I'm so tired of the political BS in movies. I don't have a problem with a minority being the focus or saving the day, but I do have a problem when it's done to push a political agenda. With all the politics surrounding the border and the anti-Trump movement calling themselves the Resistance, the parallels are obvious. As far as special effects go, imagine how good they would be now if they combined modern improvements in CGI with practical effects like they did back then instead of relying too heavily on it to the point of the film looking like a video game.

She just ran, had sex, ran again and pulled down a washing machine handle. In T2, she was smash-cut into a completely new character and was essentially the same person she was when that movie started.

Last great alien film was Aliens, last good Star Wars movie was Return of the Jedi, Robocop 2 was the last worthy robocop movie, Predator 2 was the last worthy Predator movie, etc.
Alien 3 on it’s own is a mediocre movie at best which is completely fine with me but the fact that it immediately killed off Newt and Hicks was a massive turn off, however I will acknowledge it’s existence unlike the abomination that was Resurrection.
Rogue Fox I think it was the point to destroy the family dynamic of the end of aliens family and show how fate and universe are as indifferent as the xenomorph creature. But I understand how many people didn’t like that aspect of the plot.

Terminator 2 is my favorite.....Robert Patrick as T-1000 was relentless and the action scenes were spot on. I agree the CGI from the 90's is much better than the CGI in today's cinema.
As far as I'm concerned I consider T3 the third movie. At least it was consistent with the story line and Arnold was basically a Terminator still! I wish Furlong and Hamilton would have been in Rise of the Machines though. That would have made it better and I'd have been a bit happier!
Well originally according to off the shelf reviews They wanted Edward furlong to play John Connor in terminator 3 But they couldn't cast him because they thought he was on drugs or something so that's why they cast Nick Stahl
@@BRIANOCONNOR2003 Of The Shelf Movie Night? Yeah I watched interviews with Furlong from the last couple years and he said he couldn’t do it because he wasn’t sober or clean from drugs. It sucks! Linda Hamilton apparently rejected it because her character got killed off but they still went with that idea and she lost out on a part in the movie.
They killed John Conner. Woke or not, that's unforgivable. Especially how they did it in this movie. Wasn't enough to make him a villain in Genysis, now they went so low as to not only desecrate the value of his character through such a cruel way, they even tarnished the first two films. Made them pointless.

I loved the chemistry Arnold and Edward had in T2. I would’ve loved to have seen that chemistry again but with John Connor as an adult. I know Linda Hamilton thought it was a good idea to help her character grow, but I disagree with the whole concept. I wanted to see the main trio back in action.

