not, going as fast as 20km/h charges it in cca 1.5h to full
what if u do this with higer voltage and use it to charge Aluminum supercapacitor battery which takes less time to charge, then now use the supercapacitor to power your gadget?
Wow thank you so much for making this video. I live outside with no electricity and was given by a friend the other day a flashlight that you can hand crank. And I had thought what if I took the wires off the LEDs and put them onto a power bank and could charge up my phone off that. But then i found this video just now and this is brilliant but i don't have any money and so i don't know how I am going to get the parts but I think you are a genius and wanted to thank you for making this video. God bless you.

Hey man I wanted to thank you for uploading this video your device has allowed me to create a potato cannon that I do not need a battery for a grill Ignitor for the only thing I had to get was a capacitor some extra wiring and a battery thanks for your brilliant device and help
Nice build. I have a tip for you, idk if you will read this. When you are using the glue gun, glue another glue stick to the end of the one in the gun when it gets too short. Glue it on while the previous one is still sticking out a bit and you won't have to fiddle with it not feeding properly. I glue two on at once for big projects, doesnt really get in the way
Pretty sure you need a bridge rectifier (or at least some diodes) to make the AC into DC. I haven't played with that particular circuit before but I didn't see anything on it to convert the current.
I haven't tried this myself but apparently if you use parts from a USB in-car charger all the diodes, resistors etc. would be part of the circuitry. That USB bit he's using looks like it's the insides of one of those chargers. This guy explains that: ruclips.net/video/0FNEjC2OWUA/видео.html
A permanent magnet DC brush motor (which is what the what the unit he used appears to be) doesn't put out AC when you spin it - Polarity of the output is determined by which direction the motor shaft spins, and so long as the spin direction is the same, the output will be the same. The only reason to use a bridge rectifier (in this usage, it'd be more properly termed a set of "steering diodes", since it's not acting as a rectifier at all) with this setup is to make it so that it just plain doesn't care which way the motor is being turned - the polarity of the output will be the same.
This one is actually praticl(sorry I’m not good with spelling) because even if the motor creates a higher voltage than the phone can handle the board regulates the voltage to 5v!
For a few dollars more it would be better to replace the crank with an antique wind-up type mechanism that lasts at least an hour. Anyway congratulations!
This is so amazing , I would have done thousand of these and donated them to African countries. Maybe one day I'll make a project of free energy there who knows I love electrical engineering and I am planning to study 4 years !
I think a more practical use for it is for it to be used as an emergency measure when power goes out for long periods of time. These power outages happen to people all over the world due to natural disasters or just problems with the local electric grid.
This has one major flaw. In case of emergency you are not able to order the Boot Step-up power supply module. So, thats a big problem. The other items can be found while digging in old gear in your garage, cellar, etc.
You just need some multi-solder with the paste included. Ideally with a soldering gun as well although there might be other ways. I've got a portable propane solder gun with thin solder wrapped around it, very handy.
Can anyone help me to list all the supplies specifically on this generator.I got 3 days to do this since I need to present it in class for my big exam marks.
I will help you out. If you scroll back up to the top of this page and then look where it says description then click where it says 'see more' and then you will see the links for the parts except for the glue sticks and wooden pieces which you can get if you buy yourself an icecream. Hope that helps and I feel you and i like it when people help me out if i am struggling to find stuff and can't. God bless
This works but for those needing a quick charge this is not it. It is the idea how a emergency mechanical charger works, so it is useful but really slow

Nope. That looks to be an *OLD*-school (the underlying technology - the motor itself could have been made this morning) brush-style DC permanent magnet motor. Spin the shaft and it makes DC. Polarity depends entirely on which direction the shaft turns. Run the output wires to the inputs of either a monolithic "full-wave-bridge rectifier" chip, or four diodes wired the right way, and the polarity on the outputs will be the same regardless of which way the shaft spins.
