I love this tutorial! I have seen most where they just take a while to explain and most of the time don’t tell you where to get the acrylic flat main part to put your design on
I learned so much from this video and not just about keychains! I had never thought to weed using the mat to hold them still or to put one big sheet of transfer tape! So simple and so brilliant!
Hi! I cut out several different vinyl rainbows in each color.. light purple, purple, teal, etc. Then you can take each different size bow in a different color and place them in different patterns...I use my tweezers to pick up the different colors and place them where they go one at a time on vinyl backing paper. Then just transfer them to the acrylic. Hope that helps!
Thank you! I just drew my circle exactly 2 inches, and used Design Space software to slice the wavy lines exactly where I wanted. Then I designed the text to fit ..it usually comes out pretty close that way.
Hi! I drew a 2” circle in Design Space then searched for a “icing” shape in images. I found one that looked like dripping icing and sliced the icing shape out of the circle. Hope that makes sense!
So stinkin' cute! I just stumbled on your channel while I was researching ideas on how to ship wood signs and I am so glad I did! I love the Appalachians. Mostly just been in the Tennessee/North Carolina part, but of what I have seen I am mountain obsessed. Here in Indiana, we don't have mountains. We sometimes have hills lol What part (state) of the Appalachians are you from? Love you products and your videos!
Hi I created the text in Design Space and also created a 2 inch circle shape that is the size of the acrylic. I then resized the text and moved around the words to fit on the 2 inch circle. After that I removed the circle and just cut out the rest...this method works great.👍
Hi, Where did you get the rainbow acrylic key chain from? I can only find the blanks on the website you provided. Not the actual key chain. Thank you very much :)
Hi! That is why is wanted to try this to stay out of resin, and they have lasted great so far. Next time I might coat the top as well and see how that looks.

I want to learn how to make that rainbow. I haven't been able to figure it out with the different colors

What size do you put in for your design im very new to this
How did you make the shapes the same size for the rainbow keychain
what do you reccommend for the final coat if you don't have the triple thick? what else could you use to seal the glitter?
Hi. You could also use thick coats of mod podge as well. Many people also use epoxy to seal.
Love these. So the triple thick seals the glitter?
Hi yes it sealed it very well...the finish is more matte than the finish of epoxy, but it does seal. Thank you!
@@AppalachianHomeCo you are welcome and thank you for the help
does the triple thick leave it with a nice smooth finish ?
Hi..the finish is kind of like powdered sugar frosting after it dries...a matte, frosted glass like finish if that makes sense.
Hi! how to apply the triple thick nice and smooth? I tried on my keychain, I can see the brush marks after dried.
If I put just vinyl do I put mod podge to seal it? I use perm cricut vinyl
Hi! No need to use modern podge with permanent vinyl unless you plan to dishwash the item. 👍
What kind of modge podge did you use?? And what the liquid used at the end?
Hi I used dishwasher safe mod podge from Walmart, and the liquid at the end is called Triple Thick, which I got from Amazon.
How did you get your vinyl to math your keychains so perfect? I mean like even the goals one is done so good.
Thank you! I just drew my circle exactly 2 inches, and used Design Space software to slice the wavy lines exactly where I wanted. Then I designed the text to fit ..it usually comes out pretty close that way.
Does the triple thick leave the surface smooth and shiny like a resin does?
Hi no is is more textured and dull... I love the look of resin I just don't have a good space to work with it.🤔
Hello what kind of mod podge did you use? TIA
Hi! I did use the weather proof kind ... i believe it says safe for dishwashers somewhere on the bottle.
These are awesome can you use any modge lodge or does it have to be the dishwasher safe one ?
Hi thank you! You could use any mod podge I would think, especially if you are going to seal the back with an enamel.👍🏻
@@AppalachianHomeCo brilliant thank you !!
where did you get the shape for the gold half circle one? It is so pretty.
Hi! I drew a 2” circle in Design Space then searched for a “icing” shape in images. I found one that looked like dripping icing and sliced the icing shape out of the circle. Hope that makes sense!
Quick question! About how long did you wait for the glitter to dry before adding the deco art sealer?
Hi! I did let it dry overnight but it felt dry to the touch after a few hours.👍🏻
@@AppalachianHomeCo thank you so much! Gonna try it out 😊

Hi thank you so much! I’m from the western NC mountains. I’m so glad you found my channel!☺️
What size and thickness where the acrylic circles? the link doesnt work. Thx
Hi! Sorry about the link Amazon must not carry these ones anymore. The exact ones I used are about 0.1" thick, and 2" wide.
Love the rainbow! How did you get the rainbow colors?
So cute, may I ask where you got your keychain blanks from.
Hi thank you! Yes I got them from Moxievinyls.com.
What transfer tape do you use
I have used a few and my favorite has been Greenstar Layflat clear medium tack. I get it from US Cutter. It works well with most kinds of vinyl. 👍🏻
how did you find the design to match the keychain shape perfectly
Hi I created the text in Design Space and also created a 2 inch circle shape that is the size of the acrylic. I then resized the text and moved around the words to fit on the 2 inch circle. After that I removed the circle and just cut out the rest...this method works great.👍
@@AppalachianHomeCo what about the other custom shapes? how do you get those to match perfect? the circle is the easy one,
What size did you cut at for the circles?
Hi! I used the full 2” diameter size for the circles.👍🏻
Hi,
Where did you get the rainbow acrylic key chain from? I can only find the blanks on the website you provided. Not the actual key chain. Thank you very much :)
Hi! I believe I got them from Amazon as well I will try and post that link.
@@AppalachianHomeCo thank you ☺️
So instead of doing resin I could just do this method. Does it last long?
Hi! That is why is wanted to try this to stay out of resin, and they have lasted great so far. Next time I might coat the top as well and see how that looks.
@@AppalachianHomeCo did you try sealing the top with the glaze yet?
are you having some allergies or you sick in this vid?
Hi I have allergies lol so probably!
@@AppalachianHomeCo haha I just noticed a bit, allergies aren't fun!
