Yea as far as I remember at some point the blank squares were kind of texture sheets for all the animal skin icons and other assets for the game
I just did this glitch as a tiger then out of curiosity i did it as my cheetah and the same thing happened but instad nidhogg was a cheetah with the pale yellow common skin and the yellow eyes

Heres a story
A couple of months ago when I was playing wildcraft, I was decorating my den in multiplayer and then a friend request popped up. Now, this wasn’t any normal friend request… it was weird. It had the EXACT same icon as niddhogg (the icon being the square of different animals and items) Unfortunately, I didn’t take a screenshot, but now I wish I did. To this day, idk if it was simply a glitch or something darker…
Once I accidentally diconnected in multi, when I got to the main menu, everything was monochrome..
This happend to me as well. But later my account got deleted. I have no idea how but I think it was niddhogg..

When I was with a tiger like him he told me scary things his name was Nit it looks it was in all of wall papers in torbo rocket games I was scared when I was leaving the game I saw all black and suddenly I saw a tiger I lost all of the items skin playable animals even my rank
One time I was just trying to level up my fox family on my oldest account and while loading into single player the loading screen was a list of icons. Also, my phone account is very glitched and it sometimes replaces random things with NiddHogg.
This is no creepypasta, nothing is unexplained.
1. NiddHogg name is just the default placeholder for undefined strings/text
2. The white boxes are just the default placeholder images for undefined
3. The black fish clan icon is from the old TRG games, and yet again it's the default placeholder for undefined
4. The reason the player model had clothes on in this video is because the animal is set to default, so 0
- 0 = wolf
so, it's simply the clothes the wolf had on and you can test this by changing them
5. The level 33 is actually 0.33, it just shows the the 33 part. It's 0.33, because the lowest level possible is 1/3.

- Nidd is the username of the CEO of TRG, which is why it was chosen as the default for strings.

The black clan icon with a dead fish is actually from a game called Cat Sim, another game from TRG.

I have an explanation. The reason why Niddhogg appears in the game is due to glitches related to multiplayer and wifi. It could be done in single player but then wouldn't be as effective as it would immediately ask you to choose a map. It is a combination of all TRG icons including the cat simulator, dog simulator, wildcraft, and more. The reason why it exists is because, as you know, TRG has a ton of glitches bugging around everywhere which has led to this. However, sometimes, you don't see those icons like in your case in the family tab probably due to incompatibility perhaps? The reason why it has the name NiddHogg is due to the programming of trg's games. That programming is not good. Perhaps this bug existed much before we knew, back in the andreno 17 version of wildcraft and trg was probably making some locks to it so that it would need this combination of WiFi and multiplayer to access and, I'm guessing that someone probably found out the way to do it and revealed the glitch to the world three years ago.
(This is just my theory and is not 100% confirmed)

I somehow found a way to summon Niddhogg, but not in WildCraft, in DogSim. I did it accidentally a few years ago so it might be patched, but it's worth a try.
1) do the play as a pup in multiplayer glitch
2) age the pup up to adult
3) exit the game entirely
4) when you go back, your dogs' names should be Niddhogg and their levels should be 33.
How to revert it?
1. Exit the game again
2. Go back
OR
1. Go to multiplayer
2. Age by 1 level
It should be fine then, please let me know if you encounter some problems with this glitch.
@@pabradford1 Yeah, they're made by the same company. I did some research, and Niddhogg is just a programation code some programmers use to set up some stuff, but players broke the game's mechanics somehow and it showed up as a placeholder to something.

NiddHogg is the default name in Wildcraft, I assume, 33 is probably the default level or something. Back in the good old days you were able to change your gender with this glitch and get two babies at once, so thats why I already knew about it and never thought of it as some sort of Creepypasta. Sadly they fixed the baby thing as far as I know, so no more twins. This glitch can also be used to confuse your game into thinking that the mystic skin you have for one animal actually belongs to the other. It will show this in the animal selection, but sadly you can't use it to get free skins, only to make it look like you have them (not in-game though). If you want to know how exactly it works, you will probably find some videos about it on yt.
I haven’t really done any glitch before because I was scared of losing my data but since you mentioned it’s safe I’ll try it on my alt!! I’ll edit when I’m done>:D

