"Scale to frame size" is just part of Premiere: Right clic on the clip and "scale to frame size". No need to remember percentages or anything. You are overselling it a little :)
Better yet, you can just go in PP settings and set it automatically do this everytime you drag footage to the timline
Actually, choosing "Set to Frame Size" is the better option. "Scale to Frame Size" stretches the image whereas "Set to Frame Size" adjusts the actual scale properties in the effects control panel.
@@AdamSzarmack I agree. But my point was that these are just commands you can do in seconds. It's just a different interface but it doesn't do computation or anything.
@@AdamSzarmack Recently learned this. Do you know what kind of problems this cause in the final quality of the video?
@@pushinpositivity33 most of the time it's probably fine. The only time you'll lose any kind of quality is if after choosing "scale to frame size" you then go back and zoom into the shot more. Because at that point you are technically not pushing into the full resolution of your clip but rather a rasterized version of it. But it's probably not something anyone would notice unless watching on a big monitor.
For all those dropping comments saying to right click and choose "Scale to Frame Size", just know that the better option is to actually choose "Set to Frame Size". Adobe really did a poor job of labeling the two choices but when picking "Scale to Frame Size" what actually occurs is more like a re-stretching of the image whereas, "Set to Frame Size" will truly adjust the scale properties of your clip in the effects control panel. So for example, if you drop a 3840x2160 clip into a 1920x1080 timeline and choose SET to frame size, it will then make the clip property of "scale" go to 50% whereas, if you were to choose SCALE to frame size, your clip will visually appear as though it's changed sizes however the clip "scale" property in the effects control panel will still read 100%. And if you suddenly have a need to push into that clip for some reason, it will have significant quality loss as you're no longer pushing into the original 4k resolution of your shot.
appreciate your comment
That depends on whether if you’re finishing in Premiere or another software like Resolve or Smoke. If you finish in another software and use Set to frame size, your resizing and positioning key frames won’t translate properly. So you’d have to redo them in the other software.
Thanks for that!
Just got one for Christmas !!! I'm all loupe out! Your the first video i watched to learn what it does..
the buttons don't seem too responsive.
Holy crap. This thing is nuts. It's like an Elgato Stream Deck for creatives.
Right!
This is so cool!
I really appreciated that you used the Macintosh computer to show the bells and whistles of the Loupedeck. Thanks for the details.
Fascinating 💙
This look awesome. I loved the previous version and this a huge upgrade and a lot smaller so it fits perfectly on a small desk. Great job Loupedeck. Great video.
Thanks for watching Chris
My computer is extremely strong for this year but it eventually became obsolete And now I understand that there is nothing more important than good content.
The Loupedeck CT Photo & Video Editing Console looks very impressive! I’m totally going to buy this product, and keep up the amazing work! 😁
Im definitely getting one of this. I can't think of a few other things that I can use it for. Thanks Armando
Some people seem to really like these, but I can't help but feel it's a solution in search of a problem. From a user experience perspective, you'd have to develop deep muscle memory with the Loupedeck interface before it would deliver any of the time saving benefits it promises. Once over that hurdle though, I could see how it would be beneficial. If I could drive this with my left hand like a keyboard without looking at it, then it would be pretty awesome, but from what I can tell that would take a lot of time, patience and commitment.
You make a good point, but there’s a lot of repetition in a lot of genres of photography, so a couple of projects in you’d learn pretty quick I reckon!
Yo this is pretty dope. I have a customized streamdeck at the moment but this is more geared towards editing. Nice video bro
Thanks for watching bro.
@@mondobytes No doubt bro. Always looking for dope tech and good content
CJKnowsTECH streamdeck + Loupedeck seems like a killer combo
@@pavelvitek766 crazy combo 😂
What do you think about Davinci micro Panel vs Loupedeck CT? to edit color in Davinci .
Will this work with color finale in fcpx ?
So, there are 12 programmable little windows/buttons per "page" on the Loupedeck and you can scroll though these pages, but how many pages are there? Also, would the Loupedeck be suitable for live streaming like the Elgato STream Deck?
Does it work for DaVinci resolve?
Hi Armando...is it overkill to combine both the CT and the Editing Console? And if you could only use one, which would you purchase? Thanks.
There is a more cheap option for some who is starting ?
Does the loopedeck store the settings locally? I’m a freelance editor and have to move from one workstation to another frequently and it would be great to attach this and have it just up and running.. but I guess I’ll have to install the software first and apply my own presets from home, correct?
What about the connectors and the cable that connects Loupedeck and your laptop? Is it just a simple USB2.0? What programs other than Adobe Pr can Loupedeck work with? Is there a separate installation program with Loupedeck, and is it possible to update? Grateful for answers.
