I'm from the UK, and I'm *not* someone who "thinks the world revolves around this tiny island" as someone said, but it is quite annoying when I see small European islands better detailed and looking and feeling larger (when driving through them) than I do the UK. When I see German cities being upgraded and the UK looking absolutely outdated. I recognise that it isn't a country driven through when en route to elsewhere, but it's still a part of the game and is small and horribly outdated place in the game. Something should be done about it.
I'm not from UK and I think UK needs to be redone. It's a beautiful country and driving on the left for us continentals is something new. I barely visit UK inside the game because how old it looks and just take some small job offers to try and drive on the left.
@@CF21LDB Yeah! Living between Newport and Cardiff myself it’s absolutely amazing to have a good chunk of south wales. Maybe adding Merthyr as well would be good and some more places around Powys. Maybe adding the A470 as well. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if promods have plans already
@@RayOLight yeah as I know Builth Wells is on the cards. Be great to have Brecon Beacons wouldn’t it. I know obviously they are restricted due to size but they have done well so far. Like one of their team I showed one of my videos crossing over the bridge which showed the correct lampposts, within a day they got rid of those SCS ones in the centre reservation along with the speed camera and the 50mph speed limit. SCS was lazy in my opinion with the M4/M5 split at Almondsbury, Promods well what more can you say if they can do that imagine their version of spaghetti junction. All my ets2 videos are in the UK thanks to Promods.
Living in Pembrokeshire, driving through on Promods is fucking weird. Yes, it's missing a lot of detail, but it's detail that you'd only know from a direct comparison or from living here, and being able to drive over a bridge that my school bus used to get caught up in traffic on every day and look out at a very recognisable version of that scenery is so weird given how out of the way and unknown this county is beyond it's use as a retirement/holiday county. The last time I got that sense of "What the fuck, I've been there" was watching Peaky Blinders and seeing Le Mans Crescent in Bolton pretending it's London, because there really is not much in Pembrokeshire beyond the guy who went on Bullseye and turned out to be a serial killer, which got a TV drama made that also gave me that feeling after seeing an old friend's flat on numerous occasions.
I really understand of what Pavel said in the Christmas stream, though many, many players are starting to get very impatient already and they are already making hate comments towards Pavel and SCS. - Honestly for me I can wait as long as of what direction SCS is going to head into. Maybe once they start reworking the UK, they should add more cities and roads to it as many as they can that can fit into the current game world size. 😎👍🚛
I can understand the frustration because i'm one of those frustrated people about how long it's gonna take them to do the UK as I'm from there but on the other hand we do have ProMods so at least someone is making use of a more detailed UK map.
Well that's how most Greek folks that play this game feel like for not having Greece at least on the next dlc after balkans. But instead they will focus on Scandinavia... Which don't get me wrong is so dope but still... Why they left Greece out still is a mystery...
They should probably just do it during making of the Ireland DLC. Have Ireland and Nothern Scotland as DLC with current Scotland redone, then come in during that and even after if more time is needed to finish the UK. That seems the most efficient way to do it imo
It is quite simple. They could rework UK like Germany (roads first in several phases, cities later), but obviously this has so many disadvantages that they don’t want to go this way again. And they clearly can’t rework UK like Austria (raze it all and start from scratch) which is the better way in any reasonable time now…
I agree, the excuse about the UK being too big does not make sense, they reworked Germany in 3 or 4 stages in a couple of updates and that's bigger than UK, it does not look promising that they will ever look at UK now
Honestly i do not mind if they take their time, after seeing how far the game has gotten i really appreciate the hard work. I am the type of a person that gets impatient, but if i know that the outcome of waiting for a certain update or something of those sorts, is going to be good then i can wait years if thats the case. I doo hope that they rework other misc things, such as: rain, dynamic weather (freezing temps, cold starts, smoke because of condensation etc.), seasons (just like forza horizon), (maybe) realistic physics like beamng has. If they would implement and or update those things i would fall in deep love with this game. Since it is a simulation i believe these things might get added in the feature, overall it might take time as always but i wish them the best!
Good idea actually, I think they did ask some ProMods developers to work on the early stages of German rework. I don't know about the later one or the recent Hannover rework though
@@NelleShadowblue Even if ETS3 happens, it would still have the same graphics and UI as ETS2. ETS 3 would likely never happen, I don't see the point of ETS3 when the graphics and UI would be exactly the same as ETS2. Even ATS share the same graphics and UI as ETS2.
