Lots of cool things in Tokyo. Every area has it's own uniqueness. Can't wait to visit Jpan again.
Kappabashi is a heaven if you like cooking.
You will buy the unique kitchen wares by which you cook and arrange foods.
At Kappabashi I like the food samples that are made in wax and almost real.
I can't wait for Japan to open for tourist. This is my type of shopping!! This is definitely on my list. (My husband just doesn't know it yet. 😀) I completely understand spending hours here.
Ruth appearing as the lead reporter works really well. She comes across very well.
Even those of us who don't normally cook can have fun in this place!
Before the Corona Disaster, the ’Kappa Bashi’ was crowded with foreign tourists.
I hope it will soon return to its former lively atmosphere.
There was a foreigner who fell in love with Japanese knives and worked in a knife store.
OMG! 😮 Another place to add to my list of places to visit when we travel to Japan! 😃 The list just gets longer!
I, like Ruth, love anything kitchen or cooking related! This shopping area is heavenly!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many kitchen stores in one area. How fun!
Even I had fun - what a unique place!
Oh my...what a fun street. I (like Ruth) LOVE kitchen items! So glad you both were able to visit & that Ruth found some wonderful items that she loves. 🥰
Wow. That looks like a great little area to shop! I love how excited Ruth gets about the kitchen stuff too. 😊
FIRST TIME hearing about this place 😮 my Tokyo area list of places i want to visit is too long because of this channel 😂
Lots of cool places in Tokyo, for sure.
That little scoop can be used for SO many things! Tiny meatballs for fondue or hotpot, to make fudge balls, melon balls, just so many things. I loved seeing all the stores.
Love you Life In Japan family!
You will adore going to the flea markets and second-hand shops in Tokyo, there's one held at Yoyogi park every week or so. But I've heard of many more around Tokyo.
That does sound cool.
So it's like an Akihabara for kitchenware 😁 Very interesting to watch, thanks a lot as usual!
It’s as if I was there with you … I enjoyed it a lot …. I could spend there all day long . 🍏🌺🍏🌺🍏thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Wait until you discover high end Japanese knives. I've spent over $1000 on them, but they're my favourite things in my kitchen (along with my Japanese Zojirushi rice cooker).
You two were like kids in a candy store! I don’t NEED it but I WANT it! 😉😌 I can spend hours in a kitchen store!
I was there a few years ago and one of the stuff I picked up was a box of toothpicks with hinomaru flags on them (used on "okosama lunch" mound of rice). I used them on national holidays (hata-bi (flag-days) ) for a few years before the kids grew put of something like that but they used to love having a flag on their fried rice or omu-rice or whatever we were having that night.
OMG! That’s what was down that street?! We passed by it heading for Tokyo Sky Tree and Asakusa/Sensoji Temple. We just assumed the man with a big chef hat was some sort of restaurant and the coffee cups was a coffee house! I wish we had done our research and explored that street more now.
I finally found this video. 😅 I have been trying to remember the name of this place with no luck in Google maps. Thanks!
I went there on my trip to Japan and I loooooved it. So cool!
Anywhere else you went that was fun and we haven't been yet?
Lovely Ruth🌹🤞 Enjoy life in Japan!!💖👍
I like how areas specialise in a particular product, it makes for easy shopping. Interestingly just over from Kappabashi is the area that specialises in funerals and family shrines.
Thanks so much for this video, this has been on my must visit lust for ages and Ruth just proved why 😁
Should check out the kids play area in Tokyo. I know there is quite a bit for 0-3 not sure for 6+ up. Quite a bit of hidden gems in Japan to check out.
I love all of your videos. Really sweet outing. Fun to come along and see what they were selling.
I was there last week and bought two Japanese knives at Tsubaya!
My kind of place to! Looks like it was a lot of fun!
昔、日本の英語の教科書の最初の例文が、"This is a pen."
"Can eat this?"
"No!!
This is a pan!!"
:)
❤Your channel is literally my comfort place. You make me so happy. Love you❤
Wow, thank you!
Wow! It's so nice to see Ruth having a great time shopping. I'm a new subscriber just catching up and enjoying your videos. I have to remember this area of Tokyo so the next time I'm there I'll have to spend a day shopping there.
It's a fun area for sure.
I am with Ruth, I could spend hours there.
Musashi-Kyuryo National Government Park looks like an awesome place to go if y'all haven't been there already. They have some beautiful flowers and a bouncing area for kids.
Thank you for your videos!
Thank you for the suggestion!
Awww another lovely video. I love how excited Ruth gets in these stores about things. :D
Not sure if you might have visited Textile Town before. Can’t wait to get back!
I noticed in one of the Christmas videos the girls were doing a sewing project, have you and Ruth ever taken them up to Nippori Fabric Town? If they like sewing or making things with fabric it is a must. My favorite stores are Mihama for smaller pieces of fabric and the main Tomato store for the sheer variety of fabrics, tools, and accessories they have. There are also some inexpensive clothing stores that I used to stop at to pick up souvenirs for my nieces and nephews. Because of this pandemic I haven't been able to get back and I'd love to see how the area has fared.
Fun suggestion!
Now that’s a one stop shop! 👀 🛍
Oh wow 😮 I’d be like a kid in a candy store, in an area like this 😊
It can be dangerous!! Ha ha
Friday is my favorite day because it's the time when you guys upload cool videos
That's right! Thanks!
It would be interesting as an episode to see what customs you’ve picked up and couldn’t imagine living without, and Japanese customs that your kids do but you don’t, and things that you do which are American still and Japanese customs that you can’t get behind, that kind of thing! (Like Nate said in the home improvement episode he couldn’t live without the Japanese toilets!)
We just did a video about that (more or less) - did you see it? ruclips.net/video/HNEVBFTbZAg/видео.html
I have my list already!! Also, I guess no more packages with cookie cutters!!!
Today is March 17. I just now saw a headline saying Japan had an earthquake yesterday . I hope you and all the Paz Church family are ok.
Thank you- we are all safe! We appreciate your love and prayers.
ルースさん can live there for a week, maybe. haha
That’s near in Asakusa??
I love keeping up with your videos. Such a beautiful family and great adventures! I'm in the process of buying an old farmhouse in Yamaguchi to renovate in Japan (I'm Australian) so I like getting so much information about different topics in Japan from you! I am wondering about the Japanese schooling system. Do you think 9 years old would be too hard for my daughter to join into a public Japanese school with no language skills?
I think it would be more difficult than when our kids started at 4, but I know people who started later and picked up Japanese super fast. Our local city hall offered help in the school for our kids to understand their homework etc. I’m sure every city offers something similar. And that would definitely help. We also have the older girls in a juku program (extra help in Japanese and math) once a week. So, I think if you and her are willing to work hard, it is totally doable!!!
@@ruthreutter8355 Thank you :) Very helpful!!
