  • My first thoughts on the Appletree Appleslice V2 wingfoil board. I got the 4'9" 60L version (mine was 23" wide as a pre-production board, the production version is 22.5" wide) and absolutely love it for wave-riding. The narrow and pointy outline is what makes this board your perfect wave riding machine imo.
My first board was a 90L Quattro Wing Drifter 5'4" on which I pretty much learned to wingfoil on. At some point in my progression I learned how to waterstart my 35L prone board and from that moment I knew how awesome it feels to ride a small board, given the reduced swing weight.
I started looking for something in between 90L and 35L and at my weight of 78kg I figured 60L would be right in the sweetspot: easy to waterstart, but small enough to not feel the swing weight.
I don't think I'll ever use my 35L prone board for winging anymore, the extra swing weight on the 60L is hardly noticeable but it's 10x easier to waterstart and in much lighter wind.
The board is super solid with Appletree's proprietary construction method, check it out!
