i got a question for you so do you go through training before you take the test like so many hours? or do you have to take the test in order to get in to be able to do the training? cause mines coming up and i gotta turn like transcript and stuff in and i’m alittle nervous if i have to take a test right then and there
if you have ANY questions (and you will if you havent taken it before) about wether or not a specific part of algebra is covered in the test you should just restudy ALL of algebra. thats what im doing. bought high school algebra 1 and 2 books off ebay and im straight up studying, testing, grading myself and then restudying, retesting, and regrading on all sections I dont ace until I do. trust me i am an extremely intelligent 37 year old grown ass man and i STILL get anywhere between 70% to 100% right answers AFTER i study and take detailed notes on each section. and i get 100% the first time about 5% of the time. i almost always get something wrong because of some inaccurate assumption or minor detail ive forgotten or never learned. and even the smallest mistake early on will WRECK every single future attempt at figuring anything out cause algebra uses everything you'll learn all the time and it only gets more and more complicated. also, you CANNOT afford ANY mistakes on the simple sh!t now when youre safe behind a screen when they'll K!LL you when handling electricity. and you will not be able to depend on your phone figuring sh!t out for you very often, especially out in the field or when your hands are full of god knows what. so forget about wether or not youll pass this test. if you arent perfect with your math youre gonna f@%king die extremely painfully one day down the line or blow up sombody's $500,000 dohickey or thingamabob and you're not gonna be allowed to just not pay that lmfao. their insurance WILL sue you and you WILL lose. and besides, if you dont thoroughly know even the most basic algebra before you start taking those college classes the union is paying you to take (that IS what your apprenticeship is supposed to do after all...), how you think THAT'S gonna go? practice the simple sh!t now until you can score a perfect test so the ACTUAL math later on doesnt stress you out as much. cause it will. so do what im doing and just master ALL of algebra now and make at least some of your college classes REALLY easy so you can focus on studying the even harder sh!t for longer. cause that union is NOT gonna waste more tuition on your @ss if you fail or drop out. and youre not gonna be a well paid electrician without being in the IBEW or getting REALLY lucky with a decent employer but fat chance of that lol. and youre not gonna be able to spend all that sweet union money if you're f@%king dead or owe a fortune in damages.
Im 27 now and graduated HS at 18, I took honors and AP math classes high school finished with calculus and dabbled into some statistics but even then I don’t remember much of this crap…also took calc for a semester in my 1st year of college…hope this helps
I'm 27 too class of '14 but math has always been by far my weakest subject, thankfully I got a C in Algebra back then, but I struggle with just division today
I have 2 questions. In analyzing functions around minute 17:03 we realize answer C is correct and do not go on to see about answer D. I believe both are correct so would it matter which one was chosen? Also, around 18:39 we are solving for 3x > 4 and the result on the screen is x > 3/4. Is that just a typo and meant to be x > 4/3 ? I havent done algebra in over 10 years so if im missing something i wouldnt be surprised
Hi For the first one D cannot be the answer cause lets say if we go with option D which says if D is greater than -3, E is positive - so in that case for the equation I can assume D = -2 (which is greater than -3). so 3D = E -3 ==> -6 = E - 3 ==> -6+3 = E ==> -3 = E which mean E is not positive hence statement D is not true.. ... Yes the other one is typo.. thanks for calling it out...

This is a good suggestion. The first round of shell is a video interview. It would be great if you could give some sample responses to those questions.
It went great. I think I did well. The reading is pretty easy. As for the math portion you just gotta take a lot of practice tests so you can be prepared.

@bahroz should I always use the number just before or just after like you used -2 but I went with a positive 2 and got a positive number still.
I’m currently taking the Tech Math course online. Do they give you another exam when you go in person there?

Do you have to write out the whole Algebraic equation on your notes? Do you turn your notes in?
Nope you don’t need to write (although it’s better to get to write answer) and hence no need to turn in any notes