There is my predictions of reworks and their reasons: 🇧🇪🇳🇱🇱🇺 BeNeLux: So these countries are in game but small amount of players go there because of the old scenery. There is also DAF manufacture plant. 🇭🇺 Hungary: Hungary is part of DLC but anyways... Hungary boarders with base game and one DLC (when West Balkans drops there will be 2 of them) and is also with old map. 🇸🇰 Slovakia: Slovakia is county with mountains and also previous reworks included countries with mountains (Switzerland and Austria). But I think SCS will focus on city of Bratislava (only slovakian city in base game) because lots of players (that have ONLY base game) starts there to get long distance cargos. 🇨🇿 Czechia: Czechia is country in base game (except Ostrava). Czechia is in middle of Europe and its size is almost the same as Austria. And the studio SCS is from Czechia. 🇵🇱 Poland: Poland connects base game with 2 DLCs (Scandinavia and Beyond the Baltic). Its true that most of Poland is in Going East DLC but at least they will rework base ge part (maybe whole Poland). My opinion is that the next rework will be Hungary or Benelux. EDIT: How I was looking at that massive map of Europe in ETS2, I noticed one country that need to update. 🇩🇰 Denmark: Denmark is part of newer (but still pretty old) DLC. But the number of roads there and lack of detail and cities, it needs rework too. Maybe, they will build LEGO factory or Legoland :). But the probability of rework Denmark is low.
As a Hungarian id like it sooo much like rebuilding Budapest with downtown, lake Balaton and new cities like Keszthely Szombathely Nyíregyháza Kecskemét or Eger with a very epic downtown and castle 😉
@@nadasdy5912 Yes, every single rework must have lots of details so Hungary will be no exception. But I don't think they will add cities. They will just add companies near that cities but it will be under other city. For example, Győr will have som logistics but it will be under Budapest.
I would like to see a big rework of Hungary and be able to truck at the Lake Balaton and drive on the Lánchíd Bridge in Budapest and i would love to see a rework of Hungary as a Hungarian 😄
No one is asking them to rebuild all of England at once. They can redevelop this area in parts. this island can be divided into three parts and reworked in three editions. I think that because Poland is in the middle of Europe and England on the outskirts has a better chance for reconstruction.
Hooray i am famous! 🤣 On a more serious note there was no reason why they could not have added parts of the UK gradually. They have had ten years to do that. 🤷♂️ They could even add Ireland as a DLC. That does not even exist yet.
I guess the main reason is the huge difference the UK is compare to the rest of the game. Firstly is the fact that It is an island which means It does not have land border to any major country in Europe. This probably draw SCS away from making a UK rework too soon. So far the only island related content SCS did is Corsica and Sardinia but both of them are much much smaller island compare to the UK. Secondly is the driving side being different compare to the rest of Europe. So far all the rework SCS make are countries driving on the right and immediately switching to UK soon is well very different. Thirdly is the scale of UK being different. The map of UK is actually slightly bigger in terms of scale compare to rest of the countries in ETS 2. I think If the rework would be made then SCS would very likely adjust the map scale to normal ETS 2 scale which is of course challenging. We must all remember UK is not SCS main focus as they need to rework other countries in Europe as well. My point in the beginning is just to furthur proven the fact. Sorry though If this is too long and starts to feel like an essay.
Aye it would be lovely if Scotland had more than 3 towns and 4 roads (we have at least 6 and only take the roads in when it rains😂) . But hey you did a nice job on two of the forth bridges, should see the new one though it's beautiful. I don't drive the uk map at all these days, the signage and street furniture is good but the road network bears no resemblance to UK roads which becomes quite annoying, spend my ets2 time in Europe or ATS , an update for the uk would be nice but lack of one doesn't stop me from playing at all. dude how reworking a part of the game takes years i cannot understand. Game is developing sooo slow I mean other companies are making brand new games with the same amount of time I just don't understand why even adding a single truck is taking years for scs
Also map development isn't just simply recreating satellite imagery, in fact map scaling has to be considered without ruining the look and feel of places which take a lot of time and research
they should work with the Promods team and work out some deal with them and use their map. Promods do a far better job on the map than SCS do. UK map is 13 years old, it waas made for UKTS and not been touched since and these days it's a horrible map to drive on and i tend to stay away from the UK when doing jobs
@@scyzorpl Not really though. I agree Promods is good but remember not everyone plays promods. Most of the ETS 2 players with a potato PC(Or infact even those who have good PC)still plays without Promods and only people who is really into the ETS 2 community knows about It.

