These type of videos of your personal collections, home, etc are my favorite. The book from Boston is priceless! Thank you thank you!! 🥰💕. Also the book of birds with bird sounds is so cool.
I'd love the bird book, I love watching them in my yard. Some lovely sentimental books in your collection, must bring back good memories. See you Wed....enjoy !
My favorite is the last one. Gorgeous. And comforting to see how similarly children are taught all over the world. I could watch an entire episode on that beautiful book.
I love seeing your old school books! We had Dick & Jane books, and 30 years ago, a very good friend got me a set for my birthday. I love them and love sharing them with my grandchildren!
Wow what a beautiful old book 📕 I love your design you both did . Ps love your beautiful statue of moose moose in the background. Yes my family and I love Abba.
Georgie’s book was wonderful, as was your childrens book from school. I don’t think we were allowed to keep our schoolbooks, but I have lovely memories of some that were illustrated by Charley Harper. I love his artwork even more as an adult. Thank you for sharing.
Arne, I can’t believe you kept your old reading books! How wonderful! I wish I had mine. We read about Dick, Jane and Sally with Spot, the dog, and Puff the cat. I can’t believe I remember! Loved all the books you showed today. Thank you so much! See you Wednesday for Sit and Knit for a Bit! 🥰
Despite all the fine travel and coffee table books 📕 my favorite was actually Arne’s school book! I used to teach first grade (6 year olds) and it was fascinating to see what your little school used. Thanks for sharing!
Your book collection is very inspiring indeed, such beloved books, I can tell by how you both handle them. I especially like the ABC book at the end, the colours and illustrations are so beautiful 💜 I remember my 1st abc book, it was very plain compared to yours Arne! Be well, Sally 🌹
I adore the ephemera scrapbook by Georgie. what a find. really fabulous. lots of stores sold/free little paper ephemera pieces in Victorian times. kids traded them as well. its hard to find good ones since many times they used homemade paste from flour and water-- which of course is yummy to mice and bugs. these are really wonderful.... i love your book sharing videos. Your A-Boka book would be great inspiration for intarsia or for jacquard patterns. lovely artwork style in those. also the colors- loved the red-orange fox with the grey--- your next knitting project!
As an educator you touched my heart having kept your childhood reading books Arne. Wonderful. A bookshelf reveals much about the owners. An intimate overview of choices, interests, creativity and passions. Books are truly windows into the heart of readers. Thanks guys. 📚📖📒📕🔖📖👓
There's a famous spooky folktale that ends with nasty people turned into owls who call, "Who who who cooks for you-youuuu!" as they fly out a window. I've kept many books from my childhood and love opening them and seeing my parents' inscriptions to me from all those years ago. And then of course there are my Nancy Drews :)
I love it when you guys show off your book collections. I want to see every page. As lots of other comments said, Arne’s primer was so fun. I wonder who the artist/illustrator was. I loved the Ru Paul paper dolls. I’m not one to believe that there is a preordained grand plan to life. But, the fact that you two found each other makes me question my conclusions. It can’t just be coincidental🧐.
So enjoyed this episode, thanks! I didn't see the Ru Paul cutouts coming :) Arohanui from NZ ❤ "Fill your house with stacks of books, in all the crannies and all the nooks. Dr. Seuss
Ooo, tour of the bookshelf. Cool! Old books are so interesting. The Norwegian folk costume book is a wonderful resource. The roots of my family tree are in various countries: Wolverhampton, England(1690’s)…Utrecht province, Nederland(1670’s)..Karlsruhe and Edelsheim Germany(1848)…Ireland(1830’s)…..I have been able to find pictures of folk costumes via Pinterest. The woman’s folk costume for Utrecht is really unique. My favorite part of it is the ongurmus(hair covering). The wearer’s hair is put in a bun and a hand-crocheted cover is fastened over it. It is made from a pattern that was learned from the wearer’s grandmother (Oma). I have the fabrics needed to make my own costume, and will use the “Mountain Laurel” bedspread/tablecloth crochet motif as the basis to fashion an ongurmus
hi guys great podcast today i love books to i really liked the bird book with the sounds i have one of my reading books from when i first started school to i remember when i was eleven i was reading heidi and i just loved it i loved that she lived in the mountains lol well i better go and start supper i will see you on sit and knit for a bit take care