My version of the film: Following the events of t2, it is a revealed that a second terminator was sent to kill John but was accidentally sent to another country. Finally tracking down John, the terminator murders him. Sarah watches in horror as it happens. The terminators mission is now complete. He walks off and realizes that he will never return to its future world because skynet was erased. There’s no war. The terminator decides to adapt to human living and takes up the name of Carl. Carl marries and adopts children. Becoming a father, Carl keeps his secret hidden to his family. That he is a terminator. Elsewhere, Sarah has grown older and tired. Planning her vengeance on Carl, she knows where he is and is ready. Carl’s son Adam whom is now grown, discovers his fathers secret and does tests on him, hoping to create future tech from him. Sarah races to Carl for one final fight, looking the killer in the eye but discovers that Carl became exactly what John wanted. He wanted the terminator to adapt to human emotions. Sarah puts her gun down. Adam does not stand down however, and blows Carl’s left arm off. Weeks go by and at the lab, Adam creates weapons powerful enough to give him super strength. Carl and Sarah must work together to bring him down. Carl struggles to bring Adam home. Before Adam can corporate, his tech becomes self aware, killing him and launching nukes into the sky. A new judgement day has begun. Carl and Sarah make up, honoring John Connor. Years later, a massive civil war breaks out between humans when they find out that Carl is a robot. Believing him to have caused judgement day, a group of soldiers begin world war 3. Carl and Sarah lead a resistance movement to destroy the group. Then the movie ends.
The problem with T2 was that it was too perfect. It was so perfect that no sequel could replicate its perfection. Maybe that's why it has an alternate ending with old Sarah and John Connor where everything is fine in the future. We can still take that scene as the real ending of the franchise in case of those shitty sequels.
I read an article saying that critics who complain about Terminator Dark Fate are wrong because of “Franchise Fatigue” Also things like “it’s an improvement over the sequels”, “does justice to the franchise and feels like it’s more than fan-fiction”, “Critics could see past the franchise’s mistakes”
Great rant Matt! This movie is just what i expected it to be, and it's not good to say the least. We didn't need another Terminator film, but what really sucks is when i can see how this is another one of those films which could have been changed and be at least little better, and it doesn't includes killing off John Connor and adding some Mexican girl as new savior of humanity. This SJW-Woke Hollywood bullshit just keep ruining movies more and more, i wish someone would sent Terminators to wipe them fuckers out. And speaking of Dani Ramos (the Mexican girl), what i don't understand is that (and it is confirmed) even the test audience didn't liked her character but they kept all of her scenes in the film. I can agree that at least the movie is better than Genyshits, but that doesn't mean much now does it. And what pisses me off is how nobody calls this film racist or xenophobic just because it takes place in Mexico and deals with border, unlike what happened to Rambo: Last Blood. To say at least one positive thing about the film, just like how more people changed their opinions about Predator 2 after The Predator came out, i hope the same thing will happen to Terminator Salvation now and that more fans will give it another chance. You might disagree, but despite some problems it has, i think it's still a solid film and honestly only good Terminator film after T2.
Jack Craven I’m glad not the only one because I love terminator salvation. Hey Jack this was my idea for another terminator film and I want to know what you think of my idea? Ok so my terminator film would take place after salvation and it’s pretty simple. My terminator film would be a war film like saving private Ryan. Just a simple and very violent war film against the machines with John Connor fulfilling his destiny by leading the human resistance and defeating skynet once and for all. My final scene of movie would be John Connor and all the survivors rebuilding the homes and the cites and basically rebuilding the world of what skynet destroyed. The final scene would be while John and everyone rebuilding the camera would pan out to the sky looking down at the them while the classic terminator theme is playing and end of movie. That’s it it’s that simple. The final film should of always been the future war with John Connor defeating skynet and saving the world. But no it’s apparently that difficult to make that kind of terminator movie. If you had to continue after T3, then that’s the best way to end this franchise IMO. what the What do you think?
Matt, it's funny you say sometimes in your videos that James Cameron lies about his opinions on movies all by saying first he likes it and then later on he says it sucks, cause you know what other ways James Cameron seem to have been lying about not his opinions on movies but on movies he has worked on? in January 2017 when it was announced that James Cameron was returning to the Terminator franchise to produce Terminator: Dark Fate, first he said he was gonna make Terminator: Dark Fate the last Terminator movie and then in July 2017 he said he was gonna make a new trilogy of Terminator movies and in one interview where he was talking about making Avatar 2 he said he was gonna have the Avatar sequels take place on other planets aside from Pandora and then in The Hollywood Reporter interview from September 2017 he did with Tim Miller he said he was gonna have the Avatar sequels take place just on Pandora.
I finally gave it a look - cheap second hand blue ray - I didn’t hate it but it’s very forgettable. Though it presents itself as being something different it’s really just a sort of lukewarm rehash of the same old formula ie. it plays it ultra safe,it’s fairly serviceable and very average and very pointless.T3 is a MUCH better film.
The Terminator franchise desperately needs to end alongside classic slasher films and other Sci-Fi franchises like Alien and Predator. If you're gonna do new movies. Do them new or differently. That or reboot them. Take a page from the Child's Play film this year.

Funny how James Cameron said this is a direct sequel to T2 Judgment Day however it seems as if he meant a direct remake and mixing of Terminator 1 and Terminator 2
Killing John Connor.. They took that straight from T3, the scene where The T800 is telling John and Katherine Brewster that he assassinated John at some point. They ripped it off from that, just without telling an actual story like the first 2 movies did.
I don't care for how much T2 is overblown in people's minds. Predator is the best Arnold movie and he was a dumbass to choose Terminator sequels over Predator sequels. The Terminator (1984) is a great self-contained movie that didn't need any sequels, least of all having Arnold in all of them. Nobody remembers Kyle Reese saying that the T-800s were difficult to identify because they looked like regular people to infiltrate. It doesn't stand to reason that they should all look like Arnold. T2's "no fate but what you make" catchphrase doesn't hold up either, no matter how much AVGN thinks that movie is perfect. The first movie has the ending where John Connor's father is from the future and has the picture the kid takes of Sarah at the end and the whole thing is this "chicken and egg" paradox. In reality, the future is set and it's an infinite loop. Kyle Reese always has to be sent back from the future to conceive John.
Having watched this movie again after a long time I think killing John was because James Cameron always saw this as Linda's franchise and he thought killing John would be a good character dilemma for her to go through. When it comes to the future changes they stopped Skynet in part 2 but humans will still always eventually make some form of AI no matter what the future is. I think the twist of killing John and doing a new future is an interesting idea but rather it works is depended on how people feel about the execution. I agree they could have just left John alive but I did like how it affected Linda's character I enjoyed seeing her as an older grumpy crazier Sarah.

