- www.autobytel.c... With so many choices in the small crossover SUV segment, Ford is pinning its hopes on the Escape. The 2016 model is available in 3 trims: S, SE, and Titanium. Prices range from $23,450 to $31,485. The S model is equipped with a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine while the upper trims get a 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine. There is an optional 2.0 liter EcoBoost for $1195 which was equipped for this review. The 2.0 liter is turbocharged and produces 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque. All models use a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The interior of the Titanium model is well finished with soft leather and nice aluminum inserts. The front buckets are power adjustable with 5-level seat heating. The new SYNC 3 software was designed to be faster and more intuitive.
The 2016 Ford Escape excels in the areas of ride, handling, and performance. It remains a solid choice that is a pleasure to drive.

I have to write... I work for Avis. I've driven every vehicle you can imagine from a Kia Rio to a Benz. The one vehicle that is all around best imho, is the Ford Escape. The 2.0 is quick, the ride is just firm enough - but not harsh, the transmission is so smooth - you'll never feel it shift - if you drive like a normal person. Steering is quick and responsive. Gages very well laid out - fit and finish A+. My favorite is the Titanium Edition. The HUGE sunroof is just awesome - drive 70 mph with it open and carry on a normal convo, the foot activated liftgate is a blessing with full hands, cargo space is great with the back seats down - it fits my mountain bike no issue. Visibility while driving? A+. The Sony amp sound system is SOO good, climate control has so many different settings to suit anyone... and hey - that remote start? It allows you to keep your heated seats on so they are nice and toasty for your buns! And here's the best part... reliability. Of all the cars we rent - the Escape NEVER has ANY issues! Soo... Thanks Ford... I bought one! 1986: "Quality is Job 1." I can see you still live up to that motto! =)
What is your opinion on Toyota rav4?
Rav4 hybrid that is.
So the way it looks, this is my next vehicle and my 1st purchase. I wanted a truck but things change. No lie tho, this is a very nice SUV.
American engineering has made a comeback! This is a nice car.
It's a nice car alright but can it really beat the CR-V though
+xHorizontal.Gamingx Studios It can't unfortunately because American cars really don't have a reputation for longevity, however overall American car manufacturers have made massive improvements in the industry and are closing the gap between American, German and Japanese engineering. All that being said, I work for Enterprise car rental and we have the Ford Escape Titanium. It is a fantastic driving experience for the price.
You cant see your text messaging because of a setting in the iphone. Open up your bluetooth device on your phone. next click on the snyc settings button. Then click Show notifications. restart the car and then you will be good to go.
Thank you!!!
In the length of time it takes that Active Park Assist to finish, I'd already be in the house. Which is why I bypassed that option on my MKZ. Too many "Driver's Aids" on these cars make us too dependent on them and forget how to do it ourselves.
Apparently, the 2015 Ford Escape had the fewest problems related to initial quality in the JD Power survey of crossovers.
runforit420 JD power is a scam
@@LplusRatioplusNobodyCares Yeah it is, but I've had a ford escape 2015 model I've only had 1 problem in the last 6 years and it was the transmission (it's a manual cvt if that helps) but other then that the car has been absolutely excellent. Great fuel mileage and great reliability the seats are comfortable and so many features for less than a 30 thousand dollar car! Would totally recommend.
Man, I miss those Jersey back roads!
A proper review....thanks Dan.
My neighbor just bought the same vehicle and after 3000 miles loves it
+E Meyer I'm at 76K, and it's still running great. '13 FE SE, AWD w Ecoboost
Neighbor now over 10K and no problems.I tried one on for size in 13' but it was a little too small for me.
I'm looking at one of these right now. Same colour and trim. Km's seem a little high for the year at just shy of 97k. But, at $18,000 (minus taxes and fees), it is very appealing. My '07 Edge is just not cutting it anymore. And what the newer Escapes bring to the table will suit me just fine.
Hey Dan, I'd pick your S2000 over the Escape any day. Anyways, great review as always!
Sync 3 seems to have addressed the biggest issue with the otherwise great package. Deserving of a second look.
I received this exact model in white and I love it
How are you still enjoying it? I'm actually looking at one at Carmax that's white!!
Is it quiet on the freeway? Road noise at a minimum? As quiet as a Hyundai Tucson? I want to give up my earplugs.
Sync 3 is miles ahead of MFT, but one thing's for sure, it's just as hard to use. Ford still sticks some of their infotainment displays deep in the dash, which means you have to torture your wrist to get to where you want.
Is this the dude from MPG-omatic? Can't tell without the hat!! Is that still around? I used to love those reviews, focused on things no one else really cared to.
+FasterThanSoup Yes it is, you can still see Dan on his MPG O'Matic RUclips Channel. Thanks for watching
I bought 2. Good car.
My father has a business fleet of them. 11 Escape's I believe he has. They're great cars!
This is my dream car!
Jenbug0421 Good choice, they're great cars! =)
5:43.......you hear that boys? She'll take at least 5 fingers in the back seat but if you ease her all the way back you can fit over 7.............Now THAT'S my kinda girl.🤣🤣🤣
active e parking is amazing
Do the rear passenger shock mounts rust off the body in this model too?

@@Deodoto no he's lying
I am simply not a fan of this reviewer. He should have stayed with Mpgomatic, or whatever their name was.