With the UK, I think the best way to do it, is to remake south England first, then London metro area, then east England, then for example Wales, north England, then south Scotland, and so on. Yes, it wouldn't be as cool, as remaking whole country as one, but they still do Germany this way, so everybody would still understand it, and will be thankful at the end of the day. J
Its either UK or Benelux lol. I swear literally comment in ALL of SCS videos or community post are like " UK need urgent rework" "When will we get Benelux" and so on. I know UK is outdated but lets give SCS some time. There are so many ongoing project like the Switzerland rework, the German city rework and the Balkan DLC. Logically UK as an island and also does not borders the current reworked area will mean that SCS won't focus on It for now.
So, in short, we need to wait. Fine, I can wait. I spend most of my time delivering loads abroad, sometimes passing through the UK (Immingham to Plymouth & v.v) despite living in the UK. They gave logical reasons why they haven't started the UK yet...while saying they want to do the UK.
A slight correction in the description of the video: I believe you meant 'Only Britain (the island) is in the game'. The cities in the UK in the game doesn't include cities just in England, but also in Wales and Scotland. Northern Ireland is the only constituent country in the UK to NOT be featured in the game currently.
Am I the only thinking that they are not rewoking it yet, because some of the next DLC will include Ireland and maybe some kind of expansion of Scotland and Wales, and they will combine it with reworking of available UK areas? It can be serious that "UK it's too big to be reworked now", given that they are able to build a whole DLC from the ground every year.
@@Harnaś_z_Puchy what he says is that you don't go through the UK when doing delivery from Spain to Norway for example. You need to go through Austria and Switzerland to go from the west to the east or viceversa, so they should rework those intermediate states before the UK.
Nearly all the roads on both ETS and ATS are too WIDE, the junctions too easy to navigate, and the parking scenarios basic and unchallenging. I've been driving for over 26 years in the UK and I have to squeeze through tight gaps on almost every journey - parked cars, tight junctions, etc. Never see it in these simulators. Such a shame.
I really think they are going to remake the UK. But we have to wait because of the events between Russia and Ukraine. They had to create another map to not leave the game so far behind. But let's wait. Everything in its time. I have no hurry. They are full steam ahead for the new dlc and other features. Let's wait and hope, let's be more patient guys. :)