I loved both episodes of you both sharing books! I am a bookaholic, too, especially in art and photography. I like to buy books when I travel, too. Thank you for sharing!
While you were showing your Hurtigruten tours book I caught a glimpse of one of your charted patterns that I used for a coaster I knitted a couple of years ago, the Eight Petal Rose design.
Absolutely gorgeous beautiful books! Arne are you wearing Carlos sweater ! Ha! Ha! I watched interesting program last night BBC 4 The Art of Scandinavia it was most interesting and beautiful the history of Norway! Lovely to see you both as always thank you! Xx 😘💜😘
I love old school books. I have my workbook from grade school and all my answers written in pencil. It is fun to read the simple sentence construction from that age. So fun that Arne has his books. Do you have any Carlos? Have a wonderful Sunday!
I am buying hard back editions of a Scandinavian childrens' series Arne might know, Tove Jansson's Moomin books. I'm buying these for my grandson but I'm reading & loving them too!
I love seeing your books , I have a good sized bookshelf too. Owl in Welsh is tylluan, we have them living by us. Thanks again for an interesting show 💕
I love seeing your books! I really liked Arne's old school book...I was a teacher for over 20 years. I do wish I'd kept some of my books. My son actually learned to read from the same book I'd used decades before! Thanks for a lovely trip down Memory Lane!
LOVE the audio bird book, who is the author as would love to try and purchase a copy. The first bird you showed. Is the Pied Oyster catcher with the orange beak, black/white plumage. Found in every continent in the world. We have here in South Australia coast. The school books are a treasure. Kept my 60 year old Grade 1 John and Betty reading books. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! that went quick lol...I could look through the great treasures on the bookshelf with you for hours! I must get to the Hurtigruten cruise someday...sad how we now think about time as before and semi-post Covid :(
Love your book collection, all of it. It brings back memories. Over the years I've donated books as I haven't always had space. Now I have the space I'm selective, only keeping those I know I'll go back to, e.g. my Taschen art books and knitting books with the focus on history. I wish I had been able to keep everything. Now, I have to search for a similar bird book online.
Great books. I think I'll order to RuPaul's Drag Race paper dolls. I also follow professional cycling, so when I saw the birdsong book, I immediately though of the Danish cyclist Jakob Fuglsang, and now, I know that his last name means birdsong (spelled a little differently), so that's cool that I actually learned something today. Arne's school book is adorable.
The first book Arne showed we in the US would call a scrap book. However that one was way over the top and so well organized. What an amazing find! All your books are so interesting and fun to see. I love the little school book at the end. Such a sweet way to teach. And the ABBA CD's and book are a real treasure, well everything you showed us was something to treasure. Thanks for the second book tour.
Loved this as we love books in our family. I also thought why is a strawberry on the “R” page ( of Arne’s little book) and it dawned on me it’s a raspberry. So funny. Going to look for the bird book as that would be super. We have so many different birds in our garden and go out of our way looking after and feeding them. See you soon guys and thank you. 🌻
Arnie I think the name of the book you were looking for is Scrap Book ...I was seven years old when Elizabeth was crowned as Queen Elizabeth 11 ...every shool age child attacked any publication they came in contact with with scissors glue pot and scrap book
One of my most cherished belongings is a copy of “Heidi”. I bought it at an antique book store in 1979. I keep it in an acid free photo box on a closet shelf. I recently started knitting a Christmas stocking (from the pattern you published last year) for my granddaughter. I am about half way done. Not sure if I will finish in time because I fell and broke my right wrist.
Mine was "Prince Jan, the St Bernard". I hunted for years for a copy of this book. Finally found it and it is very precious to me. Sorry to hear about your wrist.
What a library! BTW seeing the Abba album reminded me: Arne loves Dolly Parton and I think you’d both enjoy a wonderful America’s Got Talent audition from a month ago. It’s related to Dolly’s Jolene. In RUclips, search You can have him jolene AGT. See you in October!
I’m glad that Georgie’s book ended up on your bookshelf where it will be greatly appreciated and loved and enjoyed for many more years ❤️
These type of videos of your personal collections, home, etc are my favorite. The book from Boston is priceless! Thank you thank you!! 🥰💕. Also the book of birds with bird sounds is so cool.

