Just mesmerizing, I find it so beautiful and I immediately want it.
To possess it like Golem's ring MS70PL).
Am I mad?
Still an awesome piece of art and history.
Junius !! Your camera brought out the absolute best of the most beautiful coin ever struck by man. It is beyond stunning ! :-))
Thanks!
Wow, absolutely spectacular Maltby... absolutely spectacular. I don't have one today, but I will one day.
thanks!
The color is vastly different from the standard pre-1933 St. Gaudens double eagle, which was 90% gold, 10% copper. Even the original 1907 ultra high relief was 10% copper. In production, each 1907 ultra high relief was struck many times to deepen the relief and it was dipped in nitric acid between strikes to raise the gold to copper ratio near the coin's surface. The result was a coin that looked like pure gold when finished.
That is a stunning piece for sure! I can't imagine any collector not wanting one.
It is THE coin.
I think I want one. I will likely make that happen soon.
I have one of these as well. Local coin shop had one a few years back that I picked up. It's in the plastic capsule but no mahogany box, COA etc. Hands down my favorite gold coin in my collection. Very beautiful
nice stuff man.........well done........this coin is gorgeous....it throws me back to a bygone era.........its beautiful
I think it was your original video on this coin that inspired me to find one for myself. Thanks for the redux.
She's beyond BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing your AU ! ✨🙏✨
An artistic masterclass- - a high watermark in Gold coins.
Awesome! One of my favs too. I saw the unveiling in 2008 with Ed Moy. Will do a video on it when I can find all my pics from the ANA show. Yours is almost a proof like example. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
SalivateMetal if it came back 70PL it's selling power doubles.
Beautiful! Totally agree. Will have to look at how much these are. Wish I had started collecting back then.
***** I found it on Apmex. Includes mahogany box, COA going for just under $2000. Not easy to find this coin available for sale.
***** Ebay is tricky. Sometimes you can get a much better deal if you can bid on an item and there aren't too many bidders. I bought the Egyptian King Tut 5oz coin awhile ago for $100 including shipping. Lower than any bullion dealer price.
Wow Amazing, I just ordered one for 1650 and looking forward to seeing what it looks like in my hand. I definately will not be selling it. Yeah this video got me to pull the trigger.
The price of this beauty only goes up. Today in 2018 with Low gold prices, it still commands a hefty premium....
Funny thing. 2009 is the year I went to Afghanistan. It is also the year I found out something was wrong and I woke up.
Awesome! Welcome to the channel. I have not seen your comment before. Glad to have you here.
My dream coin!
The coin, the box and the book are all fantastic! Love it raw in the OGP! To slab that would be a crime😂
Such a great and timeless piece!
The magical coin. But because it's much thicker than the regular St. Gaudens, it is also smaller. I hope that's not an issue...love the size of the St. Gaudens.
the finish on the mahogany is top notch, realize the torch and peace will follow.Beautiful piece of knowledge set in gold.
Truly a iconic addition to any collection.
Definitely a must have for die hard collectors. This is masters of all gold coins 😂
Beautiful coin, thanks for sharing. But I am really wanting the multitude of furtitude silver round I just saw. :)
Thanks for the video. Just bought mine today from my local coin fair.
Very nice. thanks for sharing.
Best. Coin. Ever.
I agree with you the grading of these makes no sense I bought several none ever touched or removed from capsule right from mint all graded ms 70 but one I sent it back had it conserved at my expense came back today ms 70 I will likely never spend grading cost again. They charge too much and coins directly from mint never touched all should be 70s
I saw a few on Ebay between $2,099 and $11,000 in MS69 and MS70. I think I would rather get a 1925 MS60 for $1,400.
Wow that is a beautiful coin! I own a one ounce double eagle gold coin, but I would live to own a pre-1933 gold coin.
Amazing coin. Love, Love, Love it. What a beauty to have in your collection. Congrats.
Gorgeous Coin
I own one now. The center peices of my collection. I take it out and look at it often. It is a PF70.
Is it for sale, if not its fine
@@vicentaescobido9279 everything is for sell. It just depends on the price.
How much would you like, im Pilipino actually, can i have it for like PHP180
@@vicentaescobido9279 i don't know what that means in Dollars.
I paid $5900.00 for it.
I ENVY YOU! That's a beautiful coin! Wish I could afford one; if I could find it...
the coin is on my bucket list I'm 35 and I really really want that coin it's beautiful in every way I have the Mercury dime Centennial it's in its own box and like you it's not going out of my sight because I don't believe in him grading places either who knows if he even get the same coin back. but back to that Saint Gaudens high relief with the writing on the side and the one they only did with the Roman numerals the ones you can buy now just have a date they look cheap still nice but cheap looking you want the real one like that and yeah I'm letting people I get discouraged if I was rich I'd be even richer cuz I'd have all the best and oldest coins. I love history but thank you for showing and cheers my friend.
Beautiful coin m8.
