"Thats evil, no thats Hollywood" probably one of the most factual statements I've ever seen
No joke, see the interviews with the ceos saying (not verbatim) “we’ll wait it out until they’re losing their homes, then they’ll come back” and “its a necessary evil”.

If people realize, with out them, these streaming companies wouldn't have any money! LBG is a legend!
Huh I'm confused ?
idk why people don't think that in the first place. the hollywood big wigs' job is appealing to us and getting our viewership, they're whole paycheck is made by us. ever making new media in their hopeful plan of pinching 1 more cent from our wallets
@@TvTink I don't get why you are confused my friend.
"wouldn't be nothing" so they would be something?
@@tarkamlokar9709Yk what he meant
"They make us a lot of money." That statement seems to fly over so many peoples heads.
Been losing them a Lot lately, though. Hahaha
Im confused. What time period Are you referencing, because yes in the past they used to make us a lot of money but in the current phase I read every single entertainment company's financials. We aren't making money from this anymore. I mean, there was literally a recent article showing that Disney has lost over a billion dollars at the recent box-office films. Why would I as a shareholder in any of these companies allow you, the CEO, to pay people who are losing US money more money? That's a great way to lose your job. The average CEO tenure is 4 years for a reason, it's easy to piss investors off. This current situation pisses investors off. And if those writers get more money for losing money, it will literally drive me insane. I will vote my shares for your removal. That's why ceos don't last long. Shareholders are easy to irritate. Those writers deserve nothing. Until we get back to the original profitability that used to be happening at the box office, they can kindly f off. Business isn't handouts. Either perform, or gtfo.
@@Tential1
This mf angry that writers want a decent raise 🤓
@Tential1 I feel like this is a generalized statement that misses a lot of what can go on in the writing/production of TV shows and movies. Don't forget that in a lot of these situations, writers do not have the creative freedoms/liberties to write whatever they want as they have to bend to the will of their higher ups. An example of a TV show being canceled by Disney executives not because it was unpopular but because they just felt like it is Owl House. That's the most recent example that sticks in my mind, I'm sure there are plenty of others to pick from every major media outlet. So I feel as though "perform or gtfo" is harsh considering that there are likely many nuances to each situation that led to box office failures that weren't the writers fault. Or at least not entirely their fault. Corporations can make stupid decisions.
@@Tential1screw your shares lol. I hope you lose everything.
I'm all in on this video. Griffy has provided more entertainment over the last 5 years than Hollywood in the last 8.
Damn what a world we live in to know that’s lowkey facts
U can tell he got the same smoke for BET that the boondocks producers got 🤣 🤣
That's a take
LBG, Tra Rags and RDC have better content than most Streaming platforms
Man ain’t lying. Griffy is stating the truth about Hollywood’s darkest shady businesses. No matter how talented the actor is, and how money they make. Hollywood will still treat them like dirt.
was once at work and the big man in charge told everyone something along the lines of "Not one of you goes unnoticed, every single one of you was hand selected by me because you are the best of the best at what you do, and I am proud to work with every single one of you, but never get it in your head that you are irreplaceable, because as the best that means someone looks up to you, someone wants to be like you, and one day they will be better than you" in reference to having to fire people for opiate abuse, and those people thought it wouldn't happen because they were to valuable. As an employee, nobody will ever be so good at what they do that they can never be replaced, certainly nobody with as common of a skill as acting
this is not me bragging saying I'm so great at what I do, at the time of this speech I was brand new and was barely learning where stuff was let alone how to fix it
The problem with this is that EVENTUALLY, Union work will resume, all stars are Union workers. And when it does resume, the workers who did take jobs during the strike, are blacklisted and not hired by Union productions (the vast majority of work done in Hollywood). And its also a mark against you in the general entertainment industry. Companies are just using scabs as fodder to be spat out later.
in communist Canada, people cannot legally be fired for substance abuse, and the employer has to keep them employed while they take medical leave.
@@stuart6478 Bruv hold your horses, I'm glad you're so gung ho for drug rehabilitation but lets deal with the RELEVANT ISSUES right? Nobody is pushing for that in this strike so quit the, "Slippery Slope," cliche.
As my father always told his director "remember, you can fire me at any time. Which means I don't have to be here unless we both decide I do"

This skit was actually trying to highlight what the Studio Executives would be saying, not the Producers. Producers in Hollywood are actually greatly impacted by the strike as a Producer manages onset logistics (there are no sets rn) and even EPs manage offset stuff like contract negotiations and deal with studio executives (which is all shutdown rn).
His made up term "executive Hollywood Producer" doesn't make any sense in the context of this skit.
Damn this started out as askit and ended up being a monologue about how the establishment would fall if we all just banded together and realized that we are stronger than they want us to believe. Or some shit like that

"IMMA DO ME, BITCH" I feel like a lot of closed door meetings with some of these executives use this type of language
Legend has it, when the producer came home that day, he found his house on fire and Rob Perlman pointing a flamethrower at the producer. “I’m fireproof, your not.”
I loved Rob Perlman in Nephews of Chaos, Babe and the Monster, and when he played HadesKid.
Well, it looks like Griffy could take a week off and just change it to "Video Game Execs watching the SAG-AFTRA strike".