Here's something I'm curious to ask. Would it be plausible to use both the loupedeck keyboard and deck for editing or just use the deck along with a normal keyboard?
Beauuuuuuutiful Console..👌🏻
If you click with the right button above the clip you want to scale up, the option "set to frame size" show`s up as well!
Just for you guys know about it, great vídeo ;)
Does it work with sony vegas pro?
Ohh now this does looks nice! I'm another Davinci Resolve dude (most of my content is based around it) so it's a real shame it's not compatible with Resolve (I know it's out of your hands). Blackmagic are starting to embrace their RUclips crowd so fingers crossed they'll make it happen 👍
Can you use this device for like procreate
if these guys start doing protools and even the other adobe competitors like affinity photo and affinity designer, i would be sold!
Hey Armando. Great review. Can you tell me if the Loupedeck CT can be used wirelessly please?
Awesome! Does it also works with After Effects?
Thanks for this video Armando! I just got my Loupedeck CT in and I'm having trouble. I do feel a bit overwhelmed by the software and functions of the Loupedeck. I'm wondering if you've tried the TourBox also? I'm thinking the simplicity of the TourBox might be for my. I've been editing with Premiere for about 6yrs + now so I'm used to the keyboard + mouse combo with lots of hotkeys. I honestly feel like staring down at the Loupedeck slows me down. I will also say that I love getting deep into tech and complicated tech at that. I mess around with modular synths so I'm no stranger to menu diving and reading manuals. Just not sure if the Loupedeck is for me.
Hey Armando, Just found your channel, new subscriber, what editing programs do you think they will add to the line up of what it already works with ??? Is there a chance one would be hopefully Vegas 17 ??
Can this work with tangent ripple? Alongside i mean
Nice & Thanks :)
Could this also work with Unreal Engine???
Hi, My friend Armando, gran aporte, saludos de Lima - Perú
I think I prefer the loop deck. Loving how everything is laid out instead of having to toggle, that's just an extra button to press making the workflow slower.
If you're fully committed to using an editing panel I agree.
@@mondobytes I use my keyboard to do everything until I get to the color grade portion and switch to the loupedeck plus. Awesome recommendation btw.
will this work with other editing tool like Filmora?
Thanks Armando. Think I’d grab one of these if it worked with Resolve NLE. Even at over 500 clams it’s a better deal than then BM editing keyboard plus one of their color panels. When is LoopDeck going to get their head around the fact that Davinci Resolve is taking over the NLE space and they need to be on board with it ?
will it work with davici resolve
I’m not a pro, I think voice commanding will make a lot of edits faster.
Is there such a thing???
if it works with Resolve, I'm getting it
Could you program it so you can use it as a stream deck option ? (like the one from elgato)
I am curious too. I just bought the el gato
Does it work with Davinci?
Does it work for iPadOS
It’s really nice. Pricey though. They should make it work with Resolve as Premiere sadly is on the wrong side of the growth curb.
FCPX too
@@JHNBHN nah, it's made for grown ups.
Does it work on FCPX ?
Can you use with apps that LoupeDeck doesn't support out of the box by assigning keyboard shortcuts to buttons?
It works on certain apps but I haven't tried it on everything.
7:35 it's really big delay there and lags?
Fyi You can just right click and hit "scale to frame size" and it will auto adjust whatever clip you have highlighted.
What if I don't want to scale to frame size, what if I want to scale to exactly 56.5% I can program a button to do just that, something you CAN"T do with shortcuts.
@@mondobytes Oh yeah I'm not trying to downplay the usefulness of this device. I mean even just for the quick customizable nobs and dials for fast adjustments this is pretty awesome. Just wanted to clarify that the "scale to frame size" option is a lot more standard use than remembering specific ratios and it can be applied across all the clips in a timeline at once. Rad video though man! :)
@@Skapo just some friendly advice, it's actually better to choose SET to frame size instead of SCALE to frame size from the menu. Adobe did a poor job of labeling them, but "scale to frame size" actually just stretches (or de-stretches?) the image to fill the space of the window where as "SET to frame size" truly adjusts the scale properties of the clip as seen in the effects control panel. So in some cases, choosing "scale to frame size" can actually cause picture quality loss.
cual es tu Mouse?
does it work with davinci ?
Online editors swear by this! I've never used one personally, but looks cool! Speaking of cool, nice T-shirt. Looking forward to The Mandalorian?
I watched about 15 mins of the mandalorian it looks absolutely epic!!!
Nice
how to adjust curves with this LOUPEDECK CT
Pretty nice. And it might be a help here and there. But it's not for me. I prefer to edit an any computer in any configuration by using the default setup. Works just fine for me and I don't believe that I could speed up things with this device. The only addition I really like is the blackmagic resolve (mini) panel or keyboard, but they only work with Davinci. But anyway - nice tool if you want to spend $500 for it.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts anyway.
what's your mouse bro!
