Good tutorial. I am a piano player and no one really shared the approach to the organ. I’m glad you did this because we as piano players do approach the organ all wrong as if we were playing the piano. Thanks again and God Bless!!!
Booker T calls his right hand keeping a note depressed while the others fingers press keys as Crawling. Matthew Fisher of Procol Harum was superb at this. Matthew loved to use the slow Leslie speed. Matthew very sparingly used the fast Leslie. I like Matthew’s style.
I'm a fairly decent Hammond organist, mostly gospel with a sprinking of jazz & blues. I really enjoyed your video on the chord progressions and tips on playing. Quite informative and I will incorporate them into my style of playing. I also enjoyed how you came across ... warm and friendly, not arrogant or boastful. Keep up the good work.
This video is excellent. Top quality content - ALL of the necessary info is here for anyone who wants to learn what you're playing, and it's worth learning. Beautiful progression, we can see your hands and feet, how you're playing it, the notes on the keyboard and the written notes, chord symbols, and your own instruction as well. This is a top notch instructional video. Really doesn't get any better than this. Thank you!
Very simple and very deep admonition to the disipline of consistant practice and learning" If you really want to play ,then don't play around". Thank you Brother.
Bless you, thank you! I am a keyboard player and I was so lost as to how to play the organ (I was too rough by playing it like a keyboard as you stated) and now I understand it. Thank you so much Sir.
We live in very small house, so I have a Hammond SK1 73 with a big fat expression pedal..lol..so much mystery to organ playing, but I just learned a lot from this presentation. Thank you brother and many blessings to you.
You are very great to listen to and so slow at showing us the cords I play both organ and piano this helps me to learn how to connect ty hun hod bless you!
When my family only had an acoustic piano, I found a way to manipulate the center pedal while practicing legato. That helped smooth my organ licks. It’s been years and my young mind was hungry and creative. So don’t ask for details! LOL
Thank you for this. I’ve been a guitar player the better part of my life, but the organ was the first instrument that ever spoke to me. I’ve got an xk2 that I really enjoy playing and am glad that I own. As I said, I’m a guitarist, but I am always trying to figure new things out on the organ, and this was a great video!
Please post more videos great sir this was so helpful us younger musicians we need people to teach us foundation chords and different progressions! Thank u
Great stuff man. I’m new to this but luckily mentally used to holding notes as long as possible from voice leading on guitar so the lack of piano technique background a least has some benefit for me. Always love playing with organists but now I have full access to an organ whenever so want to get my fingers moving and pick up some stuff and will definitely be checking your other videos as my fingers gradually catch up. Thanks a lot!
I'm one of those brothers that are not super advanced inThe Hammond B3. But i appreciate this a lot i will practice this. Also, i appreciate that Brooklyn sound. So unique. I will learn to play good GOSPEL music before the end of this year. Lord willing.
Lol I subscribed as soon I saw your stance and heard your voice! 😂 Hadn’t even heard you play yet. I just knew I was gonna be in for a good teaching! 🙌🏽…And I was right! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks bro I’m that piano player that has to play a little organ. Question which board has that realistic organ sound that’s not an organ? Is it nord? Or does the new phantom have good organ sounds? Thanks.
Use 3 colors. One color for the foot, one for the left hand, one for the right hand. I have a keyboard, 88. When using organ sounds, I may have to create a split. Which parts of the organ keyboard relate to C4, et cetera? If my right hand is playing a melody, the left hand is in a register way too low in pitch.
Beautiful sound I've been playing keys for years just now switching to organ so I needed to see how organist get that gel sound thanks....what key are you in here??
Ok can you give any drawbars settings tips to give it that smooth sound cause you can play those chords but if the settings off it wont sound as smooth I'm seeing
Sebastian is genuine. I love the way he say “let’s fool around a lil bit” 😊
This is the knowledge that the other cats don't give .....real fundamentals!!
Good tutorial. I am a piano player and no one really shared the approach to the organ. I’m glad you did this because we as piano players do approach the organ all wrong as if we were playing the piano. Thanks again and God Bless!!!
Yes!! I'm a piano teacher learning organ and I know my organ techniques aren't good cuz my brain tries to apply piano techniques 😅
Booker T calls his right hand keeping a note depressed while the others fingers press keys as Crawling.

Hey my brother. I'm watching you from Cape Town. Your touch of the organ is so sweet, harmonious and gentle. Thank you a mil.
This is golden right here! Excellent approach with beautiful chords!
That transition you threw in there was so simple but yet so impactful to the entire placement and movement of your chord progressions! 🔥🔥🔥
very impactful!

How does percussion ever come into play if your hands never leave the keys?

You give some really good tips on getting that "polished" sound
This is an awesome lesson. And I love how you make it easy to see what notes the feet/hands are playing, great format!
Man, that was some smooth enjoyable melodies; seems to just flow through you to your hands.
Thanks my brother for your humility. We need more musicians like you. If I could post a video I would of how I expounded on these chords you showed.
Beautiful progression. Thanks for sharing. Gives me the feels while playing
Very simple and very deep admonition to the disipline of consistant practice and learning" If you really want to play ,then don't play around". Thank you Brother.