So, they took the 'save the important future hero' idea from T1 and T2, took the TX (liquid shell, rigid skeleton) terminator from T3, Human/cyborg hybrid idea from Salvation, and the been around for years he's learned to adapt to society T-800 from Genisys. Not an original idea in sight. Seems to be a trend the last couple of years. Hype up a direct sequel while denying the already existing sequels from existing canonically, and claim it will be better than those. Instead, they lift ideas seen in those awful sequels, slightly tweak them and just rehash what was already done to begin with. Instead, they end up just as bad as the sequels they're claiming to be better than. In the 90s we'd mock crappy little studios releasing lower budget, straight to DVD sequels of popular movies. Nowadays, it's Hollywood themselves spewing it out.

Well Salvation is a prequel to T1 and T2 and didn't hurt Terminator like T3 and T4 and Sarah Conner Chronicles. T2 was the end of the story.

As far as I'm concerned I consider T3 the third movie. At least it was consistent with the story line and Arnold was basically a Terminator still! I wish Furlong and Hamilton would have been in Rise of the Machines though. That would have made it better and I'd have been a bit happier!

Linda Hamilton apparently rejected it because her character got killed off but they still went with that idea and she lost out on a part in the movie.

They killed John Conner. Woke or not, that's unforgivable. Especially how they did it in this movie. Wasn't enough to make him a villain in Genysis, now they went so low as to not only desecrate the value of his character through such a cruel way, they even tarnished the first two films. Made them pointless.

Terminator Salvation is a prequel to The Terminator and i don't mind it in it's director's cut but to me the trilogy goes with that, T1 and T2 and that's it

Would much rather see an official proper sequel to T3 rise of the machines with Nick stahl and Clare Danes back as John Conner and Kate Brewster picking up moments after that seeing them building up the resistance and watching the future war starting up from the beginning like the cut scenes we saw in the T3 videogame that would've been a great terminator movie.
I loved the chemistry Arnold and Edward had in T2. I would’ve loved to have seen that chemistry again but with John Connor as an adult. I know Linda Hamilton thought it was a good idea to help her character grow, but I disagree with the whole concept. I wanted to see the main trio back in action.

My version of the film: Following the events of t2, it is a revealed that a second terminator was sent to kill John but was accidentally sent to another country. Finally tracking down John, the terminator murders him. Sarah watches in horror as it happens. The terminators mission is now complete. He walks off and realizes that he will never return to its future world because skynet was erased. There’s no war. The terminator decides to adapt to human living and takes up the name of Carl. Carl marries and adopts children. Becoming a father, Carl keeps his secret hidden to his family. That he is a terminator. Elsewhere, Sarah has grown older and tired. Planning her vengeance on Carl, she knows where he is and is ready. Carl’s son Adam whom is now grown, discovers his fathers secret and does tests on him, hoping to create future tech from him. Sarah races to Carl for one final fight, looking the killer in the eye but discovers that Carl became exactly what John wanted. He wanted the terminator to adapt to human emotions. Sarah puts her gun down. Adam does not stand down however, and blows Carl’s left arm off. Weeks go by and at the lab, Adam creates weapons powerful enough to give him super strength. Carl and Sarah must work together to bring him down. Carl struggles to bring Adam home. Before Adam can corporate, his tech becomes self aware, killing him and launching nukes into the sky. A new judgement day has begun. Carl and Sarah make up, honoring John Connor. Years later, a massive civil war breaks out between humans when they find out that Carl is a robot. The problem with T2 was that it was too perfect. It was so perfect that no sequel could replicate its perfection. Maybe that's why it has an alternate ending with old Sarah and John Connor where everything is fine in the future. We can still take that scene as the real ending of the franchise in case of those shitty sequels.

