Hazbin Hotel has just been given the go ahead for a season 3 and 4. I'm hoping now that they have an idea of how many epsiodes they have (This season feels rushed because they weren't entirely sure how many epsiodes they'd get when they started ) they will slow down on the pacing a bit and focus a bit more on the characters.

22:46 Husk mentioned that Alastor is on a leash which means that someone owns Alastor's soul and possibly sent him to Hazbin Hotel for something. There are two theories in the fandom, one is that he made a deal seven years ago and the other is that he made a deal during his lifetime, so after appearing in Hell, he overthrew the old Overlords except for Zestial overnight. There are several theories who is his master:
1. One of the sins (except for Lucifer because he didn't know Alastor before this episode). But sins will not affect much (if at all) the plot of Hazbin Hotel, their greater involvement in Helluva Boss, because Viv just wants a crossover episode with all seven sins, but not a complete interweaving of plots.
2. One of the Goetia family. It would make sense, but Goetia is purely Helluva Boss plot.
3. Lilith. She and Alastor have both been missing for seven years.
4. Eve/coming character. I can't say much about it, because it is mostly like will be true in the show. Eva and this character can be the same, or they can be different characters.
5. Loa spirits. Voodoo veves fly around Alastor when he uses his magic. Maybe loa exists in this series and Alastor made a deal with them. There is a combined theory that the owner of Alastor's soul pretended to be a loa for him, because it is easier for a creole from Louisiana to serve the pantheon of his environment than an unknown being.

Alastor hates Lucifer because he can't believe that this guy can rule Hell and can influence Charlie's opinion to interfere with Alastor's unknown plans.
I can't blame Lucifer for not believing Charlie's dream could work. The poor guy was banished to Hell because he wanted to gift humanity with free will and then was prevented from seeing the good that his gift brought, only the bad and the wicked. All of his dreams were crushed by Heaven, a place full of rules that need to be followed to the letter and with a narrow perspective of what it means to be "good". Of course he would not have faith on the rehabilition of sinners.
For me, if Lucifer hates Alastor it's either because he's jealous that Charlie asked someone else to help him with the hotel (let's remember that in this universe he is the embodiment of the sin of pride) or because he can feel a kind of aura of karma when he meets people and that this aura has allowed him to understand that Alastor can be dangerous for his beloved daughter.
Charlie herself never said she had daddy issues, that's how other people saw it.
Alastor's backstory was given during the pilot, so most people won't know it, since it's not available on Prime with the rest of the series.

I think Lucifer doesn't like Alastor, because Alastor has basically been messing with Lucifer since minute one.
Lucifer hates Alastor for 2 main reasons:
1. He sees him as competition for a paternal figure in Charlie`s life
2. He sees Sinners as all being violent psychopaths hellbent on chaos and destruction.
Vaggie tells about Alistors backstory in the pilot epsiode. The pilot episode was released on youtube 4 years before the rest of the show and is not included on Prime. Anyone who just watched the show on Prime would not know his backstory unless they specifically looked for the pilot so Mimsy is giving it for those people.
Lucifer has been stuck in hell seeing nothing but the worst of humanity for thousands of years. It's not suprising he has a low opinion of them.

I did a reaction to the pilot of the show.
As for why Alastor hates Lucifer:
1. He had an abusive alcoholic physically and verbally abusive racist father(His mother whom he preferred was Creole of Haitian descent hence him referencing her cooking jumbalaya
for him in the Pilot, that`s also how he knew voodoo/vodun even before becoming a demon, one of his mom`s friends from Haiti taught him at a jazz festival on Mardi Gras) hence "Unfortunately, a birth parent can be a dud, the family you choose is better".
2.Alastor hates any demon or fallen angel more powerful than himself.

Some stories of Lilith have her cursed with the inability to have children, with all of hers being either born dead or dying shortly after being born. It could be Charlie isn't their first child, just the first one to survive.

I heard that Vivz even confirmed that Charlie was fathered by Lucifer, because of the abortion curse. I can only assume that this led to some tension between Lucifer and Lilith and I wonder if that was part of why they broke up. I too am HELLUVA SUS from Lilith. Even before the end of this episode.
Maybe the fruit appears as an apple to sinners because that`s a common misconception on Earth and maybe Luci got so tired of correcting mortals he just adapted.

in my opinion lilith was gaslighting charlie into believing she has daddy issues. i think she does not want charlie to be influenced by lucifer for some reason since lilith is shown to detach charlie from lucifer from charlie's memory.
Lilith is known to betray. It wouldn't surprise me.
Lilith's gaslighting is crazy. That book in the beginning works like propaganda against Lucifer. What else is lie in this book? Yes, I agree that it’s the same as if the conventionally evil Dumbledore was not shown, and the story began after his death. It’s just that until they show a flashbacks of all these relationships and intrigies, I’ll just think that Charlie is a fusion of Lucifer’s dreams and Lilith’s determination 50/50. Conventionally, 50 good and 50 evil, but of course this is not so simple

I thought you'd hate Lucifer too, it's such a relief to hear you say you like him. He's a ray of sunshine and so much like Charlie. It's clear to see who she takes after. She's just more sheltered. I think Lucifer instantly hated Alastor because Alastor instantly decided to fuck with him by acting fatherly to Charlie which he's never done before. He did it just to rub salt into the wound.
I think Alastor has a dislike for father figures in general and a natural inclination for treating women well as a result of his relationship with his parents.
The eye theory was a pretty common/popular theory for a bit, but I think it got debunked

Honestly idk why charlie could not technically have wings, but maybe thats some angelic power she doesnt really tap into (or is able to harness? We dont know how much of her angelic side of the family she can use.) She's mostly only really tried using the demonic features she shares with luci

I like seeing your perspective even if I don't agree on everything but I do know I don't hate her so I hope no one thinks I do, I just dislike her but I didn't really care for mimzy she is definitely my least fav character next too Valentino although I love Val's design however.