The UK map is already like playing a 15-year old game, with narrow roads and cheesy graphics driving huge trucks that don't always fit. Either the SCS releases the update or as a DLC - and then I expect it to have Ireland in it as well - or the players just grow old and abandon the game, it's not like this is the end of the world. People don't want to wait for 5 years just to get some map updated in a freaking computer game.
This actually create another question for me Would the Poland have the same "fate" as the UK as well? Because Poland is a pretty big country compared to the rest of the "not yet remade" countries of the game

as much as I would love UK rework, I approve this approach of makin smaller regions first. When it comes to Benelux, they have to add Eindhoven which is one of the biggest tech hubs in Europe and the home of DAF....they even have DAF museum there. Also Antwerp would nice addition because it has one of the biggest ports in Europe
It will not happen until either ETS3 is produced with a scale of 1 to 10 or Promods does a map of Western Europe with a scale of 1 to 10. The population density and urban concentration of the United Kingdom is very high compared to France and Germany. Only the Netherlands and Belgium are far higher. The present map represents a token view of what SCS mappers see as what “England” looks like. There is a limit to what places can be squeezed into the base map.
UK map isnt bad with pro mods, ive started a new UK save and im only driving UK for now. The issue i have with UK is that some of the motorway network is totally wrong and the exit lanes off the morotways are stupid. The reason they arent sorting UK is because they dont like UK. Id love a decent Russia map, would be awesome
Yeah. I whole heartily agree. I mostly play ATS anyway. To me the American version is so much more immersive and just has a better feel to it. If we had all of the U.S. & Canada, I probably wouldn't even touch the other game. But I do have ETS2 and play it once in a while, just for a change. I did one quick job in the U.K. That did it for me. I actually prefer to drive on the right side of the road, thank you very much. Steering wheel isn't even in the right place. lol
Hi AP and Pavel it's mark from England i understand that SCS is doing alot more on ETS2 and ATS which is brilliant by the way, but we definitely need towns and cities for the UK map like more towns and cities in Scotland and England and Wales and Ireland because I've only got few cities in England two in Wales and three or four cities in Scotland. And i can't even get to Ireland or the rest of Wales because the England map is not fully completed. And me and everyone else we are still waiting for H.O.R map and belkan maps all fully completed ready to use and drive your truck. But Pavel and his team are doing a great job and i love you all keep up the great work guys and girls. And i like what SCS have been doing with ETS2 with updates on the game of ETS2 and updates on future developments coming to ETS2 👍👍👍👍. I think u need to update all maps not just uk. All the roads need to be updated to make them like ur actually driving down that road in that city not some stupid road that's the same exit on every single road in every country.

My take is UK is no longer important; we are after all no longer part of Europe. Don't get me wrong there is so much wrong with UK that I'd like to see done, and if I could programme I would love to help them. Especially down in the SE where I do have local knowledge of our roads and highways.

I think they need to get an updated graphics engine tis way over 30yrs old i remember i had some commodore c64 games driven by prism graphics engine I mean, it's 2023, and the game has curves and circles made up of joined lines
Shame....but expectable as it's a huge project considering the current state of the UK map. To me, it simply doesn't exist in ETS, I don't take any contracts to or from there.
I think no one would be mad if they just cancel uk and brint it back with a dlc and full price. I dont like the reworks because there less detailed as those dlc's
The UK is very outdated and looks like an embarrassment for SCS. It looks like it's been abandoned. I don't believe the crap that they will get around to updating it in the future. Lets face it. They don't even want it on their map. The Uk give the world the first railway network and then trucks replaced trains. They deserve more credit than this.
They may as well take the UK off the map if they are not going to rework it anytime soon, the UK map is a hopeless old mess of a map and graphics, I don't even bother driving there anymore. IMO, fix what is already there before you continue on with new areas. Also , Release Heart Of Russia DLC ffs, we have been waiting forever because of politics / which should have nothing to do with gaming. Cheers.

Like by I mean "Wouldn't" what I could've said was "Couldn't they do Wales first then Scotland next, then finally England?" With the cities rework, we could use some new cities that are important as part of industry, like Bristol.
Yeah they could easily split it up into parts for reworking but it seems the devs are not interested in doing that because the UK isn't near the next big DLC release. Seems like the devs as with most Europeans don't like the UK so why would they put any time into making it look as good as the rest of the game.

Promods has made the UK a lot more interesting.
Definitely I do a lot of my driving in the uk thanks to Promods. The latest update in Newport which is 15 miles from me is brilliant.

i think SCS needs to consider to let ProMods builders to help for some rework, as the current process we may not able to see ETS3 in next decade

No one is asking them to rebuild all of England at once. They can redevelop this area in parts. this island can be divided into three parts and reworked in three editions. I think that because Poland is in the middle of Europe and England on the outskirts has a better chance for reconstruction.

Hooray i am famous! 🤣 On a more serious note there was no reason why they could not have added parts of the UK gradually. They have had ten years to do that. 🤷♂️ They could even add Ireland as a DLC. That does not even exist yet.

I guess the main reason is the huge difference the UK is compare to the rest of the game. Firstly is the fact that It is an island which means It does not have land border to any major country in Europe. This probably draw SCS away from making a UK rework too soon. So far the only island related content SCS did is Corsica and Sardinia but both of them are much much smaller island compare to the UK. Secondly is the driving side being different compare to the rest of Europe. So far all the rework SCS make are countries driving on the right and immediately switching to UK soon is well very different. Thirdly is the scale of UK being different. The map of UK is actually slightly bigger in terms of scale compare to rest of the countries in ETS 2. I think If the rework would be made then SCS would very likely adjust the map scale to normal ETS 2 scale which is of course challenging. We must all remember UK is not SCS main focus as they need to rework other countries in Europe as well. My point in the beginning is just to furthur proven the fact. Sorry though If this is too long and starts to feel like an essay.

