Hello Barbara! I’m really enjoying this series. I love watching you collage and transform each page. Hope you are doing well and staying home often. Hugs💘
Wow, I am late to the party. like almost 3 years. Oh well, I am working this altered book with you now Barbara. It is a great chance to learn and try new styles. You are soooo much fun.
Your book pages are gorgeous Barbara! After seeing your stamp album I went to eBay and won one very similar, it said 30 stamps were included but when it arrived it had over 30 pages full of stamps all from Jersey!! It cost me €2 plus postage but I now have hundreds of stamps to use xxx💕
You’re not a true crafter if you don’t get a little mess on yourself. I’m really enjoying watching this. I’m going to go to our old book store tomorrow and get started. You have a new subscriber in me.🤗
Very well done!! Enjoying how calm and smooth paced your presentation is. Thank you. They closed our flea market permanently shortly after the pandemic hit. A lot of people would come from miles around. We were sad. 💜💜💜
Barbara! I am so grateful for your tutorial on altering a book into a journal. Applying your method of applying glue where the pages is torn out really help me to be more successful in creating a sturdy book the second time around. I however love to collage on a colorful background. At this stage I am creating a blue themed journal. What fun!! Thank you so much.
So beautiful ❤ I always go back & watch this. It’s so much fun lol Just the beautiful simplicity of it all & the majestic fun results are so beautiful . Thank you Love again. It’s a view from the past
Hi Barbara, you are the queen of collage 😁 your book is beautiful, loved the napkin pages 💖 I've added my pockets so hoping to start decorating today. TYFS lots of love 💖🎶
Have you tried the clear gesso?I really like it. The brand I have is Liquitex. I makes my napkin and collage pages sealed and protected but not shiney. Thank you for your videos, I am so inspired to try your ideas, and appreciate your comments on your process.
Mod podge instructions to it's user is to seal after applying mod podge ( I learned the hard way if you don't seal over time, your page will become very sticky ). If you really want it flat matte, use a matte clear acrylic spray several thin coats. & ensure to doesn't stick to your other page. If you don't feel like going outdoor to spray use several coats of hairspray ( still be sure to have your room ventilated)☻☺ After spraying, dust it with cornstarch or baby powder. It's really easy to make a dust pouch with muslin if you want to make the dusting process easier. Sew 3 sides of 2 pieces of rectangular muslin together, use a funnel and put in baby powder or corn starch then sew the 4th side of the 2 pieces together and then pat your page with your homemade non stick pouch :) An alternative to the matte spray paint would be rubbing warm white or cream candle/crayon/wax over your page, this will seal it :) LOVE YOUR WORK!!! ♥♥
I didn’t read all the comments so it may already have been said but Andrea at ArtyMaze usually uses an emery board to lightly sand the mod podge to cut back on the shine a little. You just have to make sure it’s REALLY dry. Hope that is helpful.
Hi Barbara another great video. Love watching you do your collage. We are on a month’s lockdown in the UK so got more time to make my altered book. Thanks for the inspiration. Take care. Xx
I like how u have 8 parts step by step and so easy to watch & follow u so 3 more after this one Tomo I will go buy a book and watch from part 1 to 8 & copy u
I am watching your "struggle" with the rose napkin. It looks lovely to me! Angela Allen uses sandpaper sometimes. It might take the shine off!!! Love your videos. xx
After seeing you sort out your stamps I bought an old stamp album off eBay (UK) My stamps were in a box all mixed up. I had great fun sorting them out and got some beautiful ones with the album. Not much housework got done that day. Ha!!! Keep safe everyone. X
Hi Barbara I use clear gesso matte and it is not shiny at all and is great as a layer over napkins or collage. I dont like mod podge because its shiny and sticky. However, If you rub the mod podge with some white wax, like a piece of candle it won't stick to other pages and it takes away some of the shiny. I'm new to journals but not collage 🙂❤
Hi my dear friend😊!! I just love how everything is going🤩😍.....l fancy that mine could also be like yours☺...your videos always have tons of creativity & inspiration😊❤ YOU ARE MAGICAL!💙
You are a life saver!!! I had a very stressful day at school Friday and where did I turn?.....of course to my altered book. I did quite a few collages and felt SO much better!!! Thank you Barbara! I heard somewhere to put corn starch on top of mod podge pages to keep them from sticking to the next page and it dulls it down some too.
ILOVE THIS! I just made my first Junk Journal video last week!. I'm already starting on the next one. I will use your video on how to edit for this one. ( I didn't discover it until I did a whole lot of video watching !). Thank you for your help! I look forward to being part of the JJ community!! If I'm allowed in!!!!
Thank you Johanne! Congratulations on making your first video and welcome to the junk journal RUclips creator community! 😃❤️. It’s a brave thing to do! 👍🏻☺️. Good luck with your channel! I will go have a look as soon as I can! 😊
Thanks for another great video. An altered book is definitely on my future project list. I have purchased stamps from the Weeds and Wishes Store on Etsy. She has good prices and is a reliable seller.
LG Nicole K.
I'm following your altered book and loving it! I hope to make one soon. The only question on my mind is why don't you make extra pockets on some of the pages you decorate? Thank you so much for sharing. ❤🙏👍
I started watching this series again, cuz I just love your work. Do you ever put anything in the pockets? Do you ever make any of these albums for photos?
Hi Barbara: Are you going to finish this book on video? I have worked on a book from the beginning and shamefully, copying every page I could and have been having so much fun. I don't want to do pages without you if you are finishing your book with other pagers and ephemera?
I have a book from the attorneys office they replaced and gave me. I’m going to use black and white photos from my child hood and see what I can come up with!
@@49dragonflies it’s so lovely and I’m only at video #5. I am at my home in Malta and need to find second hand stores for an old book. Any thoughts for access to ephemera etc in Europe?