Love this. Would be interested in seeing it being used with final cut.
I made a video which touches on the FCPX integration ;)
Very interesting, does it works with the colorista plugin on premiere?
Antoine Proulx I don't use Colorista so I couldn't tell you.
Make a video how we can edit videos on davinci resolve with this ty.
Be careful with the scale to frame size option if you have to send s Xml out for color. Use always set to frame size in that case.
nice video
Right-click - scale to frame size :D
Great video. In watching it I noticed you use "Scale To Frame Size" rather than "Set To Frame Size" option in Premiere. Just wanted to give you a heads up that "Scale To Frame Size" rasterizes the asset to the timeline's resolution. So, if your image is a higher resolution you loose resolution by choosing "Scale to..." instead of "Set to...". For the most part, "Set to..." is the better option for maintaining maximum resolution of your image.
3:00 don't use scale to frame size but scale to frame as scale to frame size does some wierd shit to the footage, I have it bound to shift f
Looking very good. I expected high price but not this high haha. I can see myself spending 300$ max for this. Interesting little device anyways!
Dear Santa! x'D
Sergio Cuen 🤣
u can use it to adjust your audio gains...
Armando, content of the video aside, I am consistently blown away with every lighting set-up in your videos. Each one looks so properly and meticulously done. Dimensional enough that it holds my attention, but not dramatic enough to distract me from what you're saying. I searched your channel for a lighting tutorial on your set-up, but couldn't find any. What lights do you use? And where are they positioned? Hope to hear from you. :)
White Sun Films I haven't made a video on this current setup, thinking of doing it in the next week or two
@@mondobytes That would be awesome!!
Nice product!! Armando, do you know if is it possible to use on iPad to control LumaFusion?? Thanks man!
Fernando Goya it would also be great, if I could use it on my tinder for iPad
Mister T tinder?? Kkkk
Grindr
WTF you guys are talking about it???
Nice litte gadget but without an on/off buttom. No Pouch
Is this still any good? Was considering it.
Shawn Shaman I still use mine and really like it
wow - The color of your video looks amazing - did you usevany special LUT or grading .. tell us please How? . Thanks
Rosomyat next video 😉
@@mondobytes can't wait to see it. Thanks
how can you not use ripple delete?
I use it all the time lol
1:51...deck working perfectly
Review the Sigma fp 🙏🏽
stumbled in your channel! Where does that name come from? Azorean Portuguese?
Does it work with resolve
no
The title should be Edit and Color Faster with Adobe PP while spending money at the same time
👍👍👍🍻
Did you ever give away the loop deck... I was really hoping you picked Mara's Eye Photography
Sure did I announced it on Twitter.
@@mondobytes dang she didn't get picked :-(
Make it work with Davinci Resolve..🙌🏻
So what is better for editing? Loupedeck + or CT? :P
I like CT better
Ok. Aaand does it work with another software like davinci or cinema grade? Everywhere is talking only about adobe and final cut
Hey off topic question! Do you have a lut set for sale? Because I could use something to spice up my c200 footage
For all you peoples who don't wanna spend the money, you can highlight all your clips, right click and then click scale to frame size from that menu.
There's more to it than just that 😂
For me, i feel this is not really important and it won't really improve much editing speed and workflow. Mostly can be done using shortcuts which everyone already familiar with it. Unless it got macro key which can automate the action. For example, i can customize and arrange all the effects that i want to insert to the footage. One press button and it will auto apply all the effects that i already set. I know this can be done by using macro keys but i don't know coding.
You don't use Ripple Delete!? WTH hahaha. One of my favorite tools.
James Mathews use it all the time lol
i’ll buy it when Adobe adds ‘un-nest!’
For real!
remember the dark ages when you couldn't change the sequence settings once you've started working in it? and what happened to the old fcp 7 command "collapse multiclip" (same as unnest) ?!
Bro how do you not use ripple delete?? s// You're crazy!! //s
You dont need to figure out the resolution just right click with mouse and scale to frame size. Same shit with loupdeck :D
we need the third hand
stream deck for editors
I wish it was wireless and would use Bluetooth
I've heard it does have BT but its not enabled yet, but will be in a future update. But i wouldn't hold my breath
When you see a macro keyboard and it has a display, expect nothing less than hundredths and hundredths of €.
So for everyone who can't get money from trees, we can watch him play with the toy.
Not really a fan of the digital portion and swiping etc, might as well just use a tablet or a mouse at that point, or an ipad.
a keyboard is more than enough, you are just selling us this product that's about it.
I know it is good but It just overkill to me
Agree
ungraded shot at 9:09 :P
i think scale to frame size is one of basic feature from adobe premiere wkwkwkwkw