Aye it would be lovely if Scotland had more than 3 towns and 4 roads (we have at least 6 and only take the roads in when it rains😂) . But hey you did a nice job on two of the forth bridges, should see the new one though it's beautiful. I don't drive the uk map at all these days, the signage and street furniture is good but the road network bears no resemblance to UK roads which becomes quite annoying, spend my ets2 time in Europe or ATS , an update for the uk would be nice but lack of one doesn't stop me from playing at all. Great game
dude how reworking a part of the game takes years i cannot understand. Game is developing sooo slow I mean other companies are making brand new games with the same amount of time I just don't understand why even adding a single truck is taking years for scs
That's because they are a small company with a limited number of employees
Also map development isn't just simply recreating satellite imagery, in fact map scaling has to be considered without ruining the look and feel of places which take a lot of time and research
they should work with the Promods team and work out some deal with them and use their map. Promods do a far better job on the map than SCS do. UK map is 13 years old, it waas made for UKTS and not been touched since and these days it's a horrible map to drive on and i tend to stay away from the UK when doing jobs
I hate how on the map you have sudden speed limit changes on the motorways. 97km/h limit suddenly changes to 80km/h and bam, speed offence penalty.

With the UK, I think the best way to do it, is to remake south England first, then London metro area, then east England, then for example Wales, north England, then south Scotland, and so on. Yes, it wouldn't be as cool, as remaking whole country as one, but they still do Germany this way, so everybody would still understand it, and will be thankful at the end of the day. J
Its either UK or Benelux lol. I swear literally comment in ALL of SCS videos or community post are like " UK need urgent rework" "When will we get Benelux" and so on. I know UK is outdated but lets give SCS some time. There are so many ongoing project like the Switzerland rework, the German city rework and the Balkan DLC. Logically UK as an island and also does not borders the current reworked area will mean that SCS won't focus on It for now.

So, in short, we need to wait. Fine, I can wait. I spend most of my time delivering loads abroad, sometimes passing through the UK (Immingham to Plymouth & v.v) despite living in the UK. They gave logical reasons why they haven't started the UK yet...while saying they want to do the UK.
A slight correction in the description of the video: I believe you meant 'Only Britain (the island) is in the game'. The cities in the UK in the game doesn't include cities just in England, but also in Wales and Scotland. Northern Ireland is the only constituent country in the UK to NOT be featured in the game currently.

Am I the only thinking that they are not rewoking it yet, because some of the next DLC will include Ireland and maybe some kind of expansion of Scotland and Wales, and they will combine it with reworking of available UK areas? It can be serious that "UK it's too big to be reworked now", given that they are able to build a whole DLC from the ground every year.
I think they will rework UK last because going to UK its just optional not like in mainland europe where you need to pass through countries everytime

@@Harnaś_z_Puchy what he says is that you don't go through the UK when doing delivery from Spain to Norway for example. You need to go through Austria and Switzerland to go from the west to the east or viceversa, so they should rework those intermediate states before the UK.
Unless if they have a plan to go for the Ireland DLC (which is not going to be anytime soon)

Nearly all the roads on both ETS and ATS are too WIDE, the junctions too easy to navigate, and the parking scenarios basic and unchallenging. I've been driving for over 26 years in the UK and I have to squeeze through tight gaps on almost every journey - parked cars, tight junctions, etc. Never see it in these simulators. Such a shame.
I really think they are going to remake the UK. But we have to wait because of the events between Russia and Ukraine. They had to create another map to not leave the game so far behind. But let's wait. Everything in its time. I have no hurry. They are full steam ahead for the new dlc and other features. Let's wait and hope, let's be more patient guys. :)

The UK map is already like playing a 15-year old game, with narrow roads and cheesy graphics driving huge trucks that don't always fit. Either the SCS releases the update or as a DLC - and then I expect it to have Ireland in it as well - or the players just grow old and abandon the game, it's not like this is the end of the world. People don't want to wait for 5 years just to get some map updated in a freaking computer game.

