Hey Aaron, just wanted to thank you for these beginner level tutorials. I’m teaching myself the trumpet and these are really valuable resources. Thank you for making great content accessible to people of all skill levels!
Thanks so much, this video helped me so much I love all of your videos and they help me sooooo much cause my middle school band teacher is hard to understand.
Aaron... Just getting back into it after brief 40 year hiatus! Wow... your tutorials are so great! Excited for my daily visits... you're a fantastic teacher!!
Hi Aaron, I was incredibly behind on practicing for my auditions and started watching your videos this morning. My audition for symphonic band is tomorrow. I watched all of the scale videos and I want to say thank you for teaching me how to play them. I will update you if it goes well. I am very glad I stumbled upon your channel.
Thank you so much for creating this content while black ♥️..I just picked up my Trumpet after 10years during the pandemic and I definitely needed something to put my energy into.
Your channel is so important to me to help me , I am not learning how to play trumpet ... But I am writing sometimes for orchestra , I am doing that by using the software : musescore .. I haven't got the realistic sound but It's ok for me for the time being . I am joining to you to learn more about this awesome instrument . Thank you .
Nothing else , just I am watching to your videos , paying attention to you explanation , listening carefully to the real sound of trumpet and knowing and feeling more the nature of sound and how it is ... All of this help me ... Thank you , my Friend ... Listen to my composition : New Heaven New Land ... Thank you . Samir
Can you do a video on the G Major Chromatic Scale, going from Low G to High G please. I have an audition in December and I just need the Chromatic to this scale.
First off: Great video. Please help me understand. I've played the trumpet in Junior high and high-school. But I'm wondering about fingering chart for the G major. I've looked at other literature and the 1st note "G" is OPEN instead of 1 and 3 in your video. The fingering for notes D and E also seem to be different than what you described above. What is the reasoning behind it? What am I missing? G Major G: Open / A: 12 / B: 2 / C: Open / D: 1 / E: Open / F#: 2 / G: Open
There are multiple octaves on the trumpet. You’ll find that notes have different fingerings in the low register than the middle and high registers. The fingering you presented is correct as well. It’s used for the octave above what I show in the video. I chose the lower octave because it’s more accessible to beginners. Most beginners struggle with playing the G above the staff. I’ve been getting requests to make scale videos for the 2nd octave though. I might do it, if I get enough requests for it.
Thank you sir, i am using 7c mouthpiece, when playing E, F facing difficult to play, My lips are too thickness. Please tell me which size mouthpiece i want to use.
ThatOneLittleRascal usually the octave above use the same fingerings besides a a couple of notes. If I get enough requests for a 2nd octave then I’ll do it 🙂
Sheev Palpatine I’m doing alright man! Check out this video I made. It might clarify what is needed to play higher notes. Let me know if it helps ruclips.net/video/h0qmKaB7F30/видео.html
Thanks ill check it out and also I recently started playing on a cornet and found that i can play alot easier on it than trumpet. I don't know if its the mouthpiece size or what. Do you think i should get a smaller size mouthpiece for my trumpet aswell?
Sheev Palpatine try out a few mouthpieces. Choose the one that gives you the best sound you want and one that feels good on your embouchure. This is my only advice for choosing equipment. Unfortunately I’m not the right person to ask about trumpet gear. Maybe I will be soon.
I've been playing for 4 years but was never taught my scale octaves now my teacher is asking for me to play the octaves for me each time I play for him but every time I can't play it because I just don't know the octaves and the fingerings please help
