Mr Benn - Theme Tune & Opening Titles - BBC1 1971 (Higher Definition Version)

Here are the famous theme tune and opening titles of the Mr Benn cartoons.
Mr Benn - the creation of author David McKee - first appeared in the book 'Mr Benn Red Knight' in 1967. Zephyr Films then produced 13 animated episodes which were themselves written by David McKee (McKee teamed up with Ian Lawless to provide the illustrations).
The films were first broadcast on BBC1 in February 1971. A 14th episode was produced in 2005.
The premise of each episode is the same. Mister Benn, your average middle-aged chap in a suit and bowler hat, lives at number 52 Festive Gardens somewhere in London. He regularly visits a fancy dress costume shop (as you do) where the shopkeeper suggests a different costume to try on. Exiting the shop by a door in the changing room Mr Benn enters another world where his costume 'disguise' seems to fit in perfectly. Fortunately he is not stranded in his parallel universe forever.
Mr Benn's appearance is not unlike 'Fred' the animated John le Mesurier character in the 'Graded Grains Make Finer Flour' Homepride adverts.
The theme tune was written by the Scottish jazz player, Duncan Lamont, under the pseudonym Don Warren.

I'm 61 and I loved this as kid, then watched it with my own children, now I've found it on Prime and watch it with my grandson. Timeless. Thank you David McKee, RIP. You brought joy to generations.
