Hi Tony, thank you, very simple and easy to put in place. Quick question, is there any way to log/track/get notified/whatever solution for login attemps/failures ? just to try to detect who could be trying to bruteforce or to login?
Thanks! Works perfect for my wp-admin. This helped me a lot!
You're welcome!
thank u sir
Hey Tony ! Tanks for all videos. It's working with http but not with https. With https, not authentication window. Can you help me plz ? :)
Fantastic! Thank you so much :D
How to do it on Cyberpanel?
Hi, Tony, I have changed the Login Page URL using a Plugin, should I also use this to protect the page or changing URL, which one is a better option in terms of performance.
For maximum security, I would suggest doing both if that's possible. But if I had only one choice, I would use basic auth
Can this method be combined with fail2ban? i.e. If someone enters the wrong password more than 3 times they get banned by fail2ban?
If keeps asking to enter username and password check permission of vhost or $VH_NAME folders and set to 750
Lifesaver. Thank you for this - it's super hard to track down.
How to exclude a specific file or folder from this Basic Auth rule?
Hi, Did you find a solution?
Hi Tony, I did everything you explained but it says my username and password information are wrong, I created and tried again and again but the problem persists, what can I do?
I don't know why that would be happening
@@TonyTeachesTech Solved Tony, the problem about file permissions. Thank you.
Chmod 755 /usr/local/lsws/conf/
iam getting error 404 when creating saving realms ?? what is reason of that ?

This does not work. It just keeps asking to enter username and password
Please make sure you are providing the correct password