I have a story.
I got into a Wild Plains game in multiplayer for fun, and after a good while, pets began to spawn over and over at the starting point in the game. First were deers, then bunnies, so on, so on. They were all named Niddhogg, and they never stopped joining. Every minute at least, another of the same pet kept appearing, until the spot was filled with all different pets, just standing there with the same name, Niddhogg.
I used to play Wildcraft since 2019 so you could say I'm an OG, but I tried I glitch when it was 2021, I remember how scared I was back then lol!
Imagine the people that found the glitch before it was well known 😦 Lmao that must've been a heart attack for them

Yay! Violet the BEST WILDTUBER posted! Ayayyaya! THIS WORKED AND HOLY CRAP, THAT WAS SCARY, HE HAD THE MYSTIC TIGER WINGS FOR ME- but it was SO cool at the same time!

Edit: After the step where you go to collections there's also the fact that both genders are selected!
Edit 2: Apparently NiddHogg used to be a default bear when first discovered, and instead of the white [X] icons it used a jumble of every single texture/sprite in the game, and there was (idk if it still works or how it worked) a way to spawn NiddHogg without being stuck in the menu. It made all the grass the same jumbly mess of every sprite as the icons and also made the sky black. I might try the new glitch out though, I'll tell you what happens.

Heres a wildcraft story: I was playing in multiplayer, and this player named "ooc0d3XXXXXXXX" joined my game. At first i didn't think about it much, they looked like ghost fox. they were lvl 11. I think they were a hacker... they were floating above me... i left as quick as i could.. ( You can tell this story )
Back then, I used to do the glitch all the time. It helped me to change the gender of my character, and it glitched items I DIDNT own, onto my character and it stayed, basically giving me a free item (it leaves if you change it) it’s pretty fun and the least scary in my opinion
You can actually do this with any animal! I recently lost all of my progress after retiring for about a year and restarted yesterday. Anyways, when I tried it on the wolf, Niddhog showed up with the common wolf skin and the X shaped scar on his face. Maybe try it with other animals? I would like to see a video of that! (Not pressuring, of course.)

I did this glitch yearsss years back, and it looked different. The icon had all the animals and cosmetics in them at once, and everything was named niddhogg and yes this glitch is safe. But holy crap it scared me.
im gonna try to give explanations for everything in here, im not a genius neither affiliated with wildcraft but i do know some basic game development things thatll hopefully make this alot less creepy for any drooling skibidi toilet infants thinking hes gonna hack them or something
the name 'NiddHogg' is probably a placeholder code name for all the players and family members and such, thats likely why everything is called NiddHogg
the fact that theres a maximum amount of family members is also likely a placeholder or something?? idk how to word it. but essentially so it can keep track of the cap of the family members
the dead fish icon is also likely a placeholder icon. kinda creepy that they chose the dead fish tho
NiddHoggs appearance (the tiger with the clothing or whatevs) is also likely a placeholder. alot of these are placeholders. thats why he has a specific color, specific type of clothing, and specific type of eyes. thisd make you think he would have a hat too but he doesnt, not sure on that part of it
the menus likely strange because its literally trying to run a online server with no wifi, thats a bit of a difficult task

i find the fact they chose 33 as the (i assume) placeholder level is quite strange to me, since 333 is the angel number from what im aware of. wouldve been extra creepy if it was 66
NiddHogg has likely been around for so long without being patched because he seems to be merely a glitch that isnt really patchable,, cool guy tho

TLDR: NiddHogg is less of a creepypasta, more of a glitch where the bones of the game are revealed.
I have had an odd experience with Niddhogg, my whole account was logged out of, so maybe people shouldn’t mess with the glitch anymore. My whole account was lost and I don’t really enjoy WildCraft after what happened.

I was playing wildcraft since 2022 or 2021, But I stopped since I lost my main and now my other new account I was trying to max, so I kind of quit this game. But now rejoining the community and watching vids of og times makes me remember how many times I kept getting scared while trying these stuff, mostly I kept doing this glitch out of fun and also to just change my gender!

