- Welcome to the fourth episode of Branwen's Big Year 2024 vlog!
Throughout the year Branwen is on a mission to see as many bird species as possible in the UK, and there'll be a new vlog episode each month to document the adventure.
During this April edition, Branwen visits Cardiff and Newport Wetlands with Mary, then a fruitful day at WWT Llanelli, and a magnificent week in Somerset, Dorset and East Devon with Suzanne and Winston, exploring a list of must-visit locations in the south west. What will be the running total of species after the third month? Watch and find out!

Hi Branwen, Thank you for sharing your latest birding adventures. Lots of lovely sights and sounds. Always great content and I rarely tap my toes when watching wildlife videos, which shows I enjoy your music too. I'm looking forward to your Minsmere trip. I hope to get up there again soon, I've not been since November and a lot of it was flooded.

Congratulations on passing the 100. RSPB Gwenffrwd Dinas has Marsh Tits. Often coming to the bird table. Brilliant at this time of the year as well for Pied Flycatchers, Redstarts, Wood Warblers etc. Can 100% recommend. 👍
Thank you so much! We've just got back from a week in Suffolk so the numbers are greatly rising, though my goal of 200 is looking very frighteningly distant still 😅 Thanks for the Dinas tip too. We had it in our schedule already, for both flycatchers, but that's a good thought about wood warbler (sometimes see those at Ynys Hir or Brechfa Forest though not reliable), not to mention the marsh tit! Will have to loiter near the feeders. Are they in the little field next to the car park still?

Hi Branwen I am enjoying your channel. I used to live in Wiltshire and have visited most of the locations shown here. I am now living by Alicante in Spain. My year list total is currently 189 and it's getting harder now. I have only travelled 100 miles from my base . Great birds here locally Rollers and Bee-eaters nesting.
Hi Geoff! We used to live in Bradford-on-Avon! It's a lovely area, and great for birding. You're doing amazingly on your year list! I'm definitely jealous of the birds around Alicante. We go to Mallorca fairly often, and I absolutely love birding there every time...
