My hot take: I feel like I never see people say that the first month of parenthood is fun, I only ever hear it talked about as incredibly difficult and exhausting. I suspect that you guys having such a beautiful, supportive and utterly EQUAL partnership is the key difference that frankly a lot of straight couples don't seem to have. You guys are so strong that you're able to have FUN together during this, rather than Rosie feeling like she's doing more work, etc. etc. that I see a lot of women talking about with their husbands. It's just so cool to see.
This comment is it. I have a 6 year old child and the newborn phase was so horrible and traumatizing for me for a couple reasons. Now that I'm watching this, it is clear to me why it was so awful for me. I was in the US at the time and my husband was working up until I was almost pushing in labor and almost missed the birth of our child. The day I left the hospital was the day he had to be back at work. I was doing everything myself and also had post partum depression. I was eventually hospitalized for my mental health and my husband's job gave him a pay cut and took his job title away as a result of him taking a week off to take care of OUR child. As a result, he had to work more hours than usual to KEEP his job that punished him for me having a mental health crisis and a baby. I see Rose and Rosie and Jess and Claudia home together, enjoying the process, and I literally break down sobbing every time because I never had that type of joy and support. I'm so happy to see that this is only a US problem it seems but it still breaks my heart because I know I'm not alone in this feeling about the first year of parenthood. So happy to see all this joy and love during this stage. These babies are getting so much good love and I love to see it!
I don't think that sexuality has anything at all to do with it lol. Plenty of straight couples have just as supportive and equal relationships. The reason you may feel like you rarely see positivity is because people who are happy don't come online to complain about it. They just get on with living their happy lives, present in their happy moments, being happy.

I think you are projecting something onto us here because I don't believe the OP was complaining and I definitely wasn't blaming my husband.

So happy for you. I suffered a miscarriage around the same time as Rose. Nobody knew about it. I felt for Rose and the both of you so much. It gives me so much joy to see this. I can’t believe the journey we’ve been on all these years! You guys are just naturals, Ziggy is such a lucky boy. So glad you’re enjoying it, soon he’ll be old enough to roll his eyes at Rose’s jokes like all kids do 🤣 xx
