He’s been injured 4 different times in college, I don’t see how his injuries would be any better in the NFL against fast and stronger defenders. His film is impressive but won’t matter when he’s on injury reserve.
Who wants to be safe with penix at 11 and then 23 we get a big nt in the middle and we get more starters instead of using 4 picks to get up to the 3rd and chance it

@@joshuawilliams2447 the draft is always a crap shoot. I don’t disagree with your statement but I think the Vikings need to try to draft a franchise quarterback. Unfortunately it’s hard to know who that will be. If they think Penix is the best option then go for it but if they think someone else is their guy I’m not opposed to sending a haul to draft that guy. The 49ers whiffed on Lance and gave up a huge chunk of draft capital and they still made the Super Bowl. Granted they got lucky IMO with Purdy but losing draft picks didn’t hurt them. Similarly the Rams sent a haul to Detroit to get Matthew Stafford and although they were down two years ago they really should have beaten the Lions in the playoffs last year. My point is that most great teams win because of many factors and the draft is supplemental. The teams that always draft high are bad teams

Penix is the best QB in the class! Its not close. Remember that his 72% competion rate is while throwing it way further down the field than the competition! JJ and Nix were dinking and dunking it all day! Trade up to 5 or we will probably miss him!!

Next question... do we trade Darrisaw since the LT position isnt viewed as a premium for a left handed QB? Dont get me wrong, I love Darrisaw and would hate for him to go but is it worth spending +$100MM for a top 3 LT vs getting this kid a solid RT and guards?
You didn't have to sell me, but glad you guys covered a few of his plays. Would have love to see 1-2 with Penix under pressure or running throws. I've been on the Penix wagon for a while now. Daniels had me switching allegiances for a good minute but Mikey P is a smooth operator. Plus, titanium fixes everything if injuries become a concern.

The route running, hands, and speed we have at receiver, coupled with the quick release cannon arm and pinpoint accuracy of the Purple Archer....ahhhhh shades of 98, 2024 version. Different, but equally deadly.

With the way the new regime seems to operate it wouldn’t surprise me to see us draft Penix. They like guys who have the reps and Penix definitely has the reps.
If you draft Penix you need a very very good oline and you need a pass catcher like moss or else you will see bunch of interceptions.

I hope you do Bo Nix. He isn't very popular around these parts. I don't understand. He does the rollout to the left and throws strikes on the run right up there with Kirk. You don't throw for 4508 yards and throw 48 TD throwing spitballs behind the line of scrimmage. I need to understand. Because if we can't get Drake or the Bear. It's between Penix and Nix. I can't buy into the McCarthy hype.
I think it's good that we took JJ. It's just, I don't think, we ever had a lefty QB.
When I look at the entirety of comments by guys who wouldn't draft Penix Jr, or wouldn't draft him in any early rounds it sounds like: Penix is a younger Russell Willson, with a more accurate arm, easier to coach, and his teammates like him.
I hope a few games in his first year or two starting a coach has him 10 to 20 plays in a row throw the hot route, or throw guys open on the short to medium pass.
Obviously he needs to learn to stay safe in the pocket especially while standing tall. Brady and Payton Manning where great at playing tall in the pocket, but I hope Penix can learn from Brady's otherworldly ability to stand tall in the pocket and not get sacked. Guys can't do what Brady di standing tall without taking sacks, and that was what made him great. Manning or Brading in the pocket standing tall, even bouncing on the balls of there feet was amazing.

We won’t be able to stay at 11 and get Penix. If we do it would shock me. The Broncos and Raiders both are desperate for a QB.

My concern is how does Christian Darasaw fit into this equation and whether or not Michael's floor and ceiling are a question. Draft Michael penix and you might as well trade Christian for a first-round pick... Not ideal in my book. Thoughts?

Here's the thing you all need to think about and ask yourselves: Yes, Michael Penix looks fantastic and could be a really good QB. But...do you see him as a truly LONG TERM franchise QB? Do you see this guy playing into his mid 30s? Given his injury history and his style of play, I certainly don't. I see him having a few very good years and then ultimately fizzling out due to injuries and not consistently being there for his team. So...do you REALLY see this guy being the answer for the franchise?
showing his deep ball skills but where's the accuracy in short field? what about in high pressure moments in the middle of the field. He strives in great things yet lacks in basics at an old age. Can't teach an old dog new tricks. Not to mention his injuries.

Better than Daniel’s
Penix is Undraftable 25-26 year old rookie who played 5 seasons and had 4 season ending injuries. He is just as soft as the waste of 2 1st rd draft picks Teddy Bridgewater they are soft have bird bones it doesn't matter how far you can throw a ball when you're on the IR roster every single season. He was embarrassed in the Championship game vs JJ. Penix would get the entire staff fired and I will make that happen.
This guy is a walking error. Technically, he is still 23 years old JUST LIKE Jayden Daniels. Daniels played 3 seasons at ASU in PAC12 with mediocre to average result before transferring to LSU. Last year, Daniels had a less than average result; this year he had a stellar season beating out Penix for the Heisman . Daniels is a mere 6 months younger than Penix. According to you, Daniel must be an Undraftable 25-26 old rookie.
LSU had a winning team with superior talent when Daniels arrived. Before Penix transferred to WA, the Huskies had a record of 4-8.
Penix played 4 injury filled seasons at Indiana. He played two seasons at Washington. He had more snaps, throws, and completions in each of the two seasons at Washington than 4 season at Indiana combined. And, he played more games in two seasons at WA than he played at 4 seasons at Indiana. During the Pro Day, he had under 4.5 in 40, one of the highest vertical jump ever by a QB. Supposedly, only Michael Vick had better stat as a QB.
According to you, Caleb Williams embarrassed himself when he played the bottom dweller Colorado in Pac12. Williams also embarrassed himself when he played Penix and Washington. You're making an astute analysis; you must have something in your head that nobody else does. Genius.
