This is now my favourite 2p shedding game. It's had a lot of competition recently but this plays so much more strategically than others. The differences in this one that aren't in others may seem subtle but they are so impactful. The offer system is genius.
I'm so glad you've enjoyed this one! The offer system is the originating core of the game, and it was fascinating exploring it and trying to build a game around it.
Congratulations on getting published! In 21:20 I think Yellow should have also placed one card as an offer (Blue just did), but it's the end of the round, so doesn't matter.
well-designed game, Jon, and I like the artwork, too. A worthy addition to the climbing/shedding catalog. May you and Little Dog (New Mill) sell lots of copies!
This looks fun and the theme is awesome! Have you considered selling it as a Print and Play as well? That would really help combat those shipping fees and a deck of cards with a couple tokens is the perfect size for a pnp!
@@JonGetsGames Too bad! I've played it a few times with 2 decks of playing cards now and a) really like it, but b) miss the color coding and cute artwork. I understand it can be a hassle though, so I'm really just grateful for getting to play the game at all. The BGA implementation is great too. Should you ever change your mind, generating the files in a pnp format is really easy, so let me know if you ever want to look into it and need some help!
Yeah, I 100% understand your position. It's the unfortunate reality of international shipping for a small publisher. I do know several stores have purchased copies to sell outside of the US. Do you mind telling me what country you live in?
So, if you choose to play cards from in front of you like you did with your two 1’s, you can play as many cards in front of you and not just 1? Can others take more then one card in front of another player if they can use them both and they are a run or match?
I'm so sorry for the delayed response! When playing from anyone's offer (including your own) you can use as many cards as you want from each offer. Technically, you don't have to play any of your own cards. It's rare, but I've seen it happen were someone only plays cards in their opponent's offers in order to try and take control of a trick. I hope you enjoy the game :)
One question that came up in our game today: Can you play +1 combination even though you don’t need it another card? Ex. Another player played 3,4,5, can you beat it with 4,5,6,7 even though you could beat it with 4,5,6?
One question. When playing it felt much more natural to us to discard the combo that was beaten instead of keeping it underneath the winning combo. Is that ok?
That is certainly ok. I actually waffled on keeping cards in the middle or discarding them after each play. The reason it's in the rulebook is to clarify what cards are shuffled into a new deck if that proves necessary. I figured it was cleaner to shuffle all cards previously played, and not worry about picking out the cards from within the current trick. Realistically speaking though, this has functionally no real impact on the game. Shuffling a new deck is quite rare (mostly happens at 5p), and even then it doesn't really matter if some extra cards are in there. This is one of those "you have to pick something and make it official" things that I almost flipped a coin on :P
@@JonGetsGames thanks for your quick answer. It is a great game! It might replace Scout for us ;-) I hope it gets the attention of the game community that it deserves!
CORRECTIONS:
21:21 - Yellow forgot to offer a card, but it didn't matter since the round was ending.
I just assumed you didn't bother since the round ended and it made no difference..
Pre-ordered. Looks like a fun alternative to Scout that's better suited to lower player counts, and I like the personality.
I've heard a surprising amount of positive feedback about the 2p game of Spring Cleaning, so I can agree with your statement.

Well done Jon
Usually hate trick taking games. Since it was yours i went on and loved. Cheers man. Well designed.
Thanks!
Great news. My pre-order shipped out today. It's in the wild Jon!!!
Wooo! I really hope you enjoy it :)
I’ve been trying this out on BGA and I really like it! The public offer card mechanic is really clever. I’m definitely preordering a copy!
That's great to hear :D
Pre-ordered! Excited to try it out. Shedding is fun and love the art. Love the publisher too. Goodluck friend
Thanks, I hope you enjoy it when it arrives!
@JonGetsGames Also playing a game on BGA. Let's Go!
Really looks fun and excited for you both on this game. “ when” this gets picked up, will be glad I have this original one. Ordering now.👍🏻😀

Good catch, and thanks!
Looks great fun, Well done Jon and those involved in the creation. Just ordered locally (UK based)
I really hope you enjoy it!
Very cute with a clever mechanic. Well done!
Thanks!
This looks great from the design to the art. I put my order in. Really looking forward to it.
I really hope you enjoy it, it should have been shipped to you by now!
@@JonGetsGames It's on the way. Thanks, Jon.
Congratulations! I'm looking forward to getting my copy in a few months.
This game would be good for my family and my game group. Ordered!
Awesome, I hope you enjoy it :)
Congratulations on designing such an interesting game. I love the shared cards and swapping shenanigans

I'm excited for this. I keep trying to get a game going on BGA but no on has joined yet
What's your BGA name? I'll join a 2p async game with you if you like :)
@@JonGetsGames I would love that. Bgpopapmp1
Wonderful game, congrats and thanks Jon!
Looks great! Well done, it is ordered.
Awesome!

As of this moment I don't have plans to do a PnP, sorry!

Looks great. 74$ is a bit too much for me for this game, but I hope it will end up in retail more locally :)
Congratulations on the design

Really cool Jon! Will look into the preorder! Game looks really well designed. Quick question, does the company ship to Canada?
I believe it ships to Canada, though the price may be high. I am unsure though, sorry.

What happened to the game Acorns you were working on, Jon?
It's design is complete, but as of now there is no news about it being published beyond using multiple standard decks of cards.
One question that came up in our game today: Can you play +1 combination even though you don’t need it another card? Ex. Another player played 3,4,5, can you beat it with 4,5,6,7 even though you could beat it with 4,5,6?
Yep, as long as it’s stronger, you can play it. Both the 4-5-6 and 4-5-6-7 are stronger so both are legal in that example.
@@JonGetsGames thanks!

Shipping doubles the cost for me, but I might end up getting it anyway.
Yeah, that is an unfortunate reality for orders outside of the US with a small publisher like this. If you do get it, I really hope you enjoy it.
Yessssssss!!!