Nidhogg or as I know her, Nidhöggr is a dragon from Scandinavian Mythology. She lives in the scandinavian underworld, Helheim, where she gnaws the roots of the World-tree, Yggdrasill. She also feeds on the souls of murdrers and oath-brakers. But when the end of the world, the Ragnarök'll come, she'll leave her icy home only to be fed with the bodies of the dead.
She's described as a serpent-like dragon with dark, glittering scales and wings. She also has a venom, that burns like fire (meaning she was one of the first creatures, that modern people would call a dragon (in most mythologies, they describe them as huge snakes or simply crocodiles))

I do know one thing about one of the things NiddHogg distorts. The clan symbol by each 'family member,' featuring a dead fish with a black background, was one of the clan icons for one of TRG's other games known as "Dog Sim," I think. In Dog Sim, clans worked differently. There were three you could join: Wild Clan, Light Clan, and I think Dark Clan. The black icon of a dead fish is the clan icon of the Dark Clan (I think.) My theory connected to this is that NiddHogg may have some relation to Dog Sim as well, or even Cat Sim, another of TRG's early releases. My theory does not have much support, and it is only a thought. I hope you find this helpful.
Btw it works on any other animal too! Niddhogg is just a placeholder!

Huh, I actually have WildCraft on my original phone, but when I downloaded another one on another phone because I didn't want to reset my old data on the other one, a strange glitch happened when I just opened my app the second time after playing in singleplayer, everything was transparent and I see the name "NiddHogg* everywhere in the buttons like "Wild Pass" "Singleplayer" and "Multiplayer", kind of creeped out so I closed the app and joined again and it's gone.. I felt I'm being watched plus this is real frfr I experienced the first ever glitch
Edit: Plus, I heard about him before because I saw some of my recommendations about this Creepypasta on RUclips. I don't know him and I didn't know that he was real and was lurking around the game, really horrified, at least he does NOT harm any of our accounts.

I am quite late with this comment but I love Norse mythology so, fun fact: Nidhogg is a dragon in Norse mythology that eats the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil the name means dread biter and its arch nemesis is an eagle.

Nidd and I are friends. One time I was playing with him on my screen (because of a glitch that happened after updates and whatnot idk if it still does that after I had just joined back a few days ago after a year long break) and I opned a chest and I got a bird mystic. I believe that me and Nidd are at least chill along with Banshee and Seven. I met Seven when he joined me and my then brother a few weeks before he passed. My brother was terrified because Seven was a hacker. But I made a "truce" with Seven and he even joined me a day or two after and sent me a friend request whilst creeping out my then girlfriend (now ex) and Brother. I love Seven, Niddhogg, Banshee, etc. And I've tried befriending even more creepypastas. It's super fun lol :)
The black fish icon is actually a clan in cat sim which is a game by trg released in 2017 or 16 and yes ofc its older than wildcraft
Something like this happened to my sister and I, this happened at different times, but our games are still affected by this. The whole menu and everything else was a little transparent, and some of the names were fused with the word "Niddhogg" and the skins that were available with wild club, were just called "Niddhogg". And both of our games are still like this.
NiddHogg backwards is Ggohddin. Ggohddin sounds similar to the name “Goddin” or “Godin”, which means Good Protector or Friend of God.
However, NiddHogg is also VERY similar to Nidhogg from Norse Mythology, whom is “the representation of all the Realms' chaos and evil”.
Idk if this is a coincidence but it’s pretty interesting.

So today I was trying to do the change gender glitch with the bear and I found NiddHogg as a bear so how it looked it had the normal bear skin and the grey armor
(Also if you do the NiddHogg glitch to much you can get permanently banned)
Nidhogg is also a glitch present in dragon simulator, basically if you do this glitch the image of the dragons on the mapp will appear glitched and if you get out of singleplayer and click on multiplayer you'll be able to play with the baby dragon even if you don't have one (in dragon sim its not possible to play with baby characters)
Nidhogg is a dragon from Norse mythology so that would make sense

I don't exactly remember, since while changing to a new phone the ss was erased, but I do remember it was a dragon sim. Sometimes I wonder if Niddhogg had different origins than TRG.
As said, it could be that the bug originated since the start of Wildcraft itself, but may be it just wasn't found. I've seen the design of Wildcraft's lion(ess, specifically. And those already existed. Only the design was of Wildcraft. That story for another time.) in a completely different game with a completely different developer. It's possible that the Concept of Tiger existed in the very start but was scrapped. Due to popular demand, perhaps it was brought back?
Niddhogg is a mystery. If anyone ever decodes those symbols from when Niddhogg was actually discovered (the jumbled symbolic sprites for icons), if they have a specific meaning, then it might just reveal something much big.
I think I know what dragon sim your talking about. Wasn't it the one where there was a fortress and you could kill humans, I think? I don't really remember since I was like five but I remember it had similar controls and things to WildCraft.