Griffy hitting on the latest topics as usual. Great job man!!!
"Let them fight for food!" - Hollywood directors watching starving actors and writers on strike.
Starving actors? Um no. As for the writers, people who write garbage like what Hollywood has been lately putting out should be starving.
Yeah, I feel so bad for those actors and writers, they were forced to become actors and writers and now they're starving...
@@captainvanisher988even people who write good shows, like the Emmy nominated Bear? You're not going to get more good shows if you pay even the people who make good stuff shit.
@@SeiferVII Do you actually think awards nowadays mean jacksh*t? Good shows rarely get nominated and the awards are just a virtue signaling sh*tfest for directors and actors to tell us what to think and who to vote for. They're paid more than enough, movies nowadays have disproportionally larger budgets that all go to the crew, writers and special effects. Old movies had small budgets compared to new ones (adjusted inflation) and somehow good writers and actors even then were pretty well off. But here's the thing, they had to be good.
@@captainvanisher988 OK but in this case the show was actually pretty damn good, and the writers still got paid shit. That's my point.
Almost had to join the producers side when he mentioned supergirl 😂
Griffy's producer spitting facts about whom these Hollywood writers are targeting tho 💀
Lmao this shit is mad accurate. Only part you missed is the fact that they don’t need extras anymore due to AI. And they barely need main actors watch
Well that's a major issue being negotiated at this strike! Studios tried using people's likeness for AI so they can be used as extras FOREVER, for a single days pay and people did not take too kindly to that.
What gets me every time is how right he is when he does these kinds of sketches. Its just brilliance bro! 🤣😂
"i survived the me too movement" this line right here. In all honesty i think it's interesting that there's a strike for underpaid writers (which i don't think is wrong) but it seems like not much were done for the people who were hurt by these executives and producers.
Damn as a acting major - I’m laughing but this lowkey hurt😂
"No that's hollywood.." that cracked me up😂
The red head got balls and he survived the me-too movement
If we cancel our subscription to these services and not step into a cinema they may actually sit up straight and pay attention. However, we got people on twitter complaining the writers are being unreasonable.
Can't really sympathize with the Hollywood writers when they've been producing shit for years atleast my shitty subscription lets me watch some good classics before they got ruined by modern Hollywood
Canceling our subs doesn't tell them we stand we the strikers, it just tell them we're not interested their conent. and for shit they've been putting out for these last half decade, why even bother subbing to their garbage anyway. like i give a damn what these awful writers want. for all i know they're being paid too much.
People already don't go to the cinemas so we're halfway there already

A.I will replace these jobs leaving strikers out of a job.
3:11 Me in college worried about the job market: I'm totally okay with this plan
Not gonna lie... Super Girl being written by AI does make a lot of sense 😅
. . . Ya know, little while ago I had the thought "damn there are so many shows! Wish there was little break so I could catch up on some of them". Didn't realize I had a monkey paw,
But hey, I get time to catch up(just started Breaking bad), and hopefully SAG get 70-80% of what they ask for(or more but it's rare they'll get everything)
“No that’s Hollywood.” I mean he’s not wrong.
It'll be real interesting to see what executives do without writers OR actors. Last time there was a strike in the 2000's, studios turned to pumping out reality TV shows and game shows where you don't need union actors or writers, and it worked then, but I don't know if as many Americans have the same low-brow taste for that schlock as they did in the past. Maybe they do. We'll have to see. AI isn't advanced enough quite yet that they can start producing whole shows written and filmed and acted by it.
And Netflix got a bunch of Korean dramas during the writers strike.
"I survived the me too movement, this?....." I'm dead. I'm beyond dead. Please res.

Good. No one wants the same quality of shows. That's kind of the point.....
Acting like writing could get much worse.
Exactly 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I bet more people would be supportive of the strike if 99% of movies and tv shows weren't absolute trash.
You're angry with the wrong people. Executives squeezing writers in an already harsh economy only makes and have made your media worse.