An amazing collection of books, a never ending source of ideas for your imaginations!
Georgie’s book is truly a treasure.
❤️

What a fabulous find the Georgie book. Wow!!!!!
I love seeing your old school books! We had Dick & Jane books, and 30 years ago, a very good friend got me a set for my birthday. I love them and love sharing them with my grandchildren!

Georgie’s book was wonderful, as was your childrens book from school. I don’t think we were allowed to keep our schoolbooks, but I have lovely memories of some that were illustrated by Charley Harper. I love his artwork even more as an adult. Thank you for sharing.

These books vids are inspiring me to fall in love again with art books.
I like the bold graphics in Arne's schoolbook.
Me too. I’m a preschool teacher, and I would love to have a book like that
Despite all the fine travel and coffee table books 📕 my favorite was actually Arne’s school book! I used to teach first grade (6 year olds) and it was fascinating to see what your little school used. Thanks for sharing!

I love this! I just found Where the Sidewalk Ends with treasures from my daughter’s childhood. Thank you for this❤️❤️
My favorite is Arnes school book. Great video, thanks for sharing.
That first book is stunning!

I haven't heard of the folktale you mention. It sounds intriguing.
@@JaneDawsonWiley It's called "The Conjure Wives" and is an old Southern tale that can be really spooky when told out loud. :)
Thank you!
Richard Wilbur’s poem “A Barred Owl” references this folktale.
@@annephillips3655 Yes I found that poem. I liked it very much. It's good to find new literature to love.
Oh my goodness Georgie's book is amazing!! It is just beautiful.
The passion books create!
I personally would love to see Arne' A B C books. Thank you both again for sharing and congratulations on your subscriber count!
I love it when you guys show off your book collections. I want to see every page. As lots of other comments said, Arne’s primer was so fun. I wonder who the artist/illustrator was. I loved the Ru Paul paper dolls.

So much fun! I could look at books with you both all day! Maybe a bookstore tour on the “Knitting Under the Northern Lights”cruise!
That would be nice!
I love, love the bird book and the sounds of each. I love Arne's school book. I enjoyed your book shelf.
That’s a cool book with the bird call audio!!! That’s pretty helpful to identify shy birds when you only hear them.
Ooo, tour of the bookshelf. Cool!
Old books are so interesting.

Arne, I have my childhood favorite book, Miss Sniff. (I am 78)The main character is named Polly Pinks, hence Polly is the name of my daughter.
Absolutely gorgeous beautiful books! Arne are you wearing Carlos sweater ! Ha! Ha! I watched interesting program last night BBC 4 The Art of Scandinavia it was most interesting and beautiful the history of Norway! Lovely to see you both as always thank you! Xx 😘💜😘
How beautiful Georgie's album is! It makes me sad, though, that her descendants did not keep and treasure the family heirloom.
I love old school books. I have my workbook from grade school and all my answers written in pencil. It is fun to read the simple sentence construction from that age. So fun that Arne has his books. Do you have any Carlos? Have a wonderful Sunday!
Mor is Mother, in Irish mór means big ☘️ I adore Georgie’s book, made with love I’m sure 💓
That's cool. In Welsh môr means sea
Enjoyed seeing some of your favorite books and spending time with you today. Thank you for sharing! ❤️😘

I love seeing your books , I have a good sized bookshelf too. Owl in Welsh is tylluan, we have them living by us. Thanks again for an interesting show 💕
Loved this tour of your books! I have to say though - I focused often on the moose in the window! That alone made the episode calming!

Thank you. I am an avid reader and love to hear about the books other people love.
I love your school book!!!
Thank you!
Just think how many hours it took to hand stitch the edges of Georgies album!
Would it be possible to find out who "Georgie" was?
This was very fun! Thank you! How long have you had the moose in the other room?
I just seen a moose!
Scrapbook is the word in English.
Love your videos about your interests.
Do you have a pattern for the sweater that Arne is wearing?
No we do not😊
❥ Beautiful and very special books (ツ)
Thank you for sharing •❤︎•
I am fascinated by the Danish costume book that was gifted by Cristal Seyfarth. Would you post the title and ISBN number please?
Sehr schön Buch alt
I have a copy of every book written by Agatha Christie on my bookshelf!
I've just started season 4, lol! Don't spoil drag race for me, lol
😀👍🏻
I have that ABBA cd/book set. Have you noticed the picture in it where they are nude and wrapped in tin foil. Just all kinds of wrong!
And Dolly reviewed the song. The group singing the song is called Chapel Hart.
