I listed to this episode after the 5000 subscribeer episode while driving to Boston. Listening to you describe his story I had tears in my eyes. Kahan Gaye woh din. I was young in those days so watched the 99 match and the 2005 series but now just watch highlights and listen to your show for real commentary for what's happening in Pakistan cricket
One of the best podcasts I've heard in a while! I am fast bowling aficionado and a massive Shoaib Akhtar fan (in fact, I remodeled my bowling action so that I could bowl fast like the fucker! That was the impact of those two balls) It was an absolute pleasure listening to all your stories. Please keep them coming. Love from India :)
HELL YEAAAAAAAAAH BROO... Good stuff good stufff. Last time i saw both of you on PiPY, Osman bhai was clean shaved, and you, well, you were a malangi tayaara LOLOLOl. A lot has changed. But i hope that our love for cricket is still the same
Watching that spell is one of my earliest cricket memories. I was 6 at that time. I vividly remember the build up, when Sachin was walking to the crease. When I asked why the crowd was so excited, Dad told me 'this is the greatest batsman in the world and Indians believe he is god'. Then 'Boom'. I remember that silence on the TV. I asked Dad again what had happened and he goes 'Sachin has never got out on a duck before and Shoaib has bowled him, on the very first ball, in India!'
A Pakistani cricket podcast I can make time for 🙌🏽 Wasim Akram pronounces "Shaiby" perfectly 👌🏽 btw but Akhtar's bowling matched his bubbly, extravagant personality to a tee. Also, I read the Unquiet Ones so must re read to remind myself what the private actions of the public religious piety shown under the leadership of big Inzy 🤔😄
Players like Shoaib are once-in-a-era events. He should have been left alone to do what he knew best. The only thing that tarnished his career was the taming tendencies of the people around him. He should be left alone and told” Go get them, tiger”. Alas! It didn’t happen.
For an episode on Shoaib Akhtar, its amazing that you did not even discuss the rampage he caused in Colombo against Australia in a single spell. With probably the best yorkers one could imagine. Sed reacts folks.
Kisi agle episode mein, if another Shoaib spell comes up, uske slower ki baat zaroor honi chahiye. PCB posted a video of his wickets vs England in the 2005 series and those slower ones were just 🤌🏾
Guys please get better quality mics, podcasts are known for sound quality I failed to enjoy this on my latest version iPad available, which has the best sound clarity than rest of my devices.
Kookaburra ball--- you forgot that this was a acc test championship ... it was played with Kookaburra balls .. first 2 tests were pkayed with with a sg ball.. Ind, pak, sl and bangladesh 🇧🇩... i think shoaib played cricket so that he could show everyone that he could ball fast ... 154 km/hr is an event !! I like how osman frames culture and sport...
I think this moment got over shadowed by Sachin smacking Akthar for a 6 over point in 2003. That's what most people remember. Interesting to see a Pak perspective of the Sachin/Akthar contest
@@alisiddiqui2197 Fair enough. The other thing I remember about Akthar is actually Harbhajan smashing him around like a spinner 😁 I think this was total fluke and I don't think Akthar made any impact against India. Even in Pak 2004, I only remember Sehwag smashing him around
I think Akram was different. He was more difficult to face, in Chennai or Australia. His skill was at a different level. Akthar was not even in the same league. I only remember Indian batsmen smashing him around to a point where they were scared to play him against India in 2011 WC SF.

Love from India :)
The gunmaster g9 and kkr ref ... pure gold !!
That part about 99 and endless possibility - poetry and best delivered - that itself was the defining "delivery" .. amazingly done AN!
Yaar best two cricket journos talking together, fabulous!
This is just gold 🪙 right there. Brilliant podcast.
Very good episode, hope we see it more often. I am a 90s kid, i loved 90s cricket but i would love if your topics cover more recent cricket.
one of my fav spells , in this match his speed was unplayable
what a good podcast, wish we had a similar candid one from Indian experts and fans.
Amazing ... Lovely Podcast ... loving this series... Good Work Ahmer and Osman

You gotta Shoaib’s spell against Australia in Colombo, ripping through the likes of Waugh brothers, Ponting and Gilchrist
Nicole Kidman is Australian. And cricket is popular there.. So very much possible
great portrait behind Ahmer, where can i find it?
It’s a qawwali mock up
made by the artist @digink
his bowling was amazing in whole test
Kamal analysis!
Excellent podcast 👌 if you guys can have a podcast on 90s team's match fixing saga that would be great
Umar akmal ka teesra comeback !!😂😂
Great collab

Yaar you guys missed out on the expletives following the wicket. I believe waseem bhai was the loudest. Even he was shocked at what was unravelling.
i dont think sachins ball was full toss i dipped when it reached his bat. definately an in swing yorker for me
98 (75) in centurion 2003, Shoaib Akhtar smacked across the ground.
Rajat Kapoor indian actor lookalike here with that longish beard

Lol not for us bro. This spell is what we will remember for Sachin v Shoaib for all times to come

2 batsman ko pehli ball pe? Aik ball pe 2 batsmen?
English mei both batters out on the first ball they faced
Only crazy guys like you can talk for an hour to discuss just two wickets. Only crazy guys like me can wish to hear more.
That is a magnificent beard and deserves much stroking.
Just don't say that Pace is pace is murda yar
Sachin was God in India at the very moment
PIPY
Salman khan only good movie is tere nam. Shoaib has 2 deliveries in just one test