What a beautiful coin
Hello good guy, I have one of these and it’s an absolute work of art, simply eye candy. Unfortunately I decided to take it out of the capsule and broke the capsule 😢 Do you know who or where I can get a capsule for my 2009 UHR? I would definitely make it worth your while if you can help!
Check eBay. Also JM Bullion or SD Bullion may have something to help.
Nice gold coin!
I got a collection of these when they first came out. The strikes on the Lady are different on the first batch which some are supposed to be more valuable. Never had them graded.
i love it
You're in my newest video!! 👍🏼
I love this coin. I got the graded version ms69. Stayed away from the ms70 as I didn't like the price.
I got to meet the man who made that coin. Edmund moye
I would like to shake his hand for sure.
Beautiful coins
I love my 2016 gold Merc Dime!
Beautiful coin.
I want one
If the coin was 3 inches in diameter that would be something.
Look at the 1907 high Relief no motto.
I broke mine out the other day just to look it over. I wish I kept a few more.
lol
Awesome Looking Saint Gaudens 2009 High Relief !
Where CAN We Get One LIKE THIS 😉 ? *Apmex?
Looks Beautiful and Informative Content Video!
*Reluctant Slabber
can you tell me what is a good price for one? I see one on Ebay for $1995.00, should I jump on it?
Gorgeous coin. On APMEX there are a few of these right now. One of them, a PCGS MS70 PL First Strike, is selling for almost $6500. It is classified as a 'Rare pick'. Do you think it is worth paying that much, or would it be better to buy the non graded one for half the price?
I would try to find one in the OGP. Don't grade it. Why grade something that is already practically perfect from the mint?
Please weigh it in the capsule. How heavy is it with original plastic
Just ordered one before priced out forever. Going to be the only collectible gold I'll ever own. Agreed that this is the best coin to own from the US Mint as far as I've ever seen. So classic with the design from the gaudens to the eagle and perfect in the execution from all angles that I can see including the fineness of the gold, the alloys are ugly to me. Had no idea this existed before today. Done collecting.
Really? That is awesome. I am excited for you and at the same time confused. Please do not be insulted if I ask, but is this really the first time you have seen or heard of this coin? Tell me all about how you got one and where. Thank you for letting me know! I am glad you found out about it here!
It is the first time I've seen it, but I have looked at quite a of old double eagles considering getting one. Would rather have this so I pulled the trigger with what I had reserved for that.
Ordered from APMEX. I know they are a bit premium priced, but the convenience and confidence is worth it in this case in my view.
I don't care about getting an uber grade, thankfully I don't know the difference and don't care to.
Additionally, I know what's good when I see it and have done some art collecting and am not afraid to jump on something like that.
They had the box with COA BU and the book separate but available as well. It really is a work of art.
I know that it may sound unbelievable. I've only been a precious metals investor since 2015 and have avoided numismatics on purpose. This is just for the enjoyment of art.
It's obvious how good this coin is without even knowing the history, but when you add that it's a slam dunk.
The original 1907 ultra high relief has sold for as much as 3 million. I'm just thankful this is still available for little over 2 grand as brilliant uncirculated.
There is no way that this coin doesn't appreciate well over time, but like you I am keeping it for the pure enjoyment and consider it an art piece along with my modest painting collection from mostly unknown folk artists, which were never intended for resale either.
Thank you for this video. I hope my children and grandchildren (God willing) can keep this as a family heirloom never to be sold except in the most dire of circumstances in which case they would have my blessing.

Do you store the coin inside the box or keep it separate? The box takes up so much space in my safe.
The diameter appears smaller than a 1909 Saint Gaudens ? Optical Illusion Of Are They THE Same Size?
There will never be another modern US gold coin or medal as great as the 2009 UHR. All other attempts to create a similar coin have failed.
The only coin that beats this one is the original 1907 $20 high relief. However they typically cost over $10K.
The thinking behind selling the packaging: it has been certified by pcgs or ngc so the COA and box are not needed. I disagree. I keep the white mint box it was shipped in as well as the rest
I dont know why people are so afraid to touch their gold/silver/platinum/palladium. It wont hurt anything. Wash your hand and feel free too touch it. You paid for it. Just be careful not to scratch it. I love to feel the metal on my skin. You dont need stupid gloves and shit. Makes me sick. I'd have my fingers all over that shit
Is there a number that comes with the paper work ? Out of all that was minted do you know what number yours is?
I do not believe there is a number. I ordered mine day one - hour one.
Great coin maybe best ever in usa
Thank you; after watching your video many times; I decided to order one next week.
what was the issue price ?
I will have that coin! I swear it.
It's a nice design. Not something I'm interested in buying though.
Just a great coin likely the best usa ever made
its a truly beautiful coin but why is it called a double eagle?
The term eagle goes back to the original US coinage act of 1792. An "eagle" was a term for an amount of currency and a weight of gold. An eagle was worth $10 (Ten Dollars). A double eagle was $20 (twenty) and both carried a specified weight of grains of fine gold.
great question by the way.
Can I have it?
THIS IS A NUMISMATIC COIN, DON'T BUY NUMIS
Every once in a while it is ok to treat oneself.