as much as I would love UK rework, I approve this approach of makin smaller regions first. When it comes to Benelux, they have to add Eindhoven which is one of the biggest tech hubs in Europe and the home of DAF....they even have DAF museum there. Also Antwerp would nice addition because it has one of the biggest ports in Europe
It will not happen until either ETS3 is produced with a scale of 1 to 10 or Promods does a map of Western Europe with a scale of 1 to 10. The population density and urban concentration of the United Kingdom is very high compared to France and Germany. Only the Netherlands and Belgium are far higher. The present map represents a token view of what SCS mappers see as what “England” looks like. There is a limit to what places can be squeezed into the base map.

UK map isnt bad with pro mods, ive started a new UK save and im only driving UK for now. The issue i have with UK is that some of the motorway network is totally wrong and the exit lanes off the morotways are stupid. The reason they arent sorting UK is because they dont like UK.

Yeah. I whole heartily agree. I mostly play ATS anyway. To me the American version is so much more immersive and just has a better feel to it. If we had all of the U.S. & Canada, I probably wouldn't even touch the other game. But I do have ETS2 and play it once in a while, just for a change. I did one quick job in the U.K. That did it for me. I actually prefer to drive on the right side of the road, thank you very much. Steering wheel isn't even in the right place. lol

Hi AP and Pavel it's mark from England i understand that SCS is doing alot more on ETS2 and ATS which is brilliant by the way, but we definitely need towns and cities for the UK map like more towns and cities in Scotland and England and Wales and Ireland because I've only got few cities in England two in Wales and three or four cities in Scotland. And i can't even get to Ireland or the rest of Wales because the England map is not fully completed. And me and everyone else we are still waiting for H.O.R map and belkan maps all fully completed ready to use and drive your truck. But Pavel and his team are doing a great job and i love you all keep up the great work guys and girls. And i like what SCS have been doing with ETS2 with updates on the game of ETS2 and updates on future developments coming to ETS2 👍👍👍👍. But ETS2 and ATS are brilliant and fantastic and the best truck simulator games for PC and Xbox consoles in the world 👍👍👍👍 but can we please 🙏🙏 have added into ETS2 and ATS a DLC were you can put your own company name on owned trucks and trailers and your garage please 🙏🙏🙏 and more truck and trailer skins design aswell please 🙏🙏👍👍 thanks from mark from England 👍 and i like watching the update videos

They are not reworking the entire Germany. In 1.47, only 4 cities were reworked.

Ich finde es bedauernswert, dass SCS ununterbrochen neue Vorankündigungen von Features postet, ohne dass es zeitnah ein Release dafür gibt. Das was dann wirklich kommt, ist nicht immer spektakulär. Es ist frustrierend für Fans, ständig von SCS in eine Wartezeit auf irgendwas geschickt zu werden. Kein Wunder, dass viele Fans sauer darüber sind. Wie Pavel Sebor in der Angelegenheit um das DLC " Heart of Russia " agiert hat, war auch nicht schön. Auf Kosten der Kundschaft wurde viel Arbeitszeit vernichtet.

My take is UK is no longer important; we are after all no longer part of Europe. Don't get me wrong there is so much wrong with UK that I'd like to see done, and if I could programme I would love to help them. Especially down in the SE where I do have local knowledge of our roads and highways.

- there is a Landmark where needs UK, it is ireland. So I don't understand, why they don't build Ireland, to become money also for rebuild UK?! Without UK are Ireland not very nice for drive there.

The UK is very outdated and looks like an embarrassment for SCS. It looks like it's been abandoned. I don't believe the crap that they will get around to updating it in the future. Lets face it. They don't even want it on their map. The Uk give the world the first railway network and then trucks replaced trains. They deserve more credit than this.

Like by I mean "Wouldn't" what I could've said was "Couldn't they do Wales first then Scotland next, then finally England?" With the cities rework, we could use some new cities that are important as part of industry, like Bristol.
Yeah they could easily split it up into parts for reworking but it seems the devs are not interested in doing that because the UK isn't near the next big DLC release.
Seems like the devs as with most Europeans don't like the UK so why would they put any time into making it look as good as the rest of the game.