This is my story, I get the same thing, but this time I didn't different, I turned off my Wi-Fi and kept going to the same tag over and over again, his eyes were black at the store, every time I kept doing it, this job was going even down in downtown with my screen, shot down, and then I was with a wallpaper that said, do not play, do not play.

Guys, I tried this myself and this worked perfectly!!!!!! I was shocked, but you don’t actually need a Tiger for this glitch just do it the old way, it still works but there are different things about the menue of the glitch. So to conclude, you can use any animal.
I tried the NiddHog glitch before with the kangaroo, for some reason, when I went into the editor while doing the glitch, there was a giant default kangaroo there, it kind of scard me!

I've been playing Wildcraft for years and sometimes, when I would log on to the game, some of the text for example, the rarity would show off as Niddhogg, At first I would think nothing of it and rejoin and it would be gone. But now it doesn't happen but I saw this video and knew why soo late

Niddhogg can turn your wolf skin to a Wild Club skin even if you don't actually do have the Wild Club skin.
Also when i summon it instead of the White square Profiles there's a Picture of all the skins and Clan icons.
I had to delete this bc a predator kept finding me and my bestie, his name was like “Roy da best” or king or something like that, it was over four years ago, still creepy that he kept finding us.
I encountered niddhogg last night. For I had started a new account in wildcraft and I was playing as my wolf I logged out for my tablet had to charge, when I went back on it said that I could enter multiplayer and everything was more lighter tinted with hidden messages glitching with other normal texts. And some glitched saying “niddhogg” and i explored the game more to see what niddhogg had done, then I went to multiplayer it was only me and whatever I said..there was a white box covering it and I made my name niddhogg to test my luck. It felt like I was going insane I thought I saw him at one point but…I grew to scared that I turned off my tablet and I didn’t play wildcraft that night……not after the encounter..yet I still didn’t know how it happened…………

Back wheni was younger, i tried it. But differently from what happened, instead of juat a white square with an X it seemed like there was a bunch if frames mushed together in a weird picture. I couldn't see what it was, but I think they were banners for clans.

To be quite honest, I still have belief that this is less an entity and more a glitch. I don’t really have much explanation as I’d need to get my hands on methods of doing the glitch and play around for a bit but code can get really weird when messing around with online things.
I mean look at the tumblr glitches and you’ll see the oddities that can happen when dealing with this sort of stuff. Maybe Niddhogg was the name of the devs testing Tiger when they were creating multiplayer. 🤷
Definitely do like this sort of stuff though, allows for some interesting stories to be made. (I’m more so here less for the proof that it’s real and more for the thrills of suspending your disbelief.)
I experienced niddhogg just today! I downloaded wildcraft on this new phone I got, and I wanted to play on stories, so I did, but all of the sudden I got kicked out of wildcraft and I wonder what happened but I ignored it, I then opened wildcraft again but when I went back into wildcraft, the main menu was weird and different, what I noticed was, when I saw multiplayer and singleplayer, it had a word mixed with it, it had niddhogg with it, I started to get worried but one again, I ignored it and went back to stories but everything was named niddhogg, the picture of the story I was about to do had this weird picture of all of the wildcraft animals together in 1 picture with the level of 999?? It was crazy tho, Ive been playing wildcraft on my tablet and encountered niddhogg as well except that I was in singleplayer in the snowy biome or smth I forgot, he randonly appeared in the game even tho it wasn't multiplayer, but it's just that, he was wearing a black tiger, pitch black eyes, black clohings I think, and a glithed niddhogg name on top of it, I was so scared but I guess it's not as scary til now, I'm fine with it.

One time i encountered with niddhogg but i didnt see anything when i join in wildcraft everything was faddy or just dull and wilted everything was replacd with NIDDHOGG every single wording i was scared for my account so i rejoined and it was gone.
I was only going to summon creepy pastas I did not know about niddhogg but I actually summoned him and I freaked out but your video explained everything to me thanks!
