And I had thought what if I took the wires off the LEDs and put them onto a power bank and could charge up my phone off that. But then i found this video just now and this is brilliant but i don't have any money and so i don't know how I am going to get the parts but I think you are a genius and wanted to thank you for making this video. *It's called dynamo, bicycles have had that attachment since 60's, very popular design in russia was one that you could screw in and russian bicycles even came with special attachment on their frame that could allow dynamo connected and you had lights at night, what sucked ass was the incandescent bumbs, but now with LED's being so efficient one battery literally will last a week, then can be recharged in under an hour, so the drag of the dynamo isnt necessary.*

    I have a tip for you, idk if you will read this.
    When you are using the glue gun, glue another glue stick to the end of the one in the gun when it gets too short.
    Glue it on while the previous one is still sticking out a bit and you won't have to fiddle with it not feeding properly.
    I glue two on at once for big projects, doesnt really get in the way

    Pretty sure you need a bridge rectifier (or at least some diodes) to make the AC into DC. I haven't played with that particular circuit before but I didn't see anything on it to convert the current.

    • @DollopussD
      @DollopussD 3 года назад

      I haven't tried this myself but apparently if you use parts from a USB in-car charger all the diodes, resistors etc. would be part of the circuitry. That USB bit he's using looks like it's the insides of one of those chargers. This guy explains that: ruclips.net/video/0FNEjC2OWUA/видео.html

    • @Ferd414
      @Ferd414 7 месяцев назад

      A permanent magnet DC brush motor (which is what the what the unit he used appears to be) doesn't put out AC when you spin it - Polarity of the output is determined by which direction the motor shaft spins, and so long as the spin direction is the same, the output will be the same. The only reason to use a bridge rectifier (in this usage, it'd be more properly termed a set of "steering diodes", since it's not acting as a rectifier at all) with this setup is to make it so that it just plain doesn't care which way the motor is being turned - the polarity of the output will be the same.

    An electric motor delivers an AC voltage. The boost converter is a DC to DC device. So, how is it possible that it works??

    • @Ferd414
      @Ferd414 7 месяцев назад

      Nope. That looks to be an *OLD*-school (the underlying technology - the motor itself could have been made this morning) brush-style DC permanent magnet motor. Spin the shaft and it makes DC. Polarity depends entirely on which direction the shaft turns. Run the output wires to the inputs of either a monolithic "full-wave-bridge rectifier" chip, or four diodes wired the right way, and the polarity on the outputs will be the same regardless of which way the shaft spins.

      The purpose behind it is to generate the energy yourself.

    Better not turn that handle the other direction! it was not noted that the motor is DC or if the output is AC...kinda important. the principle is here but a lot of details missing that make it work properly.

    • @Joshbuilds101
      @Joshbuilds101  7 лет назад +1

      the chip i used is a DC USB 0.9V-5V to 5V dc Boost Step-up Power Supply Module. It cost about a dollar. Basically it keeps the power to the phone regulated at 5 volts regardless of the source's power. Ill leave a link in the description to where it can be obtained

      JoshBuilds but Does it Give 1A -2A current output...Cause. Even if V is Regulated...The Rate of Charging will depend on Its current

    Online the booster says it needs a 2v supply

    How long does it take to charge a dead phone? Please reply soon

    • @kevinaliespinoza5546
      @kevinaliespinoza5546 7 лет назад

      To begin with, the concept of charging your phone with this is retarded. He may be producing enough voltage but not enough amperage. For example, it could take him hours to charge up to 10 percent. And unless you want to kill your hand then you can do this all day to charge your phone.

    Hmm so why can't you increase the ratio to reduce the crank speed to more reasonable rate? There's more hand strength available than the gear ratio here

    Can I use a chip that was from a charger?

    • @charlesmarseille123
      @charlesmarseille123 5 лет назад

      You can use part of it. The phone charger is a transformer (110/220v ac to 5v dc) and a rectifier. Break the transformer circuit with an xacto knife. Solder both power wires to 5v circuit.