Great rant Matt! This movie is just what i expected it to be, and it's not good to say the least. We didn't need another Terminator film, but what really sucks is when i can see how this is another one of those films which could have been changed and be at least little better, and it doesn't includes killing off John Connor and adding some Mexican girl as new savior of humanity. This SJW-Woke Hollywood bullshit just keep ruining movies more and more, i wish someone would sent Terminators to wipe them fuckers out. And speaking of Dani Ramos (the Mexican girl), what i don't understand is that (and it is confirmed) even the test audience didn't liked her character but they kept all of her scenes in the film. I can agree that at least the movie is better than Genyshits, but that doesn't mean much now does it. And what pisses me off is how nobody calls this film racist or xenophobic just because it takes place in Mexico and deals with border, unlike what happened to Rambo: Last Blood. To say at least one positive thing about the film, just like how more people changed their opinions about Predator 2 after The Predator came out, i hope the same thing will happen to Terminator Salvation now and that more fans will give it another chance. You might disagree, but despite some problems it has, i think it's still a solid film and honestly only good Terminator film after T2.
Jack Craven I’m glad not the only one because I love terminator salvation. Hey Jack this was my idea for another terminator film and I want to know what you think of my idea? Ok so my terminator film would take place after salvation and it’s pretty simple. My terminator film would be a war film like saving private Ryan. Just a simple and very violent war film against the machines with John Connor fulfilling his destiny by leading the human resistance and defeating skynet once and for all. My final scene of movie would be John Connor and all the survivors rebuilding the homes and the cites and basically rebuilding the world of what skynet destroyed. The final scene would be while John and everyone rebuilding the camera would pan out to the sky looking down at the them while the classic terminator theme is playing and end of movie. That’s it it’s that simple. The final film should of always been the future war with John Connor defeating skynet and saving the world. But no it’s apparently that difficult to make that kind of terminator movie. If you had to continue after T3, then that’s the best way to end this franchise IMO. what the What do you think?

Matt, it's funny you say sometimes in your videos that James Cameron lies about his opinions on movies all by saying first he likes it and then later on he says it sucks, cause you know what other ways James Cameron seem to have been lying about not his opinions on movies but on movies he has worked on? in January 2017 when it was announced that James Cameron was returning to the Terminator franchise to produce Terminator: Dark Fate, first he said he was gonna make Terminator: Dark Fate the last Terminator movie and then in July 2017 he said he was gonna make a new trilogy of Terminator movies and in one interview where he was talking about making Avatar 2 he said he was gonna have the Avatar sequels take place on other planets aside from Pandora and then in The Hollywood Reporter interview from September 2017 he did with Tim Miller he said he was gonna have the Avatar sequels take place just on Pandora.
This rant nailed every frustrating moment i experienced while sitting through it.

I finally gave it a look - cheap second hand blue ray - I didn’t hate it but it’s very forgettable.
Though it presents itself as being something different it’s really just a sort of lukewarm rehash of the same old formula ie. it plays it ultra safe,it’s fairly serviceable and very average and very pointless.T3 is a MUCH better film.

Funny how James Cameron said this is a direct sequel to T2 Judgment Day however it seems as if he meant a direct remake and mixing of Terminator 1 and Terminator 2
Killing John Connor.. They took that straight from T3, the scene where The T800 is telling John and Katherine Brewster that he assassinated John at some point. They ripped it off from that, just without telling an actual story like the first 2 movies did.
I don't care for how much T2 is overblown in people's minds. Predator is the best Arnold movie and he was a dumbass to choose Terminator sequels over Predator sequels. The Terminator (1984) is a great self-contained movie that didn't need any sequels, least of all having Arnold in all of them. Nobody remembers Kyle Reese saying that the T-800s were difficult to identify because they looked like regular people to infiltrate. It doesn't stand to reason that they should all look like Arnold.
T2's "no fate but what you make" catchphrase doesn't hold up either, no matter how much AVGN thinks that movie is perfect. The first movie has the ending where John Connor's father is from the future and has the picture the kid takes of Sarah at the end and the whole thing is this "chicken and egg" paradox. In reality, the future is set and it's an infinite loop. Kyle Reese always has to be sent back from the future to conceive John.

Having watched this movie again after a long time I think killing John was because James Cameron always saw this as Linda's franchise and he thought killing John would be a good character dilemma for her to go through. When it comes to the future changes they stopped Skynet in part 2 but humans will still always eventually make some form of AI no matter what the future is. I think the twist of killing John and doing a new future is an interesting idea but rather it works is depended on how people feel about the execution. I agree they could have just left John alive but I did like how it affected Linda's character I enjoyed seeing her as an older grumpy crazier Sarah.
But yeah if you have cgi that is miles better than today there's a problem a BIG problem!

So, they took the 'save the important future hero' idea from T1 and T2, took the TX (liquid shell, rigid skeleton) terminator from T3, Human/cyborg hybrid idea from Salvation, and the been around for years he's learned to adapt to society T-800 from Genisys. Not an original idea in sight.
Seems to be a trend the last couple of years. Hype up a direct sequel while denying the already existing sequels from existing canonically, and claim it will be better than those. Instead, they lift ideas seen in those awful sequels, slightly tweak them and just rehash what was already done to begin with. Instead, they end up just as bad as the sequels they're claiming to be better than. In the 90s we'd mock crappy little studios releasing lower budget, straight to DVD sequels of popular movies. Nowadays, it's Hollywood themselves spewing it out.
